Kirito goes to the hospital where he is greeted by Nurse Aki who suddenly extends both of her hands, and feels Kirito up and down.
Kirito puts on the AmuSphere and enters the world of GGO and describes the majestic view of Gun Gale Online. Kirito converts his character and to his surprise, he ends up looking like a girl who another player offer a large sum of money due to the rare existence of that character. The character, a rare M9000 type that could only be obtained through having a large amount of playtime, looked exceptionally like a female.
Sinon takes Kirito to a casino where Kirito, to everyone's surprise, beats the "impossible" game and earns 300,000 credits which he uses to buy a light saber (150,000 credits)
GGO and Mother Rosario arcs should actually be decent.
**sigh**Ok reading through more summaries of the next arc for SAO and it just sounds awful. Like so bad I can't believe people would read it and be impressed by it.
Link to a summary I suggest Firehawk stay out for his sanity.
Here are some choice excerpts
Sword Art Online Extra Bullshit
Only alfheim is badly written, Sao anime suffers from bad choices and rushed moments doesn't help.
i'm actually glad that SAO continues because people will see that alfheim arc was just a bad moment and that good things can happen in this universe

See, this is why I told you to stop.
Sword Art Online Extra Bullshit
So how do you frame a clip show so that you can trick people into watching and perhaps paying for this thing?
Here's Mr. Exposition, Chief of Exposition of the Exposition Department, here to give them a reason to shit out the entire series in a movie.
Oh, but that wouldn't be enough to get people to buy this. You can't ignore the harem!
Hey, they all have boobs except the short one. Isn't that funny?
It's like a one-two punch of shit. One where you're reminded of all the terrible plot that led Kirito to be the BEST GAMER EVER and the other where you're reminded that these girls all fell on top of his rod and want to ride him.

God, it's all coming back to me. I still hope that Kawahara doesn't *believe* in any of this bullshit and that he has found the perfect way to get into the heart of the otaku and stroke his "ego" in order to sell shitty fiction, much in the way that I just assume Stephanie Meyer actually hates her reading audience because there is no way that she thinks her writing is actually any good.
I can only hope that because I'm just reminded of the fact that the anime itself has no self-awareness. That it expects me to give a shit about any of these characters and their lust for the most perfect man ever. That it expects me to just buy into the shitty OreImo angst to the point that in the new material, they do their best to push it hard because I'm assuming (pseudo)-incest sells the most and Sugu is the "fan favourite" character of the franchise. Even in what amounts to a pointless OVA with no ties to the series beyond setting up the sequel season in a 5 second Marvel-esque tag after the credits, they just can't fucking help themselves. Fucking hell.
The people who like this thing will continue to like it. I'm sure they'll like the second season too. But for me, this was a reminder of everything that was contemptuous and insidious of the original series. Is it the worst thing on the internet since child porn? Apparently some crazy asshole said it was earlier in the year, so I'll have to defer to his opinion. All I can say that this series still represents everything that is terrible about anime in the 2010s. It's not the moefication of heroines or the rise of girl-only slice of life shows (because people who reduce Hidamari Sketch to "girls being cute for male audiences" can just go fuck themselves), it's this need to encourage the otaku audience into self-gratification through a reification of their hobbies. Buying games and figures and BDs and doujin and body pillows and onaholes are sacred activities to be praised and encouraged, because the otaku will feel good about themselves while continuing to contribute to the churn of the industry.
But you know what? Maybe this is the anime that we deserve, because even something like Yamato 2199 can't fully escape the churn of the modern anime industry.
I'm sure someone will point that I watched a show I called BoobJoust, and if you count the five minutes it takes for me to go through each episode, then yes, I did. But the thing is that BoobJoust, and I presume the other harem shows this season, don't insist on the importance of their characters or their plot. The directors or writers or whomever know enough that they are just hocking merchandise, than any dramatic beats are to create a serviceable story, not because they have a story that is actually worth telling. Imagine a shitty harem with the gravitas of 12 Years a Slave. That is what's wrong with SAO in a nutshell.
Too conclude, insert Asuna joke here.
Firehawk's derision will eventually roll over into appreciation.
Mushishi
Twelve Kingdoms
Denno Coil
Baccano
Crest+Banner of the Stars
Hidamari Sketch
The Tatami Galaxy
Kino's Journey
Darker than Black
Black Lagoon
Detroit Metal City
Genshiken

Gintama
Hajime no Ippo
Yamato 2199
Spice and Wolf
Samurai Champloo
Cowboy Bebop
Seirei no Moribito
Gunbuster + Diebuster
That's most things I can think of that are generally fairly high ranking and missing from your list. Probably a few missing which others can no doubt provide!
He's already on board for S2. Every week will be a post that is more and more angry but internally he will be more excited to watch it week after week.
It ends with him buying an Asuna dakimakura and playing the eventual SAO fanservice eroge somebody makes for the Oculus.
how can this...

