Pancakes

hot, steaming, as melted butter slips into the cracks, drizzled with sticky sweet syrup OH GOD
Space Battleship Yamato 2199 - 11

Oh snap

The humans shot first, god damn. There has to be something going on behind the scenes here that's just way too damn stupid.

Are you talking about the Bravely Default thread today? Because I guess so, yeah. I mean, I really like Yoshida's art style, and that dude was way off base.

That's not the first time I've seen someone with a TLoU avatar be a stupid jerk.
Probably the same guy.

Yamato 06

I thought for sure
they were going to fire the wave motion gun along the satellite path
, but now that I think about it that probably wouldn't have worked anyway. Oh well, still awesome.

Poor fighter pilot whose name I can't remember.

Repairing the Yamato must be a huge burden. It's not like it's the Hiigaran mothership or anything.

Future Card Buddyfight Episode 1 (engdub)

Buddyfight is an interesting card battling system with a unique take with having the key monsters (or I guess the term from Vanguard would be Avatars) crossover into the real world and buddy and partner up with them. The crossing over even with the battles taking place on the real world terrain or in this episode the huge skyscraper with the huge sword even slashing through the entire building after summoning the hi ougi via the clouds was impressive and gives me hope for huge battles in the future.

Solid english dub at least with limited reusing of voices from cardfight vanguard, only one that is extremely apparent is Baku's voice is exactly that of Vanguard's Ali Fazil, while everyone else is hard to tell, at least from their limited lines in this episode. Gao has great energy and good personality, while Tasuku sounds most confident and impressive. I think both are my favorites with Noburo falling for third and Baku fourth.

I hope this is a successful endeavor so that we can keep getting the engDub episodes the same time as JPN is airing the episode as its really good, actiony and intense, and just fun.

Buddy Buddy Fight great ED.

[thread=745051]Even 2ch loves Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku![/thread]

Seriously, I'm shocked to see it so high considering every other week they joked about getting cancelled.

EDIT: Just realised this was posted in this thread days ago, but it was New Years Day when you should have all been recovering from the night before so don't blame me.

Dat Yamato ranking :*(

I'd put it top ten (near the bottom), but it and Aku no Hana are seriously overrated here. Aku no Hana wasn't that great as a manga and they took what little it had and turned it into a rotoscoped nightmare. Yamato is a redo of a classic with CGI ships that are pretty bad throughout and some pretty ridiculous plot points.

Uchouten Kazoku got so close ;_; That's what we should really be crying over.

You are wrong about both.

I like how the argument on AnH's is similar to why people didn't want to watch it in the first place, which is not a suitable argument on why it is overrated.

I read the entire manga, and watched quite a bit of the show. I don't like the adaptation, and the original manga featured characters doing things that I didn't believe any real person would ever do in those situations. Having said that, I enjoyed the manga more than I did this adaptation. The art style is a completely valid argument anyway for a visual medium, even if I actually hadn't read the manga and seen quite a bit of the show.

Someone quoted a dude for having an anime avatar. I don't know how you people put up with it.

AGE system ‎(◕ᴥ◕し)

AGE-1 is the most broken Gundam in the entire franchise because it has a machine to make you anything you want whenever you want out of absolutely nothing.

Just finished the second Freezing season, then reading some MAL comments...

Are people childish there or what? I also read the Manga and besides the Anime feeling a bit rushed (because of 12 eps), it was mostly a good adaption. They changed and "moved" a few scenes here and there I would still say it wasnt a bad adaption at all.

And its not really a good manga I would say, but when I read MAL it seems like its the worst adaption ever.

I also wonder if I am not the main demographic anymore. People are saying the first season was far better, while it had a lot of fanservice episodes.

When your leading argument on why Aku no Hana is overrated is basically tackling only the visual aspect of the show, it feels as if you're undermining why people enjoyed it beyond its rotoscopic nature based on that one aspect.

Thought it was a nice idea to handle the requisite tech race of that kind of show to leave room for other stuff but handled so terribly. putting the machina in deus ex machina

AGE FX is still one of the best gundam though, and burst mode even.

Anyone who says that no real person would do any of the things the characters in Aku no Hana do must have very limited experience with people who are not "normal" or like themselves. It's one of the more realistic stories in terms of characterization, especially in showing people with suppressed emotional issues. What they do, what they say, and how they go about trying to rationalize or hide from it, are not in any way unbelievable or absent from reality. That's really what makes the show harder to watch for me, more so than how ugly the rotoscope technique can be at times, because it shows the dark side of being human and troubled teenagers trying to cope with a world they can't quite adjust to.

Freezing is p. much the most misogynistic pile written by Lim Dall-young yet and that's saying something.

That might be.

Its still a guilty pleasure of mine. I just didnt understand, while the second season had much more real "story" in it, people are saying the first was better. Like I said, I also read the manga and I think it was quite well adapted, considering they had 12 episodes to do that.

Huh.

Well if that's so, I'd still hope for a second season. It was one of the nicer surprises this past season. If not I guess I'm screwed with no VN translations. Unless there are VN translations. Never checked.

Someone is working on a WA2 translation and is 10% done. Maybe in 2 years we'll see something if it doesn't get abandoned like most of these projects.

It's the crossover of the typical MAL badness & the Lim Dall-young fanbase.

Long time lurker, infrequent poster.

Marathoned the hell out of this after seeing all the recs on here. Probably my favorite series of all time now. Slightly predictable at times but hits all its notes nearly perfectly.

I'm shocked I hadn't heard of the series before I jumped in this thread during the Christmas break. Sad that it's over but what an enriching work.

The show was released incredibly slowly and so no-one really followed it as it came out, hence there was no hype for it until recently.

Not bad. I don't get the comparisons to Valvrave, though. This show isn't anywhere near as crazy.

Those mechanical designs are hella bland. Say what you will about the overdesigned look of the Valvraves, at least they were distinctive.

What bugged me was how Flit didn't build a gosh dang mass production AGE system and mass produce Gundams. Instead he horded Gundam technology for his family.

AGE FX is still one of the best gundam though, and burst mode even.

No mechanical design in AGE is the best anything. That show has terrible mechanical designs. TERRIBLE.

Wait, ANY of the things? I don't see what's so unbelievable about Saeki reading through The Flowers of Evil for the boy she liked and chasing him up a hill.

Show's over, and now I'm depressed. ;_;

Would love to get a season 2.

Need to re-arrange my AOTY list as their thoughtfulness at overloading the beginning with Hotaru x Komari fluff made it jump up 2 spots, at least.
