That is early. Nothing from Amazon UK for me so far. I have one-day delivery, so I'm hopeful I get it Friday.
 
They might just be prepping everything, and could then sit on them for a few days before sticking them on a van. Shopto said they'd prepare them on Friday too.

I hope there is a euro launch thread. there will be many questions and it's easier to resolve any issues in a new thread than a thread where people are told to read back through 200 pages.

Im still waiting for a dispatach note, I expect that to come on monday/tuesday for delivery on Friday. Never ordered from Sainsburys so i dont know who they use, but by the sounds of it its probably the royal mail. I expect it to be yodel so they can leave it on my doorstep for all to see like most things they deliver.

You know, the more I think about, the more I love the way ninty has handle the build up and the launch.

I was comparing it to the way MS sold the kinect to me. There was so much hype and over-promising with that thing that there was no way it was going to be able to live up to it. If they had told the truth about it, I would still have bought it and probably actually been happy with my experiences with it. But as it is, I feel snookered by MS.

Nintendo, on the other hand, has shown exactaly what there system does and has not over-promised anything. Did they say it blow the other two out of the water? No. Did they say that it was going to transform your life and the way you play all games? No. Their campaign has been really subdued in terms of marketing hyperbole and I appreciate that.

So when I do buy one, I'm not going to feel snookered at all and I can enjoy it for what it is and not hate it for what it is not.

Respect to Ninty.
 
So I finally decided to open up my wii u deluxe thats been sitting here for a few days now. I managed to update it and everything no problem, but it tends to drop internet connection once in awhile. Are others having this problem??

Nothing else in my household has this issue, also can we turn off the game pad at all when playing New Super Mario??? I end up staring at the gamepad like i'm playing a handheld when I rather focus on the tv but I just cant lol

Damn it will never change that along with the excitement of a new system launch that even shitty ass games will sell. My all time shame was the PS2. The garbage I bought at launch due to the hype was ridiculous.

Happens to me every so often. I hope they can fix this in the next OS update.
 
Has anyone who ordered Tekken from Newegg with 3 day (free) shipping gotten it yet? I see it arrived in my state, in a city not too far from mine, last night, but it says the delivery is scheduled for next Tuesday.

Man Timesplitters and SSX....Ahhh what good memories. I think I played TimeSplitters with my friends almost as much as Goldeneye. Alas though I also bought Summoner and Wild Wild Racing, I have no excuse.
 
Just finished the Wii to Wii U transfer and it was pretty painless and, oddly, charming. I had my old Wii plugged into my TV at the same time so I was able to jump back and forth between it and the Wii U. Gotta say, the difference in clarity is pretty noticeable, even in the dashboard! I'm really looking forward to picking back where I left off on a bunch of Wii titles.

Really wishing I had more games.. amazon fu-bar'd my shipment of NSMBU and ZombiU.

Need something to quell the disappointment, Scribblenauts Unlimited certainly isn't doing it, either is Nintendoland.

In fact Scribblenauts has me worried.. it's basically a handheld game. Your TV is all but useless unless you are an expert at no-look stylus usage. Hope that's not a trend.. I don't need a handheld that can only be played in the same room as an expensive console.

The touch screen isn't working for me well in general either. Even selecting on-screen buttons can be a chore. So I'm left wondering how this is going to fair whatsoever in any game that isn't extremely slow paced or turn-based.

In the same boat with you haha. I was wondering why and I checked ups' holiday page. They consider the day after thanksgiving a holiday, so stuff doesn't move :/

Mine's scheduled for tuesday as well. All they need to do is get those damn pro controllers in stock!

This is a game I wish I put more time in but I don't want to play too much of it while I am messing with so many other games. I want to wait and give it a good 8 hours of playtime alone :)

It is really good and hard for me to play it at night XD

Agreed. I haven't played very much of it as I've had a busy week but it sure has left an impression in a short amount of time. This is one of those launch games that is a must if you ask me. Love it!

really? Because that is one of the major use cases of the Wii U.

Maybe Scribblenauts is not a great example.. But in Mario, you can play the game just as well on the TV or on the pad.. And more often than I expected, the pad is just fine. I don't turn the TV on all the time.

So yeah, the Wii U is partially supposed to function as the world's greatest handheld that you can use around the house, or optionally throw up on the big screen.
 
So I got Epic Mickey 2 from gamefly and it seems completely broken.

The voices only come out of the left rear speaker during the intro, then the map shows on the game pad and the wii u hard locks on a black screen.

Can't you just download the games? They're sort of slightly cheaper that way, and you get eat cheetos the whole time you're shopping! :D

The truly crazy thing is that I'm mildly angry at Nintendo, not for failing to make the new game exist but for being responsible — however indirectly — for its wonderful, wonderful predecessors existing.
 
I'd probably be a bit more down on the system if you couldn't use the gamepad to play most of the games so far. As far as I'm concerned that is a huge advantage.

The touchscreen has worked perfectly for me so far, the only oddity is the Miiverse that seems to require you to press and hold for a moment for it to accept your selection. That's a software deal though not hardware, I haven't noticed that anywhere else. I will admit I hold the stylus constantly like I would with the DS, maybe I'd have more issues if I tried just touching it with my fingers (though I do that occasionaly in menus and don't have a problem).

Does the Wii U have any notifications when the console is off? It wasn't that big a deal with the Wii, but with the additional connectivity features in the Wii U it would've been nice to have. Is there an option I'm missing or something?

I put so much time into Midnight Club at launch. Really wasn't a bad game.

even as a Rental this game should be avoided glad I did not allow the hype to take me there
 
I have been going back and forth debating going digital versus retail and I think I'm going to go digital aside from the random retail discounts.

Not having to keep changing games and just clicking on an icon when I want to play ZombiU is something I will get used to very quickly.
 
NG3:rz is worth your money



weird part is that I bought all retail and I'm slightly annoyed every time I have to swap out disks - probably going digital soon

Oh shit, didn't saw this post.

Don't misinterpret my words, son. I love to debate with people that are able to. The thing I meant by that was that some issues with some games are very minor and taken way too seriously and the best source to ask those questions are the people that own the console/games.

No need to insult the negative people out there.

I was going to be full digital but decided against it after the news about accounts being tied to consoles surfaced. I know it's not that big of a deal, but to have to send in my console each and every time it develops a fault, even if I have a store warranty is something that I'd very much prefer to avoid.

a shame really, I bought a 1tb hard drive in preparation of going digital before the news broke.
 
i really want some kind of general/off topic community for MiiVerse. on a side note now that i have the console i just want to buy so many games. hope they put the Miiverses up for certain games alittle bit before the release

I'm no NG pro but the game is challenging and satisfying. The pacing is also pretty great and there's a lot of content, seemingly.

Also heard that new game+ is confirmed and that you can move difficulties on subsequent playthroughs.
