We're moving to an apartment closer to my work (281 in San Antonio is terrible) but haven't moved the TVs yet. Getting to play AC3 on the gamepad last night was great.

Internet doesn't get connected until Friday, but if anyone is looking for friend adds, I'm Nostremitus

Anyone have a list of all the E-Shop games? (non-retail) and what ones are worth getting? Wanna get an idea of what $ eshop card i wanna get at best buy before i head out.

yeah seriously... Vita level support is a scary thing so I want weekly news on new games being worked on
The biggest difference between Vita and Wii-U is that Nintendo actually puts a shit load of first party support/effort into their machines and it seems like third party devs are on board so i am not worried about not getting any games. We already know a SSB is coming, we all know a new mario will come and zelda. Perfect time to bring out Metroid as well as a new Starfox, i think both those games can benefit greatly and do some awesome stuff with the gamepad.

Cacpom pls.......... Well if they're digital releases at 15 bucks that'll be ok...... I'm dreaming I know.

I know at the finals for SF 25th anniversary tournament they said there will have a few surprises including hands on time with a game. According to the rumors it's not a new game so it could be a Wii U version of AE 2012.

we don't know much about what Capcom is doing beyond Monster Hunter so that rumor with an image of a 3rd party controller does not give me much hope of it being true.

RE6 is a given cash in :(

Still doing mostly updates and such, but netflix is godly on this. switching it gamepad is instant and great for my apartment.

This thing still won't connect to my internet. I'm typing this on my wifi iPad mini, and watching the giantbomb WiiU stream archive on my pc, the internet obviously works.

Not if someone takes it before you get your console online ;)

What makes it any better on wii-u then lets say my ps3/360 and roku? Just curious since i don't have a set machine i use it on.

Yeah...ok...so the OS loads in about as much time it takes to boot up the 360 it seems...I could have sworn it felt longer yesterday.

Netflix feels like it's loading faster too. This is weird. (again, probably all in my head @_@)
Not sure, but my system seemed to speed up once Miiverse started working across the board. Could be that all the integration causes the OS to make cause to the Miiverse server each time you switch programs.

Is there a list of games that do and dont stream to the gamepad? I know EPic Mickey 2 doesnt but most other ones seem to.

Okay people Im in the UK where the Wii U has not launched yet. So to me you guys in the US are like some super advanced civilisation from the future.

So tell me, what is life like owning a next generation console? BLOW ME AWAY!

Its pretty fun. Being able to stream to the gamepad alone is worth it. Its so neat.

Check your port settings on your router or modem. Might be blocking the port the WiiU tries to access.

Mine is on the back of a truck >:(

Same! It says it should be here by 3:00 pm, they've got 37 minutes. I was delaying lunch until this thing came in but maybe it will be dinner when it's all said and done.

Watching the window like a hawk, and an empty stomach.

The streaming tech on this thing is amazing. There is literally no lag when playing Mario.

When I was playing last night, I initially began by watching on the TV screen.. but as the game went on, I looked more and more directly at the gamepad until the TV was just an afterthought. Once I admitted that I was just playing on the pad, I grabbed my headphones, plugged them into the pad, and continued on. It was nice to experience that option on Night 1.

I cannot stand that IGN feed. First of all they don't even know the names of the games (Marvelous 101?). Or the length of the launch window (February?).

But the thing I cannot stand most is the constant talking over each other. CONSTANT. Giant Bomb at least know when not to speak.

Thank you for pointing this out. Also wanted to mention that CN gives me only until 25th of November to fill out the survey.

EDIT: I also wanted to mention that Miiverse posting is just 100 characters. It should be the same as Twitter which is 140, I think.

I linked my Wii U to my Club Nintendo account per the steps on Club Nintendo yesterday, and I still don't have a survey or the points :(. I'll be Platinum again once I register it, but more importantly I'm guessing I need to register it for the Warranty.

I emailed Club Nintendo Support but they simply said, "I see you have points now so it appears you fixed it". Hopefully, I can get it straightened out. Curious though, if anyone else has had this issue?

BTW, when I go back into it I do show it's linked to Club Nintendo account already :(

The Wii U will never output Dolby Digital 5.1 (unless a game has specifically licensed it - which most won't do). Nintendo hasn't licensed the codec for the console. If you desire digital surround, you'll need an AV receiver that decodes 6 channel PCM (which is every modern receiver) via HDMI.

