I'm looking at next seasons animes, and boy are there a lot of shows I'll at least check out for one reason or another:

- My Hero Academia 2
- Rage on Behamut: Virgin Soul
- That dungeon pickup spinoff thing
- Clockwork Planet
- Yuuki Yuna is a Hero 2
- Busou Shoujo Machiavellism
- Re:Creators
- Rokudenashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Records
- Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho

And that's just with a cursory glance and mostly shows I'm at least somewhat familiar with the source material, or prequel, there are likely more.

At least half of those will probably turn out to be shit, but hey!
the shows on my check out list are;
Shingeki no Kyojin Season 2
Boku no Hero Academia 2nd Season
Tsugumomo (only if funimation picks it up for a dub otherwise it will likely be a skip)
Souryo to Majiwaru Shikiyoku no Yoru ni...
Rokudenashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Records
Sakurada Reset
Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism (again dependent on a funimation dub)
Clockwork Planet
Renai Boukun
Quan Zhi Gao Shou
Eromanga-sensei (Im curious how the next story from the creator of Oremo turned out :p)
Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho
Fukumenkei Noise
Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii desu ka?
Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka Gaiden: Sword Oratoria
Re:Creators

shows I have been meaning to finish the first season of but haven't
Uchouten Kazoku 2
Shingeki no Bahamut: Virgin Soul

aka by far the season with the most shows I want to check out in a long time. even if only half of them are any good I will be watching way more shows than usual this season.

What I'm interested in next season in order of excitement:

Eccentric Family S2 - Pump it in my veins!
Kabukibu - The PV doesn't look exceptional, but I'll continue to hold out hope for this due to being fond of director Yoneda and hearing good things about the source material.
Alice to Zouroku - The PV looks really charming with an attractively gentle aesthetic, and the odd couple pairing makes for an interesting premise.
Atom the Beginning - I have to check this out just for Takashi Aoki's monitor graphics.
Seikaisuru Kado - The production is so bizarre that I can't help but be intrigued to see how it turns out.
Rage of Bahamut: Virgin Soul - I guess. Ambitious production again, if nothing else.
Boruto - The character animation in the PV looks loose and playful.

That's about it. Looks like a fairly light season as of now, but I won't complain as long as Eccentric Family S2 delivers.

Only looking forward to Tomica Hyper Rescue Drive Head Kidou Kyuukyuu Keisatsu this season.

That's about it. I'll probably just watch the good scenes from the MHA anime having read the manga.

All I know about and am interested in from next season is Eccentric Family S2. I'm sure I'll pick up some other shows, but I have no idea what yet.

For me its:

Shingeki no Kyojin Season 2
Boku no Hero Academia 2nd Season
Tsugumomo (the manga's a REALLY guilty pleasure, shut up)
Sword Oratoria (Apparently it's like Index to Railgun, remove the male MC and his sidekick, and the series becomes much better)

Like every other season, if a show gets enough positive buzz, I'll pick it up.

Will Attempt to Watch
Alice to Zouroku
Boku no Hero Academia 2 (Please don't be the same shit adaption that was the first season)
Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism (The source material is okay, a bear appears in it)
CLOCKWORK PLANET (Decent source material, could see Xebec doing good with it)
Natsume Yuujinchou Roku (Hopefully Studio Shuka does a better job this time around)
Renai Boukun (Fun source material, though the PV for the show isn't great...)
SAKURA QUEST
Shingeki no Bahamut: VIRGIN SOUL
Shingeki no Kyojin 2 (Going to be interesting to see how they try to adapt this part..)
Tsugumomo (This is going to be horrible compared to the source material....but I'll watch it anyway)
Uchouten Kazoku 2

May Pick Up and Watch
ATOM: THE BEGINNING
Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka Gaiden: Sword Oratoria
Hinako Note
Re:CREATORS
Rokudenashi Majutsu Koushi to Kinki Kyouten
SAGRADA RESET
Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho

Yes I am incredibly intrigued by how AoT 2 is going to turn out. If they play their cards right, it could be as much of a hit as the first season. But if we go by the source material... Idk. I've mentioned time and time again how I simply couldn't stand waiting month after month for a plot that was going into politics and away from what made the series cool. Maybe the weekly format will suit that arc well if they decide to adapt it all. Maybe they will fast forward through it. Either way, it's going to be interesting for sure.

