World of Warcraft |OT9| People still play this? Isn't it from 2004

man, compared to monk, Druid seems to have clear differences in raid vs 5 man talents. Going to do some mythics tonight for the first time and im thinking of running a rejuv build, especially with cultivation being buffed and mana issues of germination not being that severe in a 5 man environment,

Cenarion Ward for 5man for the extra strong tank hot instead of the usual Prosperity (I can even see a case for abundance if you are chucking out 2 rejuvs per player tbh, wasnt someone running abundance in high mythics here?).

If I drop (the now nerfed) Prosperity, I drop SotF for the (now buffed Cultivation) since its only natural.Germination instead of Spring Blossoms since you should be able to maintain 2 rejuvs on less people compared to a raid, both mana wise and GCD wise.

And even on the last tier im looking at Stonebark vs Flourish, Stonebark seems really good? Knocks the cooldown down to 1min on a already very strong dmg reduction and buffs HOTs for the duration? Seems like a very strong talent for a 5man where you know you will be healing a tank.
I used Cenarion Ward for the first time last night due to the Prosperity nerfs, holy shit CW is strong. I liked to use it on melee dps that pull threat or get hit hard with something, and it just tops them off. I will still prob use Prosperity in raid to synergize with sotf though.
And yea Stonebark is very good in 5 mans. Especially with DH tanks.

It's not supposed to be a source of upgrades for people doing heroic raids.

I'm 875-877 and there's still some stuff in Kara I can use. Raid trinkets are ass and it's impossible to get relics for offspecs when you're using ML with 30 people.

just played Blood.

They streamlined the hell out of that thing, huh?

My previous experience playing a DK was as a 2H Frost tank in early Wrath. Which was kind of like tanking by playing Guitar Hero, or playing 3 dimensional chess with runes while your mage runs around unexpectedly fireball pulling.

Thing is, braindead tanking is something I always advocated as a bear druid because it lets you focus on situational awareness. I thought Legion honestly took it too far at first - you'd have to be AFK to lose aggro and all your buttons are AOE. But mythic+ affixes are mostly all shit for the tank to deal with, which would be quite impossible if it was still the days of stacking sunder armor. Necrotic, Bolstering, Raging, Sanguine and Teeming have all brought their own challenges. And then you throw Skittish into the equation when you're already concerned about kiting mobs to stay alive...

I managed to just sell 400 Felslate in 5 stacks and didn't realize the price I put in was per stack instead of per unit.

Whelp, someone was happy about those ~7G/Felslate he got. >_>

Got my third legendary today, Acherus Drape. Better than the two I got, but I can't even use this because I already have a 875 cloak and could only replace my ring or neck with an 845 item (and those also have a socket in them). D:

You monster. There are starving children in Suramar and here you are hoarding legendaries. Think of someone else for once.

Grats!

My bodyguard, Boros, used to mount up all the time but I could fix that by casting Divine Steed. Now in 7.1, that doesn't even work. So I have this big fucking Elekk riding son-of-a-bitch getting in the way all the time now.

I was dead-set on playing Blood this expansion until the pre-patch hit.

That's one way to describe it.

butchered* more like it

What incarnations of blood did you guys find enjoyable?

I only had exposure to playing it in WoD, but I found the Spend Runes to generate RP -> Spend RP to generate Blood Tap stacks -> Spend BT stacks to generate runes style of play so much fun, and then they completely gutted it.

I've played it on and off every expansion, but WOD with Breath was my favorite incarnation.

I think the Hunter faction should've been based on the High Elven ranger generals. Or, if they wanted to go full comedy, Nesingwary's Secret Gentleman's Club for Distinguished Trackers. I like the NPCs around Trueshot though. They're amusing rather than grating like Lorepedis' constant angst over being in a demon.

Yeah I was kinda surprised at how meh the mage one was, though I have hopes that a continuation (assuming there is one, and I have to imagine there will be) will be better.

The ending especially was meh.