No, 6 channel PCM.

OK. Just so that I'm understanding this correctly; The Wii U does support surround sound (just not the DD or DTS codec), but you need an AVR with video pass-thru to get it, right?

this is what I want most. AFTER LAUNCH GAME RUMORS YES PLS >_<

yeah an update to fix load times yes do want

Hell yeah fighting games! I was saying it a few weeks ago, I really want Wii U to get all the fighting games. It's a great setup for fighting games and I think theres a lot they can get out of Miiverse and the GamePad.

I really hope Nintendo updates the TV Remote function to allow "hot-swapping" between inputs. Tie it to the pause button of some games and then you can instantly switch to the football game your were watching and than swap back again when they go to commercial break.

Also, it needs an option to set channel numbers and then hit enter to send. Trying to dial in triple-digit channels can be hit or miss b/c you need to look at the touch screen but than back up again on the set to see if the numbers are registering.

Are you stuck on the setup for the wifi? As in it doesn't go to the second step? The issue seems to be that you can't auto detect the wifi settings and you must input your information. SSID, IP address, DNS, etc.

Just follow this, it should work http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/sy...connect&submenu=rvl-ht-int-adjust-manual-conn

I got IGN's live stream working flawlessly on my WiiU on both GamePad and TV

and macbook.

My Wii U stream is behind a minute or so let me reload and see if I can sync

My Samsung hdtv finally bit the bucket Last night(new one comes tomorrow). But I was still able to play my wii u. that's kinda cool.

That's awesome as hell, no way around it. This launch could have been less frustrating and it's unfortunate concerning the technical shortcomings of some of these ports, but as far as the console itself goes, I'm pretty thrilled about it all around. I've barely been playing any games as I just futz around with all of its features (especially Miiverse).

Something cool that is pretty obvious but neat nonetheless is how my girlfriend was playing Mario, she was looking at the gamepad while playing it but I was watching what she was doing on the TV. Obviously, it's just one of those duh things about the system, but when I actually realized what was going on it just felt very neat.

Anyone with the console can confirm if Wii U can output video through HDMI and audio through composite/components (especially the former)?

I would also like to see shortcuts added with channel icons like harmony remotes use.

Anyone get the TV functionality to work with a Dynex tv?

I'm not able to change the input source.

I have a Dynex as well and haven't gotten it to work. I have my Wii U, PS3, and Directv signal on different inputs but can't change between them. The volume works. I can change inputs with my normal controller and then use the Wii U gamepad to change channels. However I can't access my favorites window via Directv. Assume that might be doable with Nintendo TVii when it finally launches.

What’s interesting about this listing isn’t the device itself, but the fact that the box’s screenshots show Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ver. 2012 artwork and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 move-lists. This has led some to theorize that AE 2012 and UMvC3 may be coming to the Wii U in the future, but right now its nothing more than speculation. The screenshots also show off a Forza 4 controller layout for the Xbox 360, on an actual 360 controller, so take it all with a grain of salt. It may just be shoddy photoshopping meant to excite an already ravenous Black Friday crowd.

Rumor: Forza 4 coming to Wii U.

Netflix is great on this and the instant switch to the Pad, loads incredibly fast, and haven't had a problem with streaming thus far. I just wish there was a preview image like the 360 version has.

What's the point of having both the 3DS-style grid menu and the plaza-style menu?

Why can't I access certain shit (downloaded games, Netflix/Youtube/etc.) from the plaza-style menu? (I guess this would be a reason for the separate menus - one for all your shit and one for standard shit.)

WTF does the Nintendo Network thing in the plaza-style menu do? I can tap it and then go to the eShop?

yeah

I want to try the browser netflix too to see which is the better stream

I don't think you can browser netflix... Browser requires microsoft silverlight (same reason Linux can't use netflix) and I doubt Nintendo licensed it.

(edit) Evilromero: You get the same amount of points for a basic or premium bundle... so the lack of points in Nintendo Land felt a bit like a slap to the face.

Woah I'm watching YouTube and on GAF at the same time. I have never been this impressed with a game console. I might be exaggerating but it's so smooth and seamless.
