Wii Speak Channel Now Out!

Sorry if posted. Searched and did'nt find anything.

Just downloaded it. Pretty cool so far especially sending audio messages.

It should be out everywhere btw. Really love the music. They need to update the photo channel to look like that tho.

Have'nt even tested the chatting yet lol

What region are you in?

Nice. I ran the placeholder channel I installed a month ago and it prompted me to update. Automatically took me to the relevant page of the Wii Shop Channel, where I was prompted to redownload for a 0 point cost, without needing to re-input my voucher code.

Just did the initial set up, and sent a voice message to two of my buddies.
Pretty slick channel, all in all.

Yes, but it came with no download ticket. Where do I get one? Don't worry, I looked EVERYWHERE. I got no ticket with my AC bundle.

The ticket is supposed to be in the little plastic bag that has the Wii Speak instructions, it looks like a normal game registration pamphlet that comes with every nintendo game.

As I already said, it came with no ticket. Anywho, I managed to get a code.

I don't suppose you guys want to do a GAF-wide Wii chat......

I wouldn't mind since I do remember you from Nsider.

Nice, I'll have to download that in the morning. I feel guilty for buying a Wii this morning from my cousin for $125. She hardly touched the thing since she got it last Christmas, so while she was over for Thanksgiving she offered to sell the Wii itself, two remotes, a nunchuk, and Super Mario Galaxy for $125. What a steal, and the thing is practically brand new.

I picked up Animal Crossing w/ Wii Speak bundle at Amazon when they had the Black Friday deal as well as No More Heroes and Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition. Animal Crossing stole my entire evening, but I plan on giving the other two games some attention tomorrow.

Just in time for 2009! Lucky bastard!

What's the verdict on the channel and the whole wii Speak mic?

Wii Speak works really nicely. Feels really relaxed in Animal Crossing when you've just got someone else's voice floating around when they're in your town.

Have only had one WiiSpeakChannel chat and it worked perfectly BUT unless I'm missing something, having to set up a conversation first somewhere else (possibly using a *telephone*) renders the channel a bit pointless. Although the photo-sharing stuff was neat.

I guess if you have loads of Wii Friends who all want to chat to each other, it might be useful?

I definitely see the most benefit of Wii Speak Channel being the ability to send audio messages to other Wii owners easily. That's how I'll be using it. Enhances the standard message board a lot.

Nintendo is so weird. Just allow people to directly access each other.
