Yeah, you are good to go.

Woo! Got Jadefang's minipet. :3

Camped it while doing (gag) arenas for conquest points.

And I'm finding that for the first time I'm enjoying arena. Why, I don't know. Always fucking hated it before. Shrug.

Still horribly balanced, though. WoW was not made for small group PvP.

Gotta hate a WoW community where people do not report afks in a BG and gotta hate blizzard for continuing this to be allowed to happen. Twin Peaks 4 afks for my alliance faction.

Clearly not enough bans are being handed out quick enough.

Pyramid of punishment my ass.

What's the best Rogue leveling spec and rotation?

Get a nice, slow (2.6 speed) weapon and a fast offhand weapon (1.3-1.4 preferred not sure how many there are like that at low level) and spec Combat. Put deadly poison offhand instant poison main hand.

Don't even bother stealthing or anything, just run into a mob, sinister strike once, slice and dice and then continue to spam sinister strike until you have 5cp then Eviscerate. Fortunately you have Blade Flurry and Killing Spree so you can take on multiple mobs or elites by yourself in combination with Evasion and Vanish is there in case anything goes wrong.

This is the most efficient leveling spec but it does get very boring as your rotation really doesn't change. I think that new ability Revealing Strike might fit in the rotation since last I leveled from 1-80 on my Rogue we didn't have that. I leveled to 85 in Assassination just because I had better daggers.

Well thankfully we did a complete reversal from last week, even down 2 regular raiders forcing 2 people to play OS,we dropped the TB boss, Magmaw and Omnotron in about 2 hours.

It's a little depressing how raped for mana I seem to be verses the other healing classes (I'm a holy priest), I'm literally using all the tools at my disposal to not OOM wheras the Pally OS healer never dipped below 60% while doing great hps.

dang.. I thought you guys were shitting me on new maelstrom prices.... nope.. about 2K each now (previously about 930). Fortunately it's still cheaper for me to SELL my BOEs than shard them. Selling dreamless belt's for between 4-5K each right now.. might even jack my trade chat announces up to 6K obo and if it doesn't sell for a day or two, then advertise belts or mended breeches for 10K obo.

anyway, have 7K on me right now. Most gold I've EVER had in wow by far.. thinking about trying to piece together a volcano deck buying out embers cards on the AH when they pop up for sub 2K.

Leveling as combat is about to get even better as now we'll have unlimited cleave with the change to blade flurry.

Any good reason to stay in Zul'Drak? I quested the shit out of Howling Fjord, Borean Tundra, Dragonblight and Grizzly Hills, but I'm already 77 so I'm thinking I'll get a level in Scholazar Basin, Storm Peaks and Ice Crown. I did roughly three quests in Zul'Drak, but it hasn't really grabbed me.

The beginning stuff in Zul'Drak (where you end up impersonating the Scourge) is pretty cool. And the quest where you ride around on a giant is pretty fun, but the zone does kind of sputter out by the end.

I ended up skipping the large majority of Zul'Drak and did a fair amount of S Basin, I didn't end up doing all the hunting quests. Some cool quests there, like the burning plane, but it did a thing I really hate. I don't like it when you follow a chain all the way through only for the final quest to be a group quest.

Anyway, fun and games. I'm 78 now so I'm heading for Storm Peaks and then at 79 Ice Crown. I've heard good things about both.

Then afterwards I'm thinking about Vashiir, but I could be sold on Mount Hyjal.

In terms of the lore, Hyjal all the way. The end result is some epic feat. :D
honestly both vashj'ir and hyjal end with epic storylines. for me vashj'ir wins though because the "epic" midsection is cooler IMHO than the midsection in hyjal. although hyjal has a phasing spot that's kind of cool.

really liked both, but vashj'ir gets the slight nod from me. However I also leveled through vashj'ir, and did hyjal (and then Twilight) at 85 already.

Hyjal is a more 'traditional' zone. Overworld, trees, towns, etc. It does take you from place to place, but there's less cutscenes then other zones, and less in the way of vehicle/etc/ sections. But it's very good and very epic and has good use of phasing.

Vash'jir is unlike any other zone in the game, but it kind of drags (there's WAY too many quest hubs and your first quest in each one is usually "kill 10 of THESE naga this time")

I'd also recommend looking through all the Reputation rewards and see which ones have items for your class and spec.

You can hit at least hit Honored for most of them and get some good blues at 83 and get a nice head start into Revered and Exalted for the level 85 stuff.

Vashj'ir is definitely too long - it's about twice the length of Hyjal.

Personally, I preferred Hyjal - been wanting to see the area for a long time.

Vash'jir is technically 3 zones and it really does drag along.

However it's a really unique environment (the most original out of the Cataclysm content) so I'd recommend everyone do it at least once.

I don't think the storyline is anything worth writing home about, Hyjal, Uldum and Twilight Highlands have far more epic and enjoyable storylines.

Vashj'ir nearly entirely sapped my desire to play this game. It's too long, the Naga quests are absolutely terrible, and there are too many extensively-bugged quests.

That's a good way to do it. I made bank selling trinkets after the fair. My guildie made over 100k doing the same thing but he had more time to farm herbs

I never really had any problems with bugged quests until Uldum.

