I used to not mind them, but I've totally burnt out. These are being pumped out like nothing. It's a bit excessive now. To be fair, there is only so much you can do with any given medium as more and more content is out, but at least try. This poster here shows me that they aren't even trying. Unless there is some kind of big twist that makes this show fascinating. But I doubt it.

Kazuma is the aniti- stereotypical LN MC that is not OP and does not have everyone trying to jump on his D (well, he almost talked Darkness into it, lol) The comedy can be overcooked at times, but there has really only been a couple bouts of over-board fanservice. The interactions (especially with Aqua) are hilarious and really make the show though.

The selling point of the cast is that they are all assholes.

Anemone's character is actually complex. I was expecting her to be a full-time psycho bitch of evil, but seeing her so distressed over some excruciating pain she experiences constantly unless she's given some strange drug made me feel kind of bad for her. The fact that she has a pre-made insertion point in her neck for the drug shots is even more telling, and something I can relate with since a relative of mine was once put through so many blood tests and stuff that they were really fed up with the feeling of getting their skin punctured by syringes.

And I got another crazy dream sequence that I couldn't understand. It was strange to me that Renton managed to find a house with food in it, but I was expecting that first part (before he fell asleep on the couch) to be real, and that the house might've actually been linked to the place Anemone was being held in. The weirdest thing is that it's a somewhat fantastic setting, so it was hard for me to say "alright, this makes no sense so it must be a dream".

The final moments where Eureka was behaving as if she had actually shared her dream with Renton kind of made sense in that it looks like the two of them and Anemone are now linked in some strange way, so things might get even weirder (and more interesting) soon.

I don't find Masa as interesting as Ichi does. He's a pretty weak character, and not really in a likable way. I still like the chill hang-out nature of the show otherwise.

Hmmm, I liked him and I'm usually put off by his kind. But don't let that deter you from continuing with show cause it has some surprise for you in this regard.

I wish the music was better though. Some of the tracks in this episode were dreadful.

Togashi kind of undermines Nen with Specialists and just plain magic abilities. Like you have a reasonable pokemon-esque type chart there except one type is the equivalent of "variable", and on top of that you also have this and that.

It's like Naruto with its chakra types. You had 5, then you could pair them off for 10, or even go triple for 20. That's plenty, right?

But then you had clan jutsus and bloodline limits and tailed beasts and, eventually, 15 different types of sharingans.

Araki basically says "what I say, goes", and that's all you need to know. I mean there's some rules and commonalities between stands but it's not presented as some kind of cohesive system. Even the protags are routinely shocked by what a stand can do.

There's a ton of what I like to call "specialist creep" in Hunter x Hunter where we move from specialists being rather rare to everyone being a specialist to allow for crazier fights.

Aiko is a tough girl. I do like how Doremi tried to solve things by talking with Aiko's dad before using magic. Which ended up being the correct solution. Turns out Hadzuki is sharper than she looks.

The entire gameshow was pure gold. Lol the sight of a person playing badminton in a giant chicken suit. I hope Kyoko keeps the suit(which she should since she got that TV role) the suit brings out her inner evil, its fantastic. She's come a long way already and I love that her goal has somewhat morphed from I hate Sho to I want to be a star for myself.

Ren starting to melt towards her was great. Like he was flirting, teasing her and giving her advice without realizing it. He's also a surprisingly weird guy in a lot ways, that scene where he chases Kyoko with the horror movie music lol. And its nice to see \Moko and Kyoko on the same page. The acting scenes are always super dramatic, its like a shounen fight where everyone hypes and explains everything that happens.

That's pretty much every Shonen, to be fair.

Yeah but it's weirdly specific with Hunter x Hunter - it's a kind of complexity creep rather than a straight power creep (although that clearly occurs too). The combat goes from having this very specifically, closely followed set of rules all the way through to what might as well be JoJo level stand nonsense. It's just kind of funny that Togagashi gave his rule set the backdoor of 'specialist' and then eventually abused the hell out of that backdoor.