More dungeon pickup yess

Attack on Titan ep.1
Time to get caught up before S2 airs in a couple weeks....
Oh my, that ending was both epic (amazing music and good visuals) and just brutal as fuck. I wasn't expecting the
absolute carnage
so soon, even with all of the foreshadowing they did beforehand. The mother's voice actor was excellent and I'm looking forward to more. Watching the Dub, like with Nana..

Yeah, the Dungeon Pickup Spinoff only follows Blandy McUninteresting Cardboardface so I'm not exactly all about that but to be fair her supporting cast is alright and there were some exceptional fights in the manga so if the fights pop in this version it'll be worth a watch.

I forgot Clockwork Planet got adapted. The manga is pretty inconsistent and the MC starts off as someone you'd think would be irritating but he quickly proves to be the dude who gets shit done so it turns out okay. The secondary heroine sure does give up at the drop of a hat and fall into despair every chapter only to be talked out of it tho so that probably won't be any less annoying in anime form.

Tsugumomo is must watch just to see how big of a trainwreck it is and how badly (or goodly) they translate the artist's fights (and labias) to anime.

Hopefully watching Eccentric Family week to week for only 20-some-odd minutes at a time will keep me from falling asleep to it like the first season did. Really want to like it but man it just did nothing for me.

Where's my Aiki anime?!?!

Star Driver 20ish

If you rated this show on the strength of the last 5 minutes of each episode it'd be a 8/10 or 9/10 really enjoyable action show. But fuck the stuff pre-ceding it is mostly so tedious.

Biggest problem i have is that the main 3 characters are all complete flat-lines. I literally have no interest in any of them and have no idea why either guy is particularly interested in Wako over every other girl in the school.

Are we making lists now for next season?

Okay then...

Will Watch:
Shingeki no Kyojin Season 2
Boku no Hero Academia 2nd Season
Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata ♭

Maybe:
Sword Oratoria
Clockwork Planet
Busou Shoujo Machiavellism
Sakurada Reset
Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii desu ka?
Re:Creators
Uchouten Kazoku 2
Kabukibu!
(After Konosuba this season I am willing to give Studio Deen a shot)

Spring 2017 -

Hell yeah:

Eccentric Family S2

Will Watch:

Eotans S2
Bahamut Virgin Soul
Sakura Quest

.....I think thats it? Not like I'm complaining. Persona and Zelda can take up those hours I would spend watching bad anime. If BokuHero looks like the Blu-Ray fixed version of S1 then I'll watch that.

All I know I'm watching next season is Attack on Titan and My Hero Academia. I might check out a few more things but I might just cool it after watching so much shit this season.

*sees synopsis of Sakurada Reset*

Nearly half the population of Sakurada, a small town near the Pacific Ocean, has some sort of unique power. These powers range from being able to enter the mind of a cat, to resetting the world back to a certain point in time in the past. There is a group known as the "Kanrikyoku" that controls and monitors the use of these powers. Asai Kei and Haruki Misora work for their school's club called "Houshi" club, which execute any missions received from the Kanrikyoku. Misora has the ability to reset the world 3 days. This means that all events and any memory of the past 3 days that "could have" happened, never happened. Kei has the ability to "remember" the past. Even after Misora uses her powers to reset the world back 3 days, Kei will retain those 3 days in his memory. Combining their powers, these two solve missions issued by the Kanrikyoku.

That's potentially interesting I guess?

I wonder if anyone is gonna bring up how horrifying Misora's power is.

Tales of Zestiria 22

Ok this was a super great episode! I loved the early start with the more late happy times for the main group. Sorey teasing Mikleo with the dessert knowing he can't go take one himself was super funny. Best boy duo! I love em!

Then we reach the fight and I am like....holy shit! These aren't bats!

But this gave use such an awesome fight scenes! Showing us how much much much more OP anime Sorey is. I mean God damn that aerial fight was absolutely fantastic! Ufotable absolutely delivered. And for once Sorey did not hesitate to kill. He knows he can't afford to do it.

Bonus is that we got an ultra cool episode in term of Armatization! Japanese Tales fan must have wet their pants when that armatization happened lol.

Lunarre had a cool moment, but the way he
died was kind of weird.

Overall fantastic episode! Really loving the original content, which is everything at this point. A bunch of the game story is just cut at this point.

Edit: Also got to point it out but that ending skit was super cute with Mikleo teasing Sorey! Payback! haha

What the hell is Tsugumomo?