Uldum seems to lack a certain amount of polish (cutscenes breaking all the time, no coherent decision whether THIS escort quest is shared, phased, semi-phased, or whatever, mobs getting phased out that you need for other quests, no voice acting for the cutscenes, etc)

I wasn't expecting to, but I actually love Uldum the most. Fantastic quests, great story, and great atmosphere. Twilight Highlands heats up near the end of the quest line. Deepholm was okay, Vashj'ir was awesome, and I found Hyjal to be a giant snore fest.

That said, my opinion of Hyjal could be poor because I'm only doing it for rep. I hit 85 in Twilight, and the thrill of leveling was part of all the other zones. Now I'm trying to get to high enough rep to buy Heroic gear, and Hyjal is kind of grating on me.

Also, it's a bit too traditional for my tastes.

With the way reputation works in Cataclysm you're kind of pushed towards rolling through all of the new zones regardless. Choosing Vash'jir or Hyjal first just delays going back for the other one some other time.

The most notably bugged quest for me was the one near the beginning where you're supposed to be kidnapped by a naga. This quest got in an infinite loop for me and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get kidnapped. This quest is just all-around poorly designed though, because if you're a lone clothie the only way you're ever going to complete this is by fluke. I've never died so many times in my life.

I stopped leveling in Vashj'ir when a phasing bug caused me to be unable to talk to an NPC that I needed to to complete the quest line. 137/150 quests in the region.

I finished that zone with a guildie the first day which made it less tedius, I remember getting the achievement but the details said I was missing 20 quests (we scoured the zone), next day I logged in and the achievement showed me diong all 160 or whatever it was)

Was looking at mmo-champion and noticed that the change to make the alchemist stone non-disenchantable has been on the live servers for the past 10 days. Is this true or did I read it wrong?

Wait, I just remembered the huge bugfest in Vashj'ir.. that f

ing submarine. Even when it 'worked' it was glitchy with the ability to swim in mid air and losing breath standing around and just teleporting into the cavern.

I guess I blocked it out of my memory.

I was expecting to get more Earthen Ring rep from Vashjir, considering there is many quests from npcs of that faction... Was disappointed to see only 25-30% of them actually gave rep.

Most of the Vash'jir NPCs were given the non-rep version of the Earthen Ring (from vanilla used in Felwood, etc) instead of the rep group.

They probably kept it like that since you get enough rep in Deepholm anyway.

See:

vs

http://www.wowhead.com/faction=1135

There a few similar wierd rep settings, like how all the Horde questgivers at Mor'shan Ramparts are part of the Warsong Outriders, the PVP Battleground group.

My wife's mage alt can't do that quest, all she needs for the achievement. We did it on our main toons a few days before no problem.

Shocked they haven't fixed it yet.

What worked for me was:

1. drop it
2. log out
3. log back in
4. pick up quest again
5. wait for boat
6. go immediately inside down next to the out water pool thing
7. just wait. keep waiting. wait some more. even if nothing is happening. eventually you'll just warp to the town and can continue the zone.

On single mobs I've been SS, SND, SS until dead, and then Recup on the dead target. Other wise, they get close to death near the 3 combo mark and hitting Evis seems like a waste since it's overkill and I lost health. Tho i guess I can 2-3CP Evis when I'm ok on health and the second carry over from another mob perhaps.

If you change your profession, you lose all the progress, right? I'm finding very hard to level enchanting at my level (21), so maybe I can change it to herbalism or something (at least till I get more money to go back)?

Also, any gaffer playing in Ysera server?

You lose all your progress, yes. Broadly speaking, if you're leveling a first character, it's probably going to be easier to double-gather as you level (and thereby make a shitload of money) and then go back and powerlevel whichever crafting profession you want when you level cap.

I should go Herbalism and Mining then. I leveled fishing and cooking the most, so swapping tailoring and enchanting doesn't look too bad. Thanks for the advice.

That's what I thought would be the case, but none of the codes it spit out were working, then I pressed resync and it said "sync successful" I tried a few more times and the codes were still not working.

I can't remove it from my account, because even thought I'm logged into the website, I need my authenticator to sign into account management.

When my authenticator broke a week or so ago I tried to call but the phone queue was full and it wouldn't add me to it. I had to fill out the web form and attach some ID (I took a picture of my driving licence). Normally you don't need ID but I couldn't remember my secret answer, and it wouldn't tell me what the secret question was, so I had to.

Took about 18 hours but eventually they removed my authenticator. I added my mobile one an hour later :)

Did you write down the serial number of your old authenticator somewhere? If so, you can just give Blizzard that over the phone and they can take off the old one and add the new right there.

If you didn't write it down, it's a bitch to get stuff straightened out. That's why I just made a Google Doc with my serial on it. Made the process take about 1 hour as opposed to about a day.

I went through the account recovery process, and even though it said it would remove any authenticators on the account it still is locking me out. It did change my password though.

I think I'm just being impatient and need to wait a few hours. :\
And yes, I will write it down! I'm thinking about just buying a real authenticator since they're like 6 bucks. That way I won't have to worry when my phone crashes.
