World of Warcraft |OT9| People still play this? Isn't it from 2004

Came back to WoW this weekend after not having played since Cata back in 2011 (got bored of Destiny!)

I had a full set of toons of my old realm but decided I wanted to start afresh on Silvermoon-EU for a new experience and so far I have been absolutely loving all the quality of life changes they've implemented.

Luckily I still had all my old Heirlooms so just had to relog into all my old toons to get them to activate (stupid design that but hey ho) and that's making leveling a breeze. Playing a MM hunter and dungeons are going so quickly that I've out-leveled the quests I was doing each time I spawn back out the dungeon so I'm basically leveling almost entirely by DF and spending time in between picking up flight paths and gathering.

Also got lucky and managed to slip into a 30+ only guild (I'd prefer to play with people closer to my own age of 29) who seem a really decent bunch and already helped me out with some early leveling and gold. That was after being a member for all of 5 mins and being unknown to every one of them. Made me realise how much I missed the social aspect of this game and all the memories of my old guild came flooding back and for a second I considered jumping back onto my old realm. I know most of them are gone now though and I really do want a fresh start experience so going to stick with Silvermoon and the new guild for now. Seems I do have a lot of reading up to do though but looking forward to getting to cap!

A question though for anyone as I struggled to get recent answers from Google. Apart from activating the Heirlooms, is there anything else I can make use of from my old toons or is most stuff still locked behind Realm only transfer?

Im on Silvermoon EU as well. Ive just come back and looking for an over 30 guild for my prot pally. Do you think i could join yours?

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
Also that Army macro should definitely be "fight for the Ebon Blade" not "the name of the Lich King"

Sub ran out finally. Probably on break until at least 7.1.5. The RNG to the ninth degree wore me down.

Same here. Really want to wait until 7.2, but no way in hell I'll wait that long. Burnt out trying to catch up with alts since I don't raid.

Ironically I got burnt out because I had *too much* shit to do on alts and it started to feel like work. That's when I know I need a break.

I'm only begrudgingly supporting the Ebon Blade until my boy Bolvar rises up for round 2.

Damn

You basically decided that the standard playable DK lore wasn't edgelord enough

That's impressive

Do any of you guys use emotes for your non-vital or long CD skills? I like it, it adds a little flair to the humdrum of the game.

/cast Raise Dead
/me bends low to the earth and places a hand on the ground, necrotic green energy pulsing through the soil until a decaying hand thrusts up to the surface. "Get up, maggot! There's work to be done."

/cast Army of the Dead
/me thrusts his hand into the sky with fingers curled, violent torrents of pallid purple light burning the area around him as the furious undead are called up to take arms, "Rise, minions! Fight in the name of the Lich King!"

/cast Sindragosa's Fury
/me lifts a gauntlet surrounded in blue flame and shouts with a frozen gust of breath, calling the attention of Sindragosa. The Death Knight commands the direction of the attack, and the monstrous dragon descends to bathe his foes in a freezing torrent.

Nothing that verbose. I do have my combat res on a macro so everyone knows who I'm getting up. And it's not that fantasy RPish. It's just "It's never nap time, baby! [Combat Res on playername]"

Watch out for World Quests where the faction name is greyed out. They don't seem to give credit for emissary completion. Currently Left for Dead is up in Suramar, listed as The Nightfallen but in grey rather than yellow and it does not give credit towards completion of your four Nightfallen quests.

I thought greyed out names only meant you were exalted with said faction, so no rep gain? I mean, that's how it is on my alt. Nightfallen faction is the only one exalted, and all Nightfallen quests are grey, and the rest is yellow.

Left for Dead is also greyed out for me but I'm only revered. Maybe what you describe is the intention but definitely seems like bugs at play here.

Arena skirmish is horrible as a healer. All you get is 3v3s and its 2v3 half the time. How am I supposed to win? Do I have to queue with other people to win something as simple as arena skirmishes?

