Edit: Lol! European Network Premium is a little different (for the Euro zone). Every Euro you spend will get you 8 points. When you get 500 points, you can then exchange them for a code for said 500 points and then spend the money on the eShop.

I can only assume this is equivalent to 10% on the pretax price.

In the US, is it the same? So the price in the store is pre-sales tax and you get 10% back? In Europe prices are inclusive of sales tax.
 
Well, I was out getting some coffee this morning and noticed Kmart was open, so I stopped in. Sure enough, 2 WiiU Deluxe sets and a few basics, so i pulled the trigger.

Dammit i cannot resist new hardware.

Downloaded the update, just about to get started. Well Nintendo, I'm in, let's see what you got.

So you mean if TTT2 costs $54.99 you will get the amount of this price but still have to pay more because of added taxes?
 
Was a bit nervous but I finally did the Wii to WiiU tranfer.

It was super easy and fast. Not a problem in the whole process.

Very happy I can finally finish Xenoblade since my Wii wasn't reading discs any longer.
 
Miiverse is really cool and kind of addictive. I love pausing my game and asking questions to fellow Miiverse players, only to get an answer within seconds. On top of that it's a great forum for voicing criticisms of products crashing or freezing, which should help speed along patches. I think outside of the awesome implementations of the Wiipad, Miiverse is my favorite thing about the new system.

Yes - I guess that varies based on state, and prices in the US are usually pretax. That really caught me out on my first visit, I had just the right loose change to buy something, and then when I got to the cashier, it was more expensive!

its pretty standard practice that game reviews are not revisited after patches are issued on every other system, i doubt that will change in this instance

sucks that they borked their own game on launch day though

You guessed right.

Essentially the TRC goes something like this: fit all critical HUD elements within the 80% safe frame. But ignore that if you have settings for the user to tweak it.

They pick this option because the front end designers typically hate having to fit within the 80% safe frame because it wastes so much screen real estate.

I've seen exceptions but you're right, most of the time they don't revisit. It sucks but shipping the game broken is also a big issue.
 
Does anybody have opinions on the Wii U Rocket Fish Headset?

I saw it for $20 and was wondering how it is.
 
Okay this has been bothering me since launch. Why the hell are there Hulu Plus and Amazon Video apps on my Canadian Wii U? We don't have either service here. :/
 
It's pretty great that the Wii is fully supported in BC. Never had a Wii, but my sister did, I've borrowed Twilight Princess, Skyward Sward and SM Galaxy and they all look and play excellent.

Really excited to get into some of the awesome classics from the Wii on my big screen.

Oh, and I'm loving Nintendo Land alone and with friends.

I have it. I used it to play COD. I don't like it very much. The buttons are backwards and my mind has had a hard time getting use to it. The sticks are also not as good as the ones on a PS3 or 360 controller.

My original plan was to buy COD on the Wii U (I am renting it from Gamefly), but after using the pro controller and the gamepad with the game, I went out and bought the game on PS3 just because of how much better the controls are on the PS3.
 
Not gonna lie, it's pretty awesome seeing "Happy Thanksgiving!" posts in Nintendo Land. Can't wait until the rest of the world gets it so that we see messages from all over.

thank you. that's made my decision to not but the zombiu bundle easier. will buy the deluxe by itself and raid hmv for games.

has anyone used a PC to migrate SD card Wii Save files so that they work when up in the Wii U?

I am thinking of my Xenoblade saves

cannot seem to download the latest Wii Shop channel to get that migration app

I am still surprised at how backwards their controller is for FPS style games. Knowing that Nintendo has been the pioneer of game controllers since the NES, the positioning of the sticks and buttons seems so contrary to the Nintendo of the past. What they did by doing this is make sure that hardcore shooting fans stay away from FPS style games on their console because the controls are mediocre.

Im sure a decent third party controller will help those who dislike the stick placement, I guess.

I haven't tried the YouTube app yet but it seems superfluous. YouTube works great in the Internet Browser.

I hope so. Because if someone doesn't step in and make a proper controller, or a device that allows users to use their PS3 or 360 controllers on the Wii U, I will never buy a fast paced 3rd party FPS/shooter on their console.

I am not going to play with a controller that limits my enjoyment of any game.

Did Wii have Netflix in the UK? Hoping they'll do it for wiiU. Oddly Sony still don't have Netflix on vita here (although you can download it from US account and use it)

Yes, I know everything that I can possibly do on it I can do on other consoles....BUT I DON"T HAVE OTHER CONSOLES!!!

file moved without a problem... without using the Wii Migration app

just copied the files save on Wii using the options menu clicked 'COPY' from Wii to SD

went over to Wii U (Wii Mode) Put in Xenoblade disk start it up hit 'continue' no data files showed up. hit menu to exit the game when to the save files options Wii side had a new file for Xenoblade and the SD had my real saves. I erased the file I found on the Wii side and oved the real file from SD to Wii side go back to menu launch game hit continue my level 95 NG+ files are on my Wii U :)

had copies The Last Story and Muramasa on that SD could not move them to the Wii side unlike Xenoblade

maybe it needs the disk to start a file that I can erase to be able to move the SD on in its place?
 
I actually don't understand all the Wii U hate here. I think its absolutely amazing as a piece of hardware. First device which successfully integrates the social features of smart phones into the home setting.

The day 1 updates and installs were a bit much and the servers were getting pounded but everything, including the "slowness of the OS" no longer seems like an issue.

Haters gonna hate I guess.
 
Hey guys, any reports on how the Metroid Prime series looks on Wii-U? I have the Trilogy at home but I want to know if it's worth doing all of the Wii to Wii-U transferring stuff to play it upscaled. Thanks!
 
What? The YouTube app is exactly the same as the PS3 one. Same functionality and look. What's the issue? I love it. It's a far better experience when you link it to a YouTube account though. Just add channels and it turns into a great service.

It's better than the PS3 app though because of the simple fact that the sub-screen has supporting details about the videos or descriptions, etc... very neat.

It could just because the HDMI delivers a clearer signal. Doubt anything else is going on there...

I'd rather just wait for the eventual digital rereleases.
 
Your TV upscales Wii games. The Wii U's upscaling just might do a better job of it, and that's gud.
