I don't know about the other shows, but we got Jojo. Part 3 of Jojo. Stardust Crusaders. I'm fine making premature statements with that as I know its going to be hype as fuck.

SDBurton's just so used to the cheap commoner's brand of yuri that when confronted with yuri in its ultimate, purest and most perfected form, well, it was simply too much for him to handle.

Birdy the Mighty Decode Season 1
Decided to watch this this weekend. It's a fairly interesting premise. Felt that initially both protagonists were kind of bad but as the show went on they got less on my nerves as the show went on. Birdie was reasonably likeable by the end and Tsutomi while still a fairly useless protagonist, had an interesting plot development. A lot of the side characters felt like fluff though.

I am a bit annoyed that Tsutomi didn't get to be with Nakasugi since I like them as a couple even if it was partially fake. With his body destroyed again, it sort of feels like a reset all in all

My god. The visuals in this episode. The gorgeous use of light and dark was amazing on its own, but then all that unnatural eye stuff as well... It was just mesmerising, all of it. My god.
And to be honest, even with no visuals at all this episode would have been remarkable. The whole concept of "closing your second eyelids"...it really captures the imagination. And it's remarkable how invested the show managed to make me feel in these characters in such a short space of time. There's a real...intimacy? to it all.
I can certainly see why people have so much praise for this show.

Blue Exorcist The Movie
I watched the dub version of this last night. The visuals were fucking crazy. The city was full of so much detail. I was surprised they put so much work into this aspect.
I was hoping for a good fight scene like the Rin/Amaimon fight in the show but they were going for large scale action pieces here. It was a pretty low key movie aside from the 2 big action pieces.
I still don't get why Yukio would ever bring Rin and Shiemi (especially Shiemi) along for missions when all they do is fuck things up for him but they had to get the story going somehow.
I hope they make another movie or season and introduce a good female character because the main 3 girls (Shiemi, Izumo and Shura) so far are horrible. Maybe they get better in the manga but I haven't read any of that.

Translation is alright , almost great.
Someday I'll have a tag and it'll be something un fun like related to Hyouka or something.

After an episode about eyes, now we have an episode about ears.
And this episode was notable in that it lends itself to practical experimentation.
I doubt anyone has watched this episode without trying the whole covering-your-ears-with-your-hands thing for themselves. And it's true, it really is more noisy than when you're not covering them. I found myself comparing the noise of covering my ears to the background noise in the episode's flashback scene with the volcano, and the resemblance was remarkable.
I haven't actually watched a lot of yuri anime, come to think of it. Never started Sasameki Koto, and the only other pseudo-yuri I guess I've seen would be Candy Boy, which was also... kind of weird

If you're ever in the mood to watch a legit good show that just so happens to feature yuri then give Aoi Hana a shot. You know it's good because it bombed horribly and there's no chance in hell a second season ever gets made.
