"They'll all be fired in a couple of weeks anyway."

CM Punk vs. Stevie Richards - Punk got a huge reaction and came out to his ROH music by AFI. Punk forced Richards to tap out in a really good competitive match. They shook hands after. Punk appeared to be bleeding from the ear.

WOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

****ING AWESOME. Think he'll show up Tuesday?

Damn sure hope so...The fact that they didn't make him job to Stevie has me thinking he should be getting a decent push.

And he BETTER keep using Miseria Cantare when he shows up on TV!

Stupid Diva Search... There only 8 this time though which is less than last year (i think).

They are supposed to be keeping the "challanges" on SD this year and only show them getting elimnated on RAW this year so that a plus..

Rebecca DiPietro should win it (i don't really care though)

Oh! and PUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNK!!!! :D :D :D

Bi according to his Myspace.

There's no such thing as "bi". Either you're gay or your not.

If he sleeps with guys (which is how things look in the pics), he's still gay.... justr in a bit of denial about it. (not that there's anything wrong with being gay. Just pick a side.)

What about an "Outcast you know you love it!" sign for the Umaga/Eugene match?

You'd be my hero.

Why is it I'm still getting beat up? I actually liked most of the product they put out this week. (Didn't watch Smackdown yet, still on DVR). Last week was a real shitty week to be a wrasslin fan.

In other wrasslin news. I'm gonna be getting tickets for the next ROH show. Double main event that looks fantastic on paper.

Title vs Title:
Bryan Danielson vs Nigel McGuiness (hour long technical masterpiece. YIPPIE!)

Special exhibition match:
Christian Cage vs The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels

In addition already signed: ROH Tag Team Champions Austin Aries & Roderick Strong; Jimmy Rave; Homicide; Jay & Mark Briscoe; Delirious; BJ Whitmer plus many, many more to be added!!! Matt Sydal & Jack Evans will make their return from Dragon Gate on these events.

(No Joe anywhere to be seen though...Sad panda. :( )

I'm not trying to be mean, just some good natured ribbing ;)

I didn't see anyone else mention ECW's TV rating.

ECW did a 2.3 this week (according to The Wrestling Information Archive) compared to last week's 2.8. That's a lot better than what I thought it could have been after the first week being a mess.

So he's a ****ing idiot for being gay? I don't get what you're getting at.

Being gay isn't the issue. Apparently the guy in the photo is 16 and there's younger people than that on his myspace account, including a photo with a 14 year old girl. Remember the story about him being fired for who he was bringing on the road?

I just bought my tickets for Vengeance.

It's $20, so even if it sucks it doesn't matter. I'm so high up I won't see shit, but it'll be like watching it on PPV on the Titantron. :(

so...the show DIDN'T sell out?

Their PPV record hasn't been to great lately as far as filling an arena goes. With any luck you'll be on the non-camera side and get bumped up to fill a camera side seat.

The Bobcats Arena has nice, padded seats too (actually I don't know about the upper/nosebleed levels, but everywhere else it's plush seats).

Liu Kang Baking A Pie said:
Well all that was available were "limited view" $35 seats and super shitty $20 seats, so at least the whole bottom of the arena is full.

35 bucks for obstructed view? Damn, it is good to be Vince McMahon.

Probably just released those tickets in the past few days and the rest of the arena is sold out. Well, that is how it worked when I worked at Ticketmaster. The obstructed view didn't get released until the rest of the arena was sold out.

I don't usually watch wrestling anymore but I love the personality of lucha libre...happened to be watching this show Otro Rollo with my parents on Univision....apparently they said some of these guys are showing up on the WWE this week or something? some of the WWE wrestlers are supposedly coming on in a few minutes. check it out

god bless your soul dskillzhtown for having this thread at the top and not making me search.

Johnny Nitro, Rey Misterio, Joey Mercury(?), Melina(?), I think someone else that hasn't been shown...are those fur coats with those scrolling LED belt buckles built in?

Haha, tag team vs misterio and the show's host

Ok, I guess no one else who's into wrestling is awake right now...Rey Misterio and this mexican show host "beat" Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury who I'm guessing are tag team champions...

And it seems this was a promotion event for the WWE going to Mexico this/next week?

I hope this wasn't a rerun, I'm pretty sure I saw "vivo" or "live" at the bottom.

Crab Shaker did you just IM me because I had like 20 IMs going on and read that and closed out my IM box and didn't get it.

:lol I don't have the Spanish Channel dude :p

Haha yea I did, I'm pretty sure it's a nationally broadcast one, Univision?

Question: My friend said Chyna is now on the new DX shirts being sold, does that mean she is potentially coming back? Can the Snow Globe contingent confirm/deny this?

Eugene vs. Umaga
20060619_Veng_Umaga_vs_Euge1.jpg

Dot Com Rundown: At Vengeance, Eugene will try to be the one that ends Umaga’s impressive undefeated streak.

Since coming to RAW in April, no one has been able to stop the Samoan Bulldozer. “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, Eugene’s new friend and tutor, was just the latest opponent to feel Umaga’s wrath. On June 5, Umaga attacked Duggan as he tried to help Eugene after a match and laid out the WWE legend with his signature Samoan Spike.

From Duggan to Viscera to Ric Flair, everyone that has stepped in front of Umaga has been dispatched with ease. Will Eugene suffer a similar fate this Sunday night, or will the Samoan Bulldozer finally run out of gas against the special Superstar?

Kane vs. "Impostor Kane"
20060619_Veng_Kane_vs_Class1.jpg

Dot Com Rundown: For weeks, Kane has been haunted by a man impersonating him. The unknown man, who dresses like Kane used to early in his WWE career, has attacked the Big Red Machine several times. At Vengeance, however, Kane will try to end the torment when he steps into the ring to face off against his doppelganger.

