Anyone else getting a bad feed? The sound seems to drop at various points...

BTW what is up with TNA's finishes? Gotdamn, that was the worst ref interference spot ever...

Damn the feed dropped the whole Shane Douglas promo... :(

Yes! We're back in time for Mike Tenay's worthless opinion on anything!

edit: wooo Nash. Lemme see a moonsault.

That splash and big boot were incredible.

And Tenay shouldn't be joking, I'm sure Nash pulled something during that match.

Most Extreme Player for 6/15
By Joey Styles
June 15, 2006

Effective with the world premiere of ECW on Sci Fi, ECW.com has asked me to choose a weekly ECW MVP (Most Valuable Player) or, in my words, an ECW MEP (Most Extreme Player).

This week’s ECW M.E.P. is without question The Zombie. The Zombie’s riveting entrance, intensity and pre-match interview embodied everything I have come to expect from sports-entertainment.

The Zombie immediately made this lifelong wrestling fan conjure up images of such other sports-entertainment greats as Max Moon, The Goon and The Gobbledygooker.

Unfortunately, former 5-time ECW World Heavyweight Champion, The Sandman, did not find The Zombie nearly as entertaining as did I and summarily caned the undead sports-entertainer repeatedly before quickly pinning The Zombie after his signature White Russian Leg Sweep.

Runner-up honors go to new ECW “exhibitionist”, Kelly, who I deemed ineligible when she failed to unhook her bra.

See my avatar please. This is obviously a mock of JR's RAW superstar of the week. You can feel the sarcasm off of this one.

OH yeah, another big **** you to the WWE. This is on their front page.

CM Punk is teaming with Kane the next OVW show. So hes faught Ken Kennedy....Kennedy, teamed up with Dreamer, now teaming up with Kane--for goodness sakes just call this guy up already, I don't even care if its smackdown.

I'd love it if CM Punk gets called up and no one cares who he is, he never develops a good gimmick or angle, and no one notices his talent.

Just seeing you and ROH boards light up over it would be better than anything Punk would bring to a WWE ring.

Punk is only in WWE because Vince doesn't want him to go to TNA. Don't even think twice about that. Jamie Noble basically became an indie wrestling god during his ROH tenure, and Vince doesn't give a shit to put the guy on anything more than Velocity.

and in a shitty dog gimmick...come on now that is embrassing as hell why not have Crusierweight matches with them? Ugh I hate that there are no Tag Teams or a stable Cruisweight Division or a Division of Women who can wrestle good...2003 come back :(

It doesnt matter if wwe had a stable cruiser devision because they are stripped of everything that makes them cruiserweights. They are just small guys who are forced to mat wrestle.

What's a cruiserweight?

I remember them from WCW and putting on fantastic, show stealing matches for the first hour and half of Nitro.

WWE took 2 of their best and put collars on them to make the the Pitbulls 2.0. ARGH. Now bear in mind the pittbulls were both LARGE guys... not 2 under-6-footers. Not exactly intimidating.

Great back-and forth on Wiki for Cena's moveset:

I think Cena's Six Moves of Doom should be like this:

1. Multiple clotheslines or Diving shoulder block
2. Sit-Out hip toss
3. Spin-out powerbomb (The Protoplex)
4 Five Knuckle Shuffle
5. FU
6. STFU

i want to be diva how do u do it i am 16 and moving to amrica when i am 18 and be a oneof the sexy diva and marrie john cena

Why does Cena alone amongst wrestlers, get his moveset named? The vast majority of Pro Wrestlers have a list moves they do like that. Does anyone think this is really necessary, and if so, why?

Angsty female teen post aside, why does Cena get flak for his moveset? Triple H has a predictable set. Bret Hart. The Rock. Booker T even. What is the deal?

BEsides the fact that Cena looks like an idiot when he does the moves? No logic, no impact and he throws some of the WORST puinches I have ever seen.

He's worse than The Rock ever was when it comes to over selling and appearing overly animated.

Every wrestler has his signature moves, that is a large part of what makes them unique. But its like Cena could be getting beat with a led pipe for 30minutes and then all of a sudden he goes insane and hits his 5 moves of doom in rapid succession. Its like Hulking Up X100 as he completely no sells any damage that he has sustained over the course of the match.