Happy New Year AnimeGAF!

Gotta go fast. Minami and Harada actors were nice, mainly Harada. Nitta was an asshole.

Still 2013 here, but happy new year to all those who've passed into the beyond. I have a feeling this will be the last year for anime threads in general.

The worst part of SAO S2 is that the thread is going to be like this for another half a year.
But I already made a new thread!
Given the tag at the end of the credits, I'm sure it'll beOk reading through more summaries of the next arc for SAO and it just sounds awful. Like so bad I can't believe people would read it and be impressed by it.

If only someone could fly around the sun to stop JJ from making Trek!JJ Abram's strikes again, this time attempting to erase the original Star Trek from history!
I'm sure they'll eventually break out the checkbook to bring in Shatner or Stewart at some point. Seems inevitable. Not so long as Leonard Nimoy is still alive and likes a paycheck.
It won't stop. This is exactly what the dwindling fanbase wants.No......no .....make it stop. MAAAAAKKEEEE IT STOOOOOOOOP!

I agree entirely with you Firehawk. This anime represents everything wrong with the medium condensed into such a shitcicle of cringeworthy drama and cheese that its hard not to take SAO seriously as a meta commentary of everything wrong with the medium. First my cousin and now my little sister, please make it stop. Please..
Firehawk's derision will eventually roll over into appreciation.

I dunno, given that Carmack is on it, I'm sure the Oculus will come out the same time as Doom 4/Quake 5.Poor Firehawk.
At least he'll make the wise decision of buying an Oculus.
Also, Happy New Years!
Still 2013 here, but happy new year to all those who've passed into the beyond. I have a feeling this will be the last year for anime threads in general.
Oh yes, give me some more SAO.
I LOVE SAO, people, it's time to EMBRACE IT, feel it deep inside you.
So does that mean SAO discussion in here will be outlawed?!

We're already dead.Still 2013 here, but happy new year to all those who've passed into the beyond. I have a feeling this will be the last year for anime threads in general.
Somehow this is more amazing than whatever Corvo ever rant. bravo.
In fact, perhaps we all died after SAO first aired and this is a Key anime!RIP firehawk again
RIP AnimeGAF.
Given the tag at the end of the credits, I'm sure it'll beYOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SAVE US KIRITO-SAMA. I AM FORMING THE SAO INITIATIVE.

You know, I'm not sure how I would feel if SAO ever just became a pedestrian haremshit like a BoobJoust. Presumably it would be antithetical to the entire purpose of SAO, where Kirito is not only the Jesus and God of MMOs and Japanese MMO security, but where girls stop falling in love with him because of REASONS and just harem-up like any other show. But hell, if they're still milking the fake-incest stuff now, I can't see any of that happening.
Richard Eisenbeis of Kotaku hails Sword Art Online as the smartest series in recent years, praising its deep insight on the psychological aspects of virtual reality on the human psyche, its sociological views on creating a realistic economy and society in a massively multiplayer online game setting, and the writing staff's ability to juggle a wide variety of genres within the series.Eisenbeis particularly noted how the romance between Kirito and Asuna is explored bringing "definition to exactly what love is like in a virtual world." However, at the time of this preliminary review, he had only watched the first 12 episodes of the series. He has since gone on to review the second half of the series, lauding its excellent use of plot twists and praising its well written and believable villain.
The worst part of SAO S2 is that the thread is going to be like this for another half a year.
I will say, it's hard to know who to take less seriously when it comes to anime reviews - ANN or Kotaku.Hopefully its a fad and dies out quickly. I suspect it is. Anyway if anyone needs a laugh:
lewd
Yes, embrace it like me and you will find bliss.
So does that mean SAO discussion in here will be outlawed?!