So is this game terribly optimized? I'm on a 6600k i7, 16gb ram, and 1080 and my frames tank whenever there's mist/glow or I dunno what else. A lot of things make my frames go down to 30 or less when the game should be running well over 60. I'm running the suggested settings by GeForce experience.

So I'm making my way through Pandaria, just hit lvl 90! I'm really enjoying the quests and I'm happy to just do everything while being overlevelled (yeah I like playing for the story I'm a crazy person). One question I have though... is it worth me unlocking my garrison then coming back to finish off Pandaria? I have no idea what a garrison is really, but could I be unlocking/improving it while still questing in Pandaria or is it a Draenor only thing. And when do class halls become a thing?

Anyone feel like helping a noob out?

Garrison is a Dreanor only thing. I'd recommend going to Dreanor at level 90 (or even 89 if you can get the quest already) since it has better exp and thats the best place to level to 100 (98), I think. Technically you could upgrade it while you do other things, but i wouldn't recommend it. All you'd need is to complete the first chain and have some garrison resources available.

Class halls are similar to Garrison, but not unique to each player and they are for the Legion expansion. Since current content is tied to the class halls, you'll be spending quite some time there.

Thanks! Are there any quests/zones/storylines/dungeons in Pandaria that I should do so that later plotlines make sense?

Garrosh went insane, Voljin lead a rebellion we defeated garrosh, Garrosh went up for trial but then was released by a bronze dragon and sent back into time to a alternate draenor. Garrosh then prevents the orcs from drinking the blood...thats bout it.

Hey guys, any good World of Warcraft podcasts you can recommend?
FinalbossTV is good about bringing in high level players for deeper discussions about the game. The Instance can be alright sometimes but their perspective is usually not particularly informed, and they hardly play the game. Definitely listen to the interview they did with Chris Metzen though.

All my Nightfallen quests had greyed out faction but I got credit for each one of them. One WQ wasn't even on the map.

It's essentially a 15 year old game cobbled together with duck tape and enthusiasm. Yes, it's horribly optimized. That said, the GeForce optimization is worse, go in and check and see if it turned rendering up to 200% (it probably did) and put it back on 100%, that will make a huge difference. WoW is just one of those games you'll need to tweak settings to decide what you want performance wise and what you'll sacrifice, but you're always going to get game drops in some places regardless of your system or settings.

I have an older i5 3570, 16GB and a 6GB 1060. I'm also running on the geforce recommended settings. It is a pretty stable 60 except in Suaramar City where it gets down into 30/34 type FPS (twilight vineyards is a prime example). I've heard that the newest Nvidia driver had some sort of problems with performance (not WoW specific, just in general). I've not upgraded due to this, have you, that might be contributing? (Unless it is FUD). My Render Scale is 180% and I have GeForce 375.95, 1080p Ultra settings.

Do you have an example area?

This is an interesting situation, i dont think many general mythic guilds will kill this boss before they get NH tier gear, im quite sure at least. Like you wont see a top 50 or so until then.

Wonder if they are going to nerf her at some point maybe in 2 weeks or so im not sure of anything. (i dont think they should)

We should have her dead tonight.

For some reason, almost all my bad / funny M+ stories come from DHT. And usually on sub 5 difficulties, too. It doesn't make sense. The skips are pretty straightforward and hard to mess up. The bosses and trash don't have too much going on. Just seems like people randomly lose their minds in there when I group with them.

Today the tank (it was his keystone) ran OUT the instance after he activated. I couldn't help but laugh. Run had everything: hunters pulling extra packs, an overly long and avoidable bolstered water ele, people not understanding the final boss fight. I really don't get it lol.

