So I know people are having trouble registering Wii U stuff for Club Nintendo - I registered Mario & it told me it wasn't eligible for coins. Is that one of those known issues they're going to rectify?

wow, the being robbed part really sucks badly.
However, the Mario game is definitely not the same game as Wii had. Getting to a game is about the same time as it was on Wii... so I don't see the issue there as is most of the other opening up apps type of things... and the browser as well as miiverse blow anything on other consoles out of the water, respectively.
btw, ZombiU is a great game if you like survival horror. My favorite game out right now.
Granted this is all personal opinion, but hopefully ZombiU does click with you.

Hmm. Maybe try leaving it, watch a video, if it still doesn't work try joining it again? Doing that made it work for me.
have you tried turning it off and on again?
thats probabaly because they still arent talking about games outside launch window yet. No one is allowed to announce anything as far as I know.

Isn't the browser opera based? In the page where you enable de html5 beta it says something like opera needs WebM to play videos, and WebM appears to be disabled.
so hopefully it is just an error, that they will soon fix.....right?

The Wii U has become my favorite device for playing streaming porn on my HDTV. That's weird.
It's a shame that the Netflix app has messed up gamma because things like the interface and the screen switching function could make this the most awesome Netflix experience. I'm sure there'll be updates down the line to fix it (and add some of the cool stuff from the PC/PS3 Netflix experience like auto-starting the next episode of a TV show).
The "Netflix for Kids" experience is better than it's ever been before though - when one show is over, my 4 year old daughter basically just has to tap the picture of her favorite character on the screen and the next episode of that show plays, no hassle. It's cool.

the fact that it worked perfectly fine on the browser before means something changed so if Youtube changed something they should adress this and fix it

oddly, i just checked the wii u youtube app and it had me install an update. i did and at a glance, i couldn't notice anything different. certainly no "stream to gamepad" option still. but to be fair, i'm not sure if the update is actually "new" or if i just hadn't updated in a while. it had probably been a couple weeks since i last launched it.

He's saying that's the amount that would need to have been sold there to be at 1 million already.
Given the way sales figures usually increase in December, odds are they can come close to 2 million by new year.

Close to two million could be achievable, but I guess we will not get any ideas until some European numbers are out besides the UK.
