BvS must save us from our Disney Overlords.
No.Is there a chance Suicide Squad beats Batman v Superman domestically?
ITT: I learn that there's a 2016 Star Wars movie. I've been pretty tuned out of the plans pre-TFA release as part of my spoilers avoidance. Had no idea. :lolFor fun, top 5 as I see it for 2016 box-office right now:
2016:
1. Rogue One
2. Captain America: Civil War
3. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
4. Independence Day: Resurgence
5. X-Men: Apocalypse
If I'm Disney in remake 4 5 6 post episode nine
I don't think Suicide Squad is the type of movie parents will be taking kids to. You need kids to get the big money. Is there a chance Suicide Squad beats Batman v Superman domestically?
WBs either gonna have a real fun or a real sad 2016

They need a great 2016 to make up for all their flops this year.
Mad Max didn't go ok. They spent more on marketing it the. Disney did TFA. No way they profited off of it.We all saw the flops coming though, ya? Creed and Mad Max did OK. Might be able to tune franchises out of em.
there's gonna be a Star Wars movie every year for the rest of our lives, so get ready

Bigger draw with adults. Little kids no. The little kids with Batman backpacks are what matter more than those who even know what comic con is in terms of super hero box office.Ice cold water in the face, friend.
Fair point I suppose. Part of me thinks Joker is a bigger draw than either Batman or Superman right now and the Suicide Squad Comic-Con video has more views and likes than the Batman v Superman trailer.
Creed is a flop bro.
In a more serious note. I wonder how long they'll wait for Ep X-XII
Intentional troll cause Bronson is pimping it sooooo much.
I want the Obi Wan spinoff set between EpIII and EpIV.
Obi Wan drifting between shady Tattoine hangouts, narrating his loneliness, becoming an alcoholic.
At the end he recognises Luke is his chance at redemption.
"I saw him again out past the Toshi station blockade, 20 years old, maybe less. He appeared like an angel out of this filthy mess. They. Cannot. Touch. Him."
I am surprised at some of the Rogue One posts. Did you guys not see the picture released of it a few months back? Felicity Jones is the lead. Two Wars films in a row with female leads.
Or the first teaser?

I still don't get why WB spent so much on marketing Mad Max.
Mad Max is a classic example of a blockbuster movie that just should not have released in the summer. It needed room to feel like an event. I'm not sure how realistic it would have been to move up the release date, but WB should have gone for this weekend instead.
It was an amazing movie but 200 million, more than TFA? Crazy.Because it's the best moviethe studio madethis year
Because it's the best moviethe studio madethis year
Exactly. Which is why it was such a waste of money for WB to try and to market it as one.Mad Max was never ever going to be a movie "event". No matter what date it released.

I guess it's depends on your definition of event. 300 made $70M in the first weekend of March back in 2007. Mad Max is also a stylish R-rated blockbuster, and had some truly amazing reviews. I think a $70M opening would have happened if it wasn't in the shadow of other films.Mad Max was never ever going to be a movie "event". No matter what date it released.
May 2017 and May 2019.
I think Mad Max was supposed to be another trilogy, it was a double-down after the positive reviews and production budget. But that's a hard sell especially without China
I want studios going absolutely apeshit trying to sell the best movies they've made all year. I'd love for that to be the norm.
"I can't believe they spent $90 million getting trailers/commercials all over Monday Night Football for "Spotlight,"
I would fucking LOVE that.

I think if Mad Max releases in August, it probably does better financially.
But there's always like 2 or 3 films every year that you look at and go "Shit. They scheduled that WAY wrong"
