[Windows Central] No, it's not just Xbox - ALL video game console sales are massively down year-over-year

I mean, if the November trend isnt corrected, everyone IS in trouble. It's just that Xbox is more in trouble and we all know that. The article even knows that.

The thing is before November we already knew Xbox was dead and continuing to massively decline. In that context I don't think Xbox' performance during November is that noteworthy, but PS5 and Switch 2 performance is extremely noteworthy.

The bigger problem is Microsoft themselves are not interested in selling Xbox. They have abounded it. All the rumors about limited manufacturing of Xbox and its availability I guess were true.

Well yea, but that was a problem that we all figured out, dissected, and understood like 10 months ago. PS5 dropping 40% and Switch 2 dropping is the biggest takeaway this month. Xbox failing is old news.

According to rumors PS5 did good number in Europe unlike the US. It is likely Sony will give the numbers in CES 2026 so we will know how much it is lagging behind PS4 in the same period. I think it will reach 100 million eventually. Next year they have Wolverine so if it does well it might help. Those PS4 gamers waiting for GTA6 as well might finally upgrade to PS5. At least they are trying with sales and releasing newer SKU of PS5. Microsoft on other hand do not even care and I cannot see it even reaching 45million, which means only some 22-23 million SX.

It's not. It is popular among people who have been gaming, people who like to build their PC's for gaming. It is popular, which I am not denying, but it is not mainstream. By mainstream, I simply mean, it will become the default for everyone. It ain't mainstream as long as there are consoles. :D

EDIT
And no, not baseless. The push to cloud is because they want more control over how we access content.

I bet you think consoles are mainstream and it's only PCs that aren't?

What do you think EVERY big streamer these kids are watching is playing on?
