With hints of other GTAV SKUs, will you be strong enough to wait?

Yeah, can't play it on current gen consoles right now, I'll get it when it comes out on PC or when I get a PS4 sometime next year maybe. Not really in a hurry, enough other good games coming out.
 
I'm not waiting. Buying it on Tuesday via ps3 bundle.

It makes more sense for them to NOT release before the holidays. GTA V is in high demand and they want to capitalize on current gen sales THROUGH the holidays. They'll release the next gen versions, PC included, in the spring to get all the double dippers
 
Totally waiting for a PS4 version or a PC version at the very least. There are a bunch of other games to play while waiting. Plus, by the time a PS4/PC version is available, we will have the real picture, not IGN's wallet filling one.
 
Will be one of the easiest double dips in history for me.

The main reason I want a PS4 version of GTA5 is for the Share button functionality. These types of games that revolve around the pure randomness of events, the various flows of the missions and just unforeseen insanity ( especially online ) are tailor made for the Share functionality of the PS4.
 
The wait will be easy.

I have tons of amazing games on PC to play, just got a 3DS XL and playing through games on there, and picking up a PS3 on Black Friday so I will have even more games to play.

Then you get to early 2014 with Titanfall and Dark Souls II. At that point, I can wait until GTAV is available quite cheaply.

I've got no choice. I sold my PS3 the day before they announced the $199 SKU and got over two hundred for my console so I could pay for the PS4. Now I'm just hoping these rumors are true so I can play it.
 
If they told us a date, then i could make a better judgement.

If they megaton us by releasing it this year, then I will be pissed I bought the 360 version...

..but if it's next year like 6 months from now, then i don't really care. I'd rather play it now.
 
Nope. I thought I would, but no way.

I'm buying it now, then buying the GOTY Edition with full DLC on next gen.
 
I ridiculously caved in and preordered the digital psn version despite being on Rockstar's case about the unannounced but probably coming this fall pc release several times on neogaf. My willpower in situations like this is a joke and I clearly deserve to be exploited by Rockstar until I am poor and empty inside.
 
After my immense disappointment with IV, I have no problems waiting for the PC version. Give me a chance to find out if V is a letdown too.

That'll give'm time to add features which would give another reason to double-dip.
 
We'll see. Right now I'm waiting for the PC version, I can't stand 720p/30fps gaming any more but the hype after release might be too much for me to not cave in and buy the console version. I really hope I can remain strong, I don't want my first experience with the game to be a subpar one technically.

Rockstar does its own thing, however, they can easily announce next gen version later this year, so sales of the currently known SKUs are not affected.

You people who are saying you'll double dip if the next-gen stuff turns out to be true. Let's say they're not true, and come this time next year the PC version has been released and there's no whispers of a next gen version, what happens? GTA5 on consoles is still for sale, and for like $20!
 
Wont get a penny from me until they do GTA V on PC. Even then, it has to be discounted. No point in supporting a developer at full price, who chooses to ignore PC gamers when they just had a good thing going on with Max Payne 3.
 
If it wasn't for GTAV I might have already sold my PS3. I will double dip easily for GTA, I just hope a proper enhanced version does come to PS4. There's no guarantee.
 
Nope, I'm going to receive the game on Tuesday, put in in the grinder, shred it to microscopic pieces, and then inject it into my veins.
 
Waiting if it turns out on Wii U. Would love to have a handy map on Gamepad - and also free multiplayer. If it doesn't show up - or the information about it - then I'll get on 360.
 
No way in hell I'm playing sub 720p, sub 30fps version of this game.

I'll play it when a decent version is out, PS4 or PC, whatever comes first.

Seconded. I had too much fun with Saints Row 4 and too little with GTA 4 to pick up GTA 5 before I'm sure it's going to click with me. Hoping it'll be amazing, and that I'll be able to play it for the first time on the PS4.

I think it will be a year away, rockstar will no doubt wait till they see big numbers in the units and rerelease with a DLC pack on next gen and PC
 
nope. was gonna wait for ps4 version. week ago i caved and got 360 version, and even then with all the streams of GTAV over this weekend i would have caved by now no matter what.

but, that being said, i only have this 360 along with my other gaming stuff till ps4 is out, then i purge to start fresh. so obviously when GTAV comes around on there, i will happily re-buy the game. i'll probably be fiending for it again by that point.
 
I'm getting it on console. What I'm hoping for is that when it comes out to PC/PS4, there will be some kind of DLC or extra content available.

Though I'll probably buy it on one of those platforms either way.
 
Not a big fan of the series (I remember when GTA IV got perfect scores, such a let down), so I will wait for the PS4 complete version when it is cheap.
 
There is no reason to buy the lower res, slower version when the wait isn't likely to be longer than a few months. Also, after the GTA4/MP3 shitshows, I'm in no hurry to jump on Rockstar's latest output until I've seen how it turned out.
 
I don't mind double dipping, GTAIV is still among my favorite games to this day and I know I'll love playing through the game a second time down the line. This way I can play the game as intended on the PS3 and when the PC release comes out I'll use mods and what have you if I feel like it.

Just don't really feel like waiting given the console versions seem perfectly competent and hold 30 FPS most of the time going by impressions. Looking forward to playing online with other people as well, it'll be fun to compare the 16 player online with the likely 32 player upgrade that the PC version should get going by GTAIV.
 
Why wait? Always look at now, later could never come. If the game is better on another platform with additional content, then I'll get it there. Vice City Stories was one such game. On PSP when it came out, it was dope. On PS2 it was doper.
 
Will definitely double dip for the PS4 version. Would be icing on the cake if I could transfer my GTA Online player data to the PS4 version.
 
Yes and no. I won't be buying it until the PC version comes out which will be a day one purchase... but my roommate is getting it on his 360 and works when I do not. I played GTAIV for a long time on the 360 before it ever came out on PC too. Hopefully the PC release of V isnt' as horribly unoptomized.