Is that just an issue in regards of tuning and that most guilds don't have the roster and class flexibility? IIRC most kills are pretty class stacked correct?

for the most part its gear, artifacts and the classes pretty much all aspects

things that non bleeding edge guilds dont require or at least dont require to such an extent or just straight up dont have access to

no to mention actually executing the boss on top of the out of raid requirements, all of EN is a total and complete joke compared to her, take all the wipes a guild had in that instance and x2 and you have her -30-40 or so, at least thats what we are at as well as 2 other guilds who have killed her

I will have to go on the settings and tweak it myself. I can't bring up any in specific. I will start taking notes on where and what causes my frames do dip and report back.

WoD's plot is all kinds of messy, but here's the core of why the alternate dimension/time-travelling happened...

Kairoz revealed that he had brought Garrosh to a timeway similar to the past of their own, but "not a perfect mirror image." Believing that Azeroth isn't strong enough to take on the Burning Legion alone, he explained that his plan was for Garrosh to help him gather the orcs into a new Horde and bring it to Azeroth to fight against the Legion. However, Kairoz was not satisfied with just one Horde free of demonic taint: he wanted to cultivate an infinite number of Hordes drawn from all the timeways. His fatal error came when he turned his back on Garrosh, who immediately stabbed Kairoz to death with the shard of the Vision of Time

Wrathion and Kairozdormu wanted to create an infinite number of un-corrupted Hordes to fight the Burning Legion.

Helya is interesting because there isn't a lot of room for gear growth for guilds. If it's that hard for top guilds, it's going to be even harder for later guilds, who usually have a good 20 ilevel gain over the top guilds before they kill content, which naturally nerfs it. Now? Top guilds have high ilevels by virtue of spamming M+s and more mythic raid splits, have better artifacts (not worse) due to the same, have better legendaries on average (for the same reason). etc.

It's kind of unprecedented that unless they directly nerf the fight it will be HARDER for less hardcore guilds, in a strictly numerical sense, not even just the fact that theytend to be less skilled on average.

Speaking of, got my third Zero-dps legendary today. Feels great. I love this game.

Is it a good idea to delay doing Suramar in a newly level 110 alt, to wait for the artifact research to catch up a bit since you get the loads of artifact power from suramar or should I just do it anyway right after hitting 110 and it doesn't matter much?

Nah, it's not really worth waiting.

I might actually unsubscribe if they go ahead with this True Bearing nerf to Outlaw. Fucking Blizzard is the worst.

Don't even talk to me about the fucking laughable bullshit that was datamined re Warlocks.

"But we're still making changes"

Blizzard, you've been making changes since beta.Got an ETA on when your balance team will stop embarrassing you?

I'm not sure if I'm glad or sad that Fury hasn't been touched so far. They need to fix a shit ton of issues the spec has but something tells me they will ignore all of them and just nerf the spec even though it's still pretty bad in a lot of fights and only middle of the pack in some.

You really can't tell with Blizzard.

Not sure what happened but I completed the Wardens daily emissary with my alt then logged on my druid to do it there but there doesn't seem to be any emissary quests available? Is it WAD? Are some of these emissary cache dailies account wide or something?

Edit: Ok, had to relog twice to get them to show up.

Which link? XD

"The guild is called Middle Aged Mayhem (the name is kind of a giveaway lol)

http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/guild/si...e_Aged_Mayhem/

Any of the players in the recent activity list should be able to put you in touch with someone to let join or invite you themselves as other than the age restriction they are fairly open.

They are quite keen on TS as well and a lot of the chat goes on in there if that's your thing too."

Ok when I wake up tomorrow I will find an 895 socketed ring with haste/crit in my weekly cache :)))))))

when I get home I will probably have my 6th set of 880 bracers. I think my mythic cache is broken.

we will definitely get a +12 this week and make a serious effort for a +15. There's no affix combination that will be easier for us.

I could never in good conscience tell anyone that doing Suramar is a good idea

It will be interesting to see if they will allow flying in Suramar in 7.2 since it trivializes the content. My guess is you will be able to fly in Suramar, but not in the new content area that has to be built up.