Honestly one of the few things I did like was that it actually has a connection to the Violet Hold. It took me several weeks to even realize it, but you know how when you fight Millhouse's wife (I guess its his wife, right?) and she runs off, he then says he has to go do something?

The mage campaign has you running into him as he is trying to obtain a Nightborne soul stone. At the time it feels like Millhouse is just going about his usual DOOOOOOOOOOOOOM stuff, but then I realized, its for his wife.

The priest is easily the worst written of the campaigns. They introduce so many elements and turns that they never follow up on. 'Here's this crazy shadow guy!... Ok we're done with him. Here's Arthas's sister!... Ok we're done with her. Here's the Naaru. Ok we're done with it!' followed up by the dumbest deus ex machina in WoW history. A cutscene so ridiculous that I actually started laughing when I saw it.

The warrior class hall just suffers from the fact that you're involved with a bunch of characters you don't care about from a race you don't care about with two names shoehorned in that feel like pandering. The cuts in the Shaman campaign are so much deeper that it doesn't feel like pandering. Like you might not recognize one of the elementals but he looks cool and seems cool but for an old school player, you're like 'fuck man!'

Remember to set your loot spec to your main spec and don't let it budge.

Have seen a caster get a healer legendary and a healer get a caster legendary because of this.

This new Arcwine distribution WQ in Suramar is terrible... either you waste too much time waiting on guards to spawn, or you waste too much time because half of them are tagged by the opposite faction.

So there's a world quest off the northern coast of Val'sharah. How exactly are you supposed to get there? Waterwalk around the coast? That's a real long schlep.

edit: Guess you can come in from Highmountain though.

I feel you. Tried to do the attunement quests outside Kara yesterday and we apparently are on a battlegroup with a huge Alliance server since there were 30 Alliance for every Horde player there. And my server is entirely Horde.

Blizz needs to let "world PVP" die already.

I mean, I know that most of the time server choices are dictated by the guild you are in, but there is a reason PvE servers exist, for people who don't want to PvP. I'm on a PvP server, I have no interest in world PvP and I get ganked all the time but never gank myself, but I would never complain about world PvP. I CHOSE the server where that was a possibility, knowingly, when there was an option to fully avoid world PvP, so I can't rightly complain about wPvP existing. Is kind of sad though how still to this day people get enjoyment from sitting their 110 in Honor Hold in Thrallmar one shotting the lv 60s just starting Outland...

That is one thing I love about resto Druid, you almost have a fully different playstyle whether you're running 5 mans, raids, or PvPing. I actually kind of hate the "raid style" WG -> Flourish with Rejuv raid style, but I really have a ton of fun doing 5mans as resto. As you mentioned, stonebark is amazing, especially for Mythic+ as it is up basically every pull, you are less reliant on WG and you have some talent options to play with. Really enjoyable healer. Also love the fact that you can drop a Sunfire on one mob that AoE spreads to all of them as a very simple way to add some AoE damage as a healer.

Druid one is pretty awesome, I think the DK class hall quests are the king though

I was kind of disappointed by the druid one, especially the end. Apparently
all it took to win the war of the ancients was killing ~6 infernals
. And it felt like Druid campaign didn't do anything that had any permanence for legion aside from killing Xavius like everyone else had to for the raid.

You would have a point if World PVP was not actually PVP at one time in the game's history.

Huh? I'm not really sure what you mean by that sentence, having a hard time parsing it. Are you referring to the fact that BGs didn't exist at one time? Because that doesn't really change my point. Anyway, my only point is that there are two types of servers, one where you can get killed by people and one where you can't. So choosing to be on a server specifically where you can kill/be killed and many people knowingly chose it for that fact makes it harder to complain about getting killed.

Wow, there needs to be a better graveyard for if you die to the Falcosaurs in northern Val'sharah. You find yourself at the graveyard way east in Highmountain.

Two of the greatest failings of legion are the absolute lack of mailboxes and the awful positioning of graveyards. Pray to god you don't die waiting at the HoV summon stone, because that is like a full 5 minute trek back.

It's the walk of shame for dying to Falcosaurs.

