Yeah. This was a fun thread but now it just seems like it's so far off base.

This thread was always going to fall into disaster.

If he ever makes that crow thread, that one's going to be a warzone
that I will actively avoid and just eat popcorn instead

I deleted my document of all the insane quotes from the crow thread yesterday. Decided against making it.

Bronson you ignored my Creed peace offering! :(

Surely there are iCloud backups?
I mean I purposely deleted it. I decided not to make the thread.

Someone else can have fun making it if they want but it won't be me. Some amazing things were said in the thread. My favorite being someone declaring Star Wars will beat Avengers is no different than those who picked TMNT to beat Guardians of the Galaxy, that Star Wars only appeals to niche nostalgia like TMNT.

And the one dude with a Pikachu avatar relentlessly claiming kids don't like Star Wars.

You want to give me shit for snark when you're basically the Snark Jedi.

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa what in the blue hell do you think you're doing? You want to boo The Star Wars Fanbase, then you lose the sing-a-long privilege! You can't use the term "Snark Jedi". So all you Jabroni's can go to hell or back to the Creed thread.

Both times I've been to the McDonalds near the local cinema, I haven't been able to park because its so busy. Usually a few dozen cars.

Really curious how today and tomorrow perform just because I know many theaters close early and open late tomorrow. I think that'll eat into the weekend numbers but imagine Saturday and Sunday being huge just with Christmas falling on Friday.

Basically I'm rambling for no reason

I think this was posted earlier in the thread, but Box Office Mojo had posted an article back on Tuesday that basically used Avatar's first week as a model for The Force Awakens. . I don't know that at the time, people were willing to use that as a base, but considering they basically got Wednesday right by using it, I thought I'd post it here for people to have at.

Monday: $40.1 M (33.76% drop) / $288.1 M (actual)
Tuesday: $37.4 M (6.85% drop) / $325.4 M (actual)
——- Wed-Sun projections based on Avatar first week dailies ——-
Wednesday: $38.2 M (2.23% increase) / $363.6 M
Thursday: $25.9 M (32.19% drop) / $389.5 M
Friday: $53.6 M (107.11% increase) / $443.2 M
Saturday: $65.7 M (22.43% increase) / $508.8 M
Sunday: $56.3 M (14.24% drop) / $565.2 M ($175.6 M weekend)

I know, when I went to bed (before whatever happened in here actually happened) we were thinking 160 mil was pretty possible. This calls for 175, so I don't know about ALL that just yet, BUT: Is a 26 mil Christmas Eve solid-ish?

Tomorrow is going to be huge. Christmas Day is always one of the biggest box office days every year Star Wars or no Star Wars.

You guys need me back.

So who'll be the first one of the new cast members to feel the SW curse? I got Daisy Ridley. She just comes off as too sweet, and innocent. Like she has a dark secret that she is hiding from the public.

No, man. This shit was dumb last night. It's not any smarter this morning.

From that Tuesday BOM article:

For a full visual, the days ahead for Star Wars could look like this if it followed the exact same, daily path as Avatar:

Monday: $40.1 M / $288.1 M
Tuesday: $39.4 M (1.83% drop) / $327.5 M
Wednesday: $40.3 M (2.23% increase) / $367.7 M
Thursday: $27.3 M (32.19% drop) / $395. M
Friday: $56.5 M (107.11% increase) / $451.5 M
Saturday: $69.2 M (22.43% increase) / $520.7 M
Sunday: $59.4 M (14.24% drop) / $580.1 M ($185M weekend)

For those interested in records, the largest second weekend of all-time is $106.5 million, set by Jurassic World earlier this year, which most certainly will fall. Star Wars also has a legitimate shot at the largest Tuesday of all-time, currently $35 million set by The Amazing Spider-Man. The numbers above would also make Star Wars the fastest film to top $300, $350, $400, $450, $500 and $550 million. In fact, it took Jurassic World 17 days to cross $500 million, by this math it would take Star Wars only nine.

I think the connotation of "eating crow" is too negative. It'll just piss people off and then everyone is angry and that's how arguments and bans and closed threads happen.

If we named it something more light hearted, like "Lets look back and laugh at some of the pre-Force Awakens posts" it might be better. Maybe.

Go for it if you want! I am waving my rights on that thread.

26 today would be great, anything higher is gravy. It'll make up for it this weekend. I remember reading that Christmas Day was the 3rd highest for advanced ticket sales behind opening Thursday and Friday, and that was a while ago. SW is still rated 100/100 at Fandango in anticipation; that rating has only been given four times and SW is the only movie to get the rating in back-to-back weekends. Gonna be huge.

It ends in bodies either way. It's a real bad look; people can get predictions wrong. Kind of the nature of the beast. And like someone said, The Cunt Wars have already started. That won't make it any better.

Can Marvel let RDJ out to play so he can make another Sherlock because those are bangin

IIRC, a new Sherlock film is on WB more than Downey being too busy for another one.

It's still kinda weird to me those movies ever actually happened. The first one felt like this weird, ungainly combo of Lethal Weapon and BATMAN. But you know... British and muddy.

I liked it. Still haven't seen the second one. But man, early in the Marvel days, people were using that movie to compare RDJ to Will Smith.

Completely in agreement just curious

Sherlock Holmes $25 million.

BBC's Sherlock destroyed any interest in another version. Even Elementary is supposedly being cancelled soon.

Who would've thought that Sherlock Holmes had elite slow mo tech for fights

I also think Bronson should make a LiveJournal.

I don't think there is a single Star Wars fans that loves EVERYTHING about it. I doubt there are long essays on why the film Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure is superior to Schindler's List.

The only franchise I know of that has some hardcore fans that will defend to the death every single piece of media released for it is some MCU fans currently. And even then the they are very few and far between. I guess some fans of the various Young Adult franchises too. But I am too old to even know any hardcore Divergent, Maze Runner or Hunger Games kiddies.

I've never met an MCU fan that unabashedly loves everything in the franchise without criticism. Same goes for Star Wars fans and the entirety of the IP.

The only type of fan like that I've come across that would fit that description are Harry Potter fans. HP fans are fuckin devoted, yo. But funny enough, I don't find them annoying or overbearing at all.
