You're a stupid baka!
So, about Yamato... should I watch the old version first or should I jump right into it and watch 2199?
Are you talking about the Bravely Default thread today? Because I guess so, yeah. I mean, I really like Yoshida's art style, and that dude was way off base.
now you're stuck here forever
Good on them to pick up the deepest form of love.Crunchyroll got Pupa
Why in god's green earth would you want the Pom Poko BD set?
Yamato 06
I thought for sure, but now that I think about it that probably wouldn't have worked anyway. Oh well, still awesome.they were going to fire the wave motion gun along the satellite path
Poor fighter pilot whose name I can't remember.
Repairing the Yamato must be a huge burden. It's not like it's the Hiigaran mothership or anything.
Should've brought a universal constructor along for the ride.
Just ordered this from Amazon.fr

Audio: Japanese Dolby TrueHD 5.1, French DTS-HD 5.1 & 2.0

Seriously, I'm shocked to see it so high considering every other week they joked about getting cancelled.
Dat Yamato ranking :*(
I'd put it top ten (near the bottom), but it and Aku no Hana are seriously overrated here. Aku no Hana wasn't that great as a manga and they took what little it had and turned it into a rotoscoped nightmare. Yamato is a redo of a classic with CGI ships that are pretty bad throughout and some pretty ridiculous plot points.

Uchouten Kazoku got so close ;_; That's what we should really be crying over.
I like how the argument on AnH's is similar to why people didn't want to watch it in the first place, which is not a suitable argument on why it is overrated.
That's not the first time I've seen someone with a TLoU avatar be a stupid jerk.Probably the same guy.
AGE system ‎(◕ᴥ◕し
I read the entire manga, and watched quite a bit of the show. I don't like the adaptation, and the original manga featured characters doing things that I didn't believe any real person would ever do in those situations. Having said that, I enjoyed the manga more than I did this adaptation. The art style is a completely valid argument anyway for a visual medium, even if I actually hadn't read the manga and seen quite a bit of the show.
Gundam Build Fighters has the best mecha of 2013!
/biased
AGE-1 is the most broken Gundam in the entire franchise because it has a machine to make you anything you want whenever you want out of absolutely nothing.
Someone quoted a dude for having an anime avatar. I don't know how you people put up with it.

Sorry but we all know that robot goldfish from Galilei Donna is the best.Gundam Build Fighters has the best mecha of 2013!

Freezing is p. much the most misogynistic pile written by Lim Dall-young yet and that's saying something.
yeh that ending stopped it from being my AOTY
If we single out episode seven sure. Across the entirety of the series the quality is all over the place.Space Battleship Yamato 2199 has the best writing of 2013 anime, and Flowers of Evil has the best direction of 2013 anime.
Huh.
Well if that's so, I'd still hope for a second season. It was one of the nicer surprises this past season. If not I guess I'm screwed with no VN translations. Unless there are VN translations. Never checked.
It's the crossover of the typical MAL badness & the Lim Dall-young fanbase. That might be.
Its still a guilty pleasure of mine. I just didnt understand, while the second season had much more real "story" in it, people are saying the first was better. Like I said, I also read the manga and I think it was quite well adapted, considering they had 12 episodes to do that.
Long time lurker, infrequent poster.
Marathoned the hell out of this after seeing all the recs on here. Probably my favorite series of all time now. Slightly predictable at times but hits all its notes nearly perfectly.
I'm shocked I hadn't heard of the series before I jumped in this thread during the Christmas break. Sad that it's over but what an enriching work.

Thought it was a nice idea to handle the requisite tech race of that kind of show to leave room for other stuff but handled so terribly. putting the machina in deus ex machina
AGE FX is still one of the best gundam though, and burst mode even.
Anyone who says that no real person would do any of the things the characters in Aku no Hana do must have very limited experience with people who are not "normal" or like themselves. It's one of the more realistic stories in terms of characterization, especially in showing people with suppressed emotional issues. What they do, what they say, and how they go about trying to rationalize or hide from it, are not in any way unbelievable or absent from reality. That's really what makes the show harder to watch for me, more so than how ugly the rotoscope technique can be at times, because it shows the dark side of being human and troubled teenagers trying to cope with a world they can't quite adjust to.
No mechanical design in AGE is the best anything. That show has terrible mechanical designs. TERRIBLE..
