Would you ever consider abandoning consoles entirely for PC in the future?

Almost already have.

Have a PS3 and PS2 hooked up but no new gen systems.

Might get a PS4 for Ratchet, Uncharted 4, The Order, Tomb Raider etc

Yeah i just did it, i passed from handheld console(Vita) to handheld pc(GPD Win) and i don't think i'll ever go back.

Maybe not entirely but if the japanese games that are still Playstation exclusive will come to the PC, I might not buy another one. Already don't see a point to buy a Xbox One because there are currently only two games that interest me and aren't on PC. Probably won't abandon Nintendo hardware if they keep portability. Nintendo has the only first-party games I really want to play.

Nah, I can't use kbm. Plus the fiddling around with settings and hardware doesn't appeal to me.

Besides performance isn't really an issue to me. Obviously since I only have an Xbox One haha.

Having just built a very powerful PC, I can see myself still using my consoles. There's something beautiful about relaxing on a couch and putting a game in and playing. PC gaming is expensive and a hassle at times, I really should give steam link a go

The complete opposite is the case for me right now: i used to play on PC for ~20 years now. My interest is on (action)RPGs, platformers, maybe a driving sim... games that are available on console aswell that don't require mouse+keyboard.
Since i bought my PS4 Pro last year i barely used my PC anymore. The PS4 exclusives are so good that i couldn't ignore them any longer.

My PC became a Civ6-station.

I really enjoy gaming on my comfy couch, something i never did before.

I've already done it. The last console I bought was a Wii U which I was VERY happy with. I didn't buy a PS4 or One because I'm refusing to pay a tax to play online. I got myself a Rift in October last year and Touch controllers on launch day and since getting those and experienced the wonders of VR I'm not going anywhere near 'flat' games again, not even for the new Zelda which is REALLY saying something.

Once you go VR you never go flat lol

No. Never. I cannot give up the comfort of the couch and large screen tv. Yes, I know I can do the same for steam/pc, but there's no TV with true 120 refresh rate and it's not comfortable playing with a m/kb on the couch.

Oh and the exclusives.

I did PC only for years (minus handhelds). I wound up getting a WiiU and now a Switch. I will likely continue my Nintendo + PC option for the foreseeable future.

?

Basically 99.9% of PC games (that are also on consoles) can be played with a gamepad nowadays. In fact most of them even have button prompts matching your controller.

I did for a time when I was a broke college student. The value I got from PC games, steam and wow were more than enough for my very limited time. When I had more free time and money I came back to consoles

I could easily live without Sony and Microsoft exclusives, but not Nintendo ones or even Nintendo consoles that bring fresh innovation with each generation.

My PS4 is currently the most boring Sony machine I've owned, can't see me getting a PS5, so in the future, I will probably be gaming purely on my PC and Nintendo hardware.

Depends. I have a PC that can play games, but I still prefer the console 'experience'. As much as PC's have improved, simplified and sped up the process of playing a game, it's still a step behind the ease of use and convenience of a consoles and likely always will be. Hopefully I'm wrong but we'll see.

Then there's the games and exclusives. Yes PC has it's own highly rated exclusives. But they are typically in the genre's I don't like as much. For example this year so far the games that have released that interest me are;

Zelda Breath of the Wild
Horizon
Nioh
Nier
Gravity Rush 2
Yakuza 0
Tales of Berseria.

Only 2 of those are on PC. And there's also future things like Persona 5 and FFXII HD. Yes some like Nioh and FFXII might come later, and I can see more and more of those types of games on PC to come in future as they should, but I'd rather not have to deal with the uncertainty of 'will they won't they' and just play them. If I was PC only the recent nonsense with Nier would have drove me insane. As it is I'll use my PC for so called PC style games that predominantly use Mouse and Keyboard like Age ot Empires and the like

Nintendo and Sony would both have to start releasing all their 1st party games on PC for me to move to it exclusively.

As long as Nintendo and Sony keep on making exclusives that don't release on PC, and certain games continue to omit local multiplayer options on PC (like cod for instance), I don't see myself abandoning console gaming.

Not really, no. I'm 75% PC, 24% Nintendo and 1% Sony.

I could lose Sony and not care about it one bit, but don't take me away from Nintendo.

Lol.
all i care are single-player-experiences.
nintendo, sony and xbox.

i dont care a bit about pc, since most games are only about mp... mostly.

consoles become online-games-service-platforms too but i hope this will only stay an exception.

Nope.

1) I like Macs, if I bought a PC it'd be for games only.

2) Most of my favourite genres are usually at home on consoles, and I suppose I'm a nintendo fanboy at heart.

VR is my major interest in building a gaming PC.

Possibly, only console i'm interested in is the switch and i'm not even sure i'll get one. Also i have to much shit to play and not enough time, i'm having trouble already with my vita/3ds/pc.

I've actually done the opposite recently. I used to play on my PC more, but as I get older (I'm not that old though lol) I barely turn it on anymore.

Might just be a personal thing for me.

I'm in the same boat. I bought a Geforce 1070 PC but I barely use it now and it's collecting dust.

I keep coming back to my PS4 Pro. It's so much easier to use : one button press and I'm playing with my friends.

Graphically there's less and less difference anyway, games like Horizon actually look better than anything on my PC when I think about it.

PC has a last big advantage though, it's the possibility to get 60 fps (but with diminishing returns, I suspect even that advantage will disappear too and consoles will finally be 60 fps again in a few years). That, and different exclusives like Civilization, which I like a lot. It will make me keep a PC for those few games.

I moved over to the PC this gen, I've not regretted it. I've played the PS4/Xbox One and I just don't enjoy them at all. As soon as I could afford to ditch my consoles and build a PC, I did.

I've got a nice gaming PC and a PS4 Pro so it's the best of both worlds for me. Unless they somehow merge in the future, I see no reason for me to abandon one for the other.

I'm there already. I have a ps4 but I don't even use it all anymore. There is no need for a console really if you can get a decent gaming PC.

Maybe. Probably not, but it's not impossible. I love laptops and really can't see myself spending $500 on something and it not being a laptop. I'd never spend $500 on a console no matter what the bells and whistles were. $250 is my sweet spot or $299 with a game I'm dying to play. On top of that, I'd never spend $800 on a laptop so I'll never own one that'd great for graphically intense games.

If I could get a nice console graphics quality gaming PC for like $350, I'd probably go that route in a few years when it becomes clear that being on PC too is what "multiplatform" means like 90% of the time it's used.

Only if every exclusive sucked, or they all came to PC.

My current PC is more than 3 times as powerful as my PS4 Slim and even more powerful than the Scorpio is rumored to be. I'd be happy to play everything on it, but I still buy hardware/games from all of the big 3 for exclusives.
