War of the Planet of the Apes should hopefully open to 70 million.
Because this is what I predicted
Why doesn't the stakes be actual steaks?Unlike Spidey, there are no stakes involved with the Apes predictions in here.
Or, as some would think, much like Spidey, there are no stakes.
I want to go to an apes screening, standup and shout "Trukkk not Monkey!!!" then walk out.
Why see Arrival when you can see Contact? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Just because you wanted Morbius as the villain doesn't mean we all did, friend.Or, as some would think, much like Spidey, there are no stakes.

Spidey's gonna drop 55-60% yes?
Word of mouth on it is pretty good, but it doesn't seem to be catching like, say, Guardians 2 did.
Morbius is lame. Now if Stegron had been in the movie, then Homecoming would have passed the billion mark easily.

Thor 3 is gonna get the Jeff Goldblum bump then. The Kurt Russell bump
Eh.
I'll be getting Scorpion, so I'm a happy dude either way.

I feel like it's going to drop 60% if not a little more because, as I suspected, it doesn't appear to be expanding beyond the usual Marvel audience.
We'll see soon enough.
I hope they go Big Time Scorpion when he was so OP
I'm counting on it.
Especially after seeing what they did with Vulture.
How Sony/Marvel going to do a better Archangel then Fox?
I fucking hate wing powersets, but I love Homecoming Vulture

They got Weapon X Logan right though!
I don't wanna talk about X-Men Apocalypse and what it did to Archangel.
Nevermind Apocalypse himself (for the record, it's not his powerset or anything like that, but I don't think they nailed his design all too well).
Worse horsemen ever, had more time standing around then they did actually fighting.
The ancient horsemen were cool
I'm not really surprised that the 6th Spider-Man movie since 2002 and the 3rd time we've seen Peter Parker in high school is only having a good run instead of a great run.
THOSE guys should've been the ones featured in the film.
Also had the best X-Men titles intro. I dug it.
Too bad it only set up my disappointment.
That's all that matters thoughIt is the best opening for a superhero movie this year though.

I think a lot of people looked at Homecoming as a good MCU movie that featured Spider-Man instead of a major Spider-Man movie. If that makes any sense.Yeah, I think in one of the other BO threads my reasoning for lowballing was something like "The primary emotion this film will engender if it's good will be relief, not excitement."
Relief is good. Restoring confidence is good. But it's also not the sort of fuel that rockets ticket sales.
Lies. It hasn't hit a billion yet.
Wait, wait, wait....,
Tranformers 5 has been out for three weeks and it's worldwide total is still only just over $500m?!

That can't be right...., can it?!

I'm surprised BoM is only predicting 6.9 million this weekend for Wonder Woman.

Seems low.
The benefit of Spiderman Homecoming not sucking shows up in the sequel.
Man the franchise didn't taper off, it cratered