Kazuya Kagami never goes anywhere without the precious "Fukurobi" his mother gave him. One day a beautiful, kimono-clad girl named Kiriha appeared before him. Kiriha naturally began to live with Kazuya in his room. Then there's Chisato, Kazuya's childhood friend with glasses and a ponytail, who meddles in his affairs. Soon there's also an overprotective older sister who seems to want to take baths with him. Jumble in a huge-chested priestess, a good-looking sorceress named Kokuyoura, beautiful women, and hot girls, and Kazuya's happy, embarrassing, confusing life begins…

ANNNNNNIIIIIIIMMMMMMMMEEEEEE

I've said it before (and no one listened to me) and it bears repeating:

Tsugumomo is a manga that has both the best drawn fight scenes in manga today in paneling, choreography, kinetic motion and weight as well as being as close as you can get to hardecore spread labia anatomy porn.

The mangaka has gone on the record as stating if he wasn't allowed to draw his spread eagle beaver shots and surprisingly realistic body types, he wouldn't be drawing the manga. So there is no hope that the manga ever gets rid of that shit.

For every great fight, awesome character development or emotional pay-off you have 5 pages of naked girls rubbing their shit on a teenage boy and getting him to jizz or spreading each other's labias to inspect them (he REALLY has a thing for this). A lot of them are underage.

As things stand, Tsugumomo is a manga I love to read because everything that's not the porn is actually very very good but I can literally never recommend to anyone because the fan-service is so incredibly off-putting that if you are not dead inside like myself and can just ignore or skip it, it will make you sick or possibly get you on a watch list.

That said, the anime should be a fucking shitshow so I'm eager to see it.

"How can I look at myself in the mirror and say I'm creating something worthwhile if there's no art that could potentially get my readers put on a watchlist?"

That's potentially interesting I guess?

I wonder if anyone is gonna bring up how horrifying Misora's power is.

Nah, if Higurashi has taught me anything it's that the the ability that's actually horrifying is Kei's, since keeping memories of all alternate timelines would seriously hamper his/her sense of self at the very least, and could even lead to PTSD if the reset is used to avoid a bad end or something. Of course it depends on the writing's tone, but it could go to some dark places even if things don't turn out to be as grim as in Re:Zero.

Heck, it could even be used for a tragic romantic arc were Kei gets to remember all the things that could've been but didn't due to Misora being forced to reset things due to some external circumstance.

...Now that I think about it, I'd really like it if we got that kind of show rather than a lighthearted story revolving around voluntary groundhog day loops. It doesn't have to be about breaking Kei, but it'd probably be interesting if the writers decided to tackle how much of a stain being forced to relive events would be, on top of the butterfly effect that would result from one character knowing what's going to happen. Like, is fate inalterable to an extent like in JoJo DiU, or does Kei have to be extra-careful about making sure he doesn't deviate from his previous actions at all in order to keep desireable events stable across timelines?

Fuck. It WAS on my list, but now...

You have nothing to worry about. No way in hell the worst parts of the series in terms of "that" are ever going to be broadcasts. It only gets that way later on in the series, and the anime won't make it that far anyway.

Also, I'm surprised you're just now watching AoT.

Finally decided to get back to my ultimate Gundam-athon where I watch from chronological release to end of the entire franchise. Gundam Wing is something I loved as a teen, but upon rewatch kinda hated. I started rewatching it in Japanese while working on my Models, but I really think it's best experienced with the mediocre dub that didn't quite figure out how to work the lip-syncing pauses between lines.

Wife is half-watching, she hates most of Gundam outside of Origins, G Gundam and IBO. She so far seems to enjoy it for the 'dumb fun' aspect. I'm getting a bit more into it myself this time. I particularly enjoyed their instructions for using TWAIN. I'd been meaning to use it for ages:

As far as next season goes Wife and I will still check everything out but I think these are the shows I'm most excited for, based on previous seasons/what little I know from the synopsis and artwork:

MHA S2 (Actually will contain a part of the manga I've never read)
AoT S2 (will be interested to see if they can unborify some of the upcoming content)
Alice & Zouroku (looks cute)
On a Lustful Night Mingling with a Priest... (I can't decide if this'll be good or hilariously bizarre)
Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor (Could be fun...?)
Sakurada Reset
Sakura Quest
Clockwork Planet
KADO: The Right Answer
Eromanga-sensei
ID-0 (I'm a slave to Mech stuff. Well unless the first episode is garbage.)
Sin: The Seven Deadly Sins (I need a good ecchi)
Sword Oratoria (I liked DanMachi?)
Atom: The Beginning (I love Astro Boy stuff.)
Re:Creators (Mech slave again)