His lack of in ring psychology and the fact that he doesn't spread his signature moves out over the course of the match(like HBK, Angle,Bret, HHH, Austin etc..) makes his matches boring, repetitive, and very predictable. You can always tell when a Cena match is about to end--always. Also the way they are delivered(especially his finishers) make his matches seem like squashes. There are no big reversals or sequences that lead to his big moves, he just destroys his opponent. Seriously, how many times has HBK actually loaded up for SCM, hit it, and won the match that way? The Big Show finish was the best Finish to a cena match EVER, and one of the very few exceptions to his general in ring performances.

You're trying to say the rock sold bad.

**** no, it was brilliant. Loved how he sold the stunner :D

He's hulking up? He hears the Cenamaniacs? :D

Most brawlers don't have in-ring psychology. But you are right in a lot of aspects. I wish there were more FU reversals and STFU "he got to rope" situations.

All of those people have been called out everywhere for utilizing their own Five Moves of Doom. The Rock especially.

When it comes down to it, people just don't respect Cena. Unlike the other guys you named, Cena literally does not have a moveset outside of his Five Moves, whereas people know Triple H and Bret Hart know their shit when they were taken outside of the WWE formula. People chanted "You can't wrestle" and "Same old shit" to Cena at the ECW PPV because it's the truth, whereas Kurt Angle came in and for the most part did the same old suplexes and moveset, but people loved it because they KNOW the guy can wrestle. Rey Mysterio last year was shit on at the ECW PPV and booed out the building for using his Five Moves. No one likes that shit.

take a long, hard look at Cena's STS (and yes, it's an STS, not an STF, which makes the STFU name that much more ridiculous).

The form and technique he uses is absolutely horrible and a joke. Even if you're a casual watcher who doesn't know his technical stuff, you can still see how BAD Cena is in the ring.

Unlike other wrestlers with their 5 moves, he just doesn't have any PSYCHOLOGY to them, and the moves ALL look like shit. Sure, rock had his elbow, but he also used stuff like a spinebuster and the rock bottom, and he didn't make them look like complete jokes.

ALL of cena's moves look like shit.

Cena just doesn't know a lick of ANYTHING when it comes to actual wrestling, from a variety of moves to techniquie to psychology. The guy absolutely sucks.

obviously you never saw him in OVW.......

Well he sure doesn't know how to make his CURRENT gimmick work.

I remember when he debuted against Kurt Angle; he was GOOD in that match.

But he just doesn't KNOW how to incorporate a trademark moveset into a match.

Don't put the Rock up on a pedestal, the dude kinda sucked. His sloppy Sharpshooter is no better than Cena's STFU.

He did know his shit though, and the way he reacted to being turned heel by the fans at Wrestlemania was far better handled than Cena's Wrestlemania heel reaction. The Rock may have done the same shit every time, but he didn't get his nickname as being the Most Electrifying Man in (Sports) Entertainment by not knowing psychology and how to work a crowd like magic. (I ****ing loved when he dropped "sports" out of his nickname once he started making movies and turned heel. I don't think Cena would never be smart enough to do that with his character.)

Shit, remember when he used to commentated during his own match, then take the announcers water and spit it in the face of his opponent.

You were entertained. And you loved it.

My good friend STILL cringes anytime he sees Rock put someone in a "Sharpshooter". He's a hardcore Bret Hart fan and it drives him BONKERS to see Rocky totally **** it up on the wrong side and applied wrong.

Perhaps Cena should acquire some Rock tapes and learn how to manipulate a crowd. The best part of The Rock WASN'T the matches, it was the lead up to it.

The ****ing Rock was awesome on the mic. Cena doesn't even have that anymore.

The Rock was no Hart,Angle, or Michaels in the ring, but he was a damn good worker. What he lacked in technical ability he more than made up for in other areas. He wasn't stiff looking in the ring like Cena, he sold ALOT better, he could actually carry a match(something I've yet to see Cena do), and his matches didn't go through the exact same motions, as Cena's do.

NOOOOO.... Cena needs to be his old self. I don't think people would have as much as a problem with him if he still entertained outside of the ring, instead of becoming this annoying prick. His problem has been that he has tried to mimic The Rock's mic work in several ways. John Cena on the mic now adays is like The Rock spliced with the Ultimate Warrior--it just comes off as annoying and awkward.