Give you time to think about where you went wrong.

And how you've let your ancestors down.

I'm saying that the Venn diagram of World PVP and "real" PVP (read: non-ganking/griefing) was 100% overlap when the game started and people picked servers. People picked PVP servers because World PVP was the ONLY PVP. Those areas no longer overlap.

Real PVP takes place in arenas, BGs, and specific World Quest areas now. That's it. Everything else is ganking and griefing. And you can get that on any server.

As an aside, I assume (based on the end of your post) you'd be cool with removing safe zones in cities, lowbie zones, etc. Is that accurate?

Yeah its a bit annoying. I don't mind the mailboxes much though.

To be fair, their talon rend thing stacks, and I died ot the matriarch who hits really damn hard.

I was, however, really dumb for not waiting for all my cooldowns to be ready.

People are going to play with their friends or where strong guilds are regardless of the server type. This point also flies out the window when cross realms and shards enter the picture and "your server" starts being "this group of servers". Blizzard still has a responsibility to create safe zones and they have just given up completely on that. Does the game experience benefit from Karazahn being a weird PvP hot spot? Blizzard can't even do basic game balance or bug fixing though so maybe asking them to think hard about why world PvP is even in the game in most zones is asking too much.

Speaking of which, I killed the Matriarch for the purple/green Falcosaur once and instantly had the orphan spawn. The frost Falcosaur? fuck that shit. 3 kills on my Warlock, 2 on my Druid. No orphan.

Not to mention Blizzard letting server populations get so one-sided. They cannot provide an environment where world PVP is at least somewhat balanced based on what we've seen so far. If you can't do it right, don't do it.

It is a bit better now that they added back in Icebound Fortitude, but going from DK tanking in WOTLK and Cata then taking 2 expansions off and coming back for this, my DK feels seriously gimped on self mitigation. I used to have custom macros for every boss to use my CDs in a way that made sense and it was a bit overwhelming, but I found it fun. Before they added IBF back, having so few tanking CDs felt seriously underwhelming.

4 mythics done with the druid for the kara attunement, my first mythics on her too. Was smoth as shit, quite happy. Tank was a friend on a DH alt aswell, the other 3 were on their regular mains.

went with a rejuv build like I said earlier, with ward, cultivation/germination and stonebark. Super fun, and I got some upgrades, most noticibly 855 titanforged legs, and then 865 cloak from the quest cache, so im 850 now, rising fast :)

second time thrugh kara today for 3 of us, only took 1 and a half hours this time. With a tank that knows the pulls we could push it down to 1 hours for sure

E: and the second socket disappeared after the loot got assigned, lol

We had exactly the same thing happen but with a ring! Really weird.

Like others, I was expecting to see a number of legendary drops tonight for our fresh EN HC clear, but we didn't see a single one. Lol.

Got about 40 minutes of Nyth Mythic, looking forward to tackling Mythic EN on Sunday & Tuesday this week. We've almost got a full, consistent raid team. Still some work to go though. Also been working on my prot rotation and I'm parsing about 40% higher than I was last week, so there's that :)

The falcosaur mount-pet questline requires you to level each to 25.

Thank god for the garrison and Blizzard giving you an easy instalevel 25 stone from it.

I still haven't leveled a pet past level 7, it seems like such a grind.

It used to be really bad. Isn't as bad now but the various stones you can buy for 1 level for 3 charms is ok, and like I said there's the insta-25 stones that are very useful. I have a few pets for battling when I want to capture a specific pet (i.e. the val'kyr) and that's about it.

Yeah, I want to level some because there's some pet's I wouldn't mind getting that would require having level 25s but yeah, I guess I should just do it at some point.

If you have a garrison, just go to the pet trainer there (even if your menagerie isn't actually up, garrison just has to be a level 3). You get the quest Unearthed Magic and a simple turnin gives you a stone that instantly levels a pet to 25. Depending on how many alts you have, you could get a good setup real quick.

Oh nice, I have a couple characters that have level 3 garrisons, I'll check that out. Thanks!