So at Vengeance, will the Big Red Monster finally be able to put his past behind him?

Mick Foley vs. Ric Flair
20060612_Veng_Flair_vs_Foley.jpg

Dot Com Rundown: There will be a battle of legends that has been brewing for three years at Vengeance when Mick Foley faces Ric Flair in his hometown of Charlotte, N.C. in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match.

Mick Foley came to the ring on the June 12 edition of RAW to address his WWE fans to let them know that the old Mick Foley was back – the lovable, human muppet was back. But before Foley could get much further, he was interrupted by none other than the Nature Boy Ric Flair. And then, three years of pent up frustration completely boiled over.

Will Foley be able to beat Flair at his own game, or will the Nature Boy back up his claim that the Hardcore Legend is nothing but a glorified stuntman? Don’t miss Vengeance on June 25 at 8/7 CT to find out.

Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton
20060613_Veng_Orton_vs_Angle.jpg

Dot Com Rundown: The history between Randy Orton and Kurt Angle dates back to this past April when both were on SmackDown. However, on June 25 at Vengeance, RAW’s Orton will face ECW’s Angle at Vengeance.

After Angle made Orton tap out to the Ankle Lock at ECW One Night Stand, the Legend Killer issued the challenge for Vengeance the next night on RAW. Saying that he had fought Angle on ECW turf, he demanded that the Wrestling Machine agree to a match in a WWE ring with WWE rules. Orton then asked Todd Grisham to spread the word.

Back on April 14, it was Angle who broke Orton’s ankle with the Ankle Lock after their first-round King of the Ring tournament match; again at One Night Stand, Angle was victorious by submission. Can Angle keep his streak alive at Vengeance, or will the third time be the charm for the Legend Killer on June 25?

Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat Match
20060612_Veng_CarlitoNitroS1.jpg

Dot Com Rundown: At Vengeance, Shelton Benjamin will face both a new foe and an old foe when he defends the Intercontinental Championship against Carlito and Johnny Nitro in a Triple Threat Match.

The odds are stacked against Benjamin, who doesn't have to lose the fall to lose his gold. Will Carlito or Nitro’s golden streak continue on June 25 or will the most athletic Superstar on RAW hang on to his championship gold?

John Cena vs. Sabu in an Extreme Lumberjack Match
cenavssabu.jpg

Dot Com Rundown: At Vengeance, two brands will collide when former WWE Champion John Cena takes on ECW’s suicidal, homicidal, genocidal high-flyer, Sabu.

Later that night, Heyman announced an Extreme Battle Royal with the winner to face Cena at Vengeance. It came down to Big Show, Big Guido and Sabu; after Show eliminated Guido, the F.B.I. member held onto Show’s arm. Sabu capitalized by slamming a chair into the 7-footer’s back, eliminating him to win the match and the right to face Cena.

So will the former WWE Champion get some revenge on ECW at Vengeance, or will June 25 be the day that Sabu and the ECW Rebels take Cena to the extreme?

D-Generation X vs. Spirit Squad
20060612_Veng_DX_vs_Spirit.jpg

Dot Com Rundown: For the first time since the Attitude era, the original D-Generation X is back, but Mr. McMahon wants nothing more than to send them back into the annals of sports-entertainment history. In an attempt to rid RAW of the defiant duo, Mr. McMahon has set up a 5 on 2 Handicap Match between DX and the Spirit Squad.

The Spirit Squad has already taken out Shawn Michaels once before. But it was when they tried to do the same damage to Triple H, that the group reunited and foiled their plans. After Triple H embarrassed Mr. McMahon by not joining the Kiss My Ass Club and giving the Chairman a Pedigree, the Spirit Squad tried to punish The Game in a 5 on 1 Gauntlet Match. But HBK shockingly made the save, and after disposing of all five members of the Squad, the Showstopper and the King of Kings reunited.

To cap things off they looked they stared down the Chairman and delivered a series of double crotch chops. As if Mr. McMahon wasn’t enraged enough, Triple H put the icing on the cake when he climbed the ropes and mooned the Chairman.

Will DX still be laughing after Vengeance, or will the Chairman put HBK and Triple H back on the Highway to Hell? Don’t miss Vengeance on June 25 at 8/7CT to find out.

Edge vs Rob Van Dam(C)
WWE Championship Match

20060611_Veng_Edge_vs_RVD.jpg

Dot Com Rundown: Rob Van Dam utilized his home-field advantage perfectly at ECW One Night Stand and as a result, he walked away as the new WWE Champion. But, he may not have been able to accomplish that feat without the help of the Rated R Superstar, Edge.

Edge, who was already established as the No. 1 contender thanks to a victory over Big Show, showed up from out of nowhere at One Night Stand and speared John Cena through a table. Since it was an ECW Rules Match, it was legal. Then, with both referees knocked out, Paul Heyman came to the ring to make the three count. Even though Heyman wasn’t a licensed official, since it was ECW Rules, that was legal as well. Edge’s hatred for Cena was so great, that he couldn’t bear to see him walk out of the Hammerstein Ballroom with the WWE Championship.

At the premiere of ECW on Sci Fi Channel on June 13, Edge came to the ring while Van Dam and Paul Heyman were addressing the crowd. Edge told RVD "no matter what I think of ECW personally, I respect you," adding that "it will be an honor to face you and tear the house down at Vengeance."

Edge and RVD shook hands following the statement, but as the champion turned around the Rated-R Superstar blindsided him with a spear. The confrontation eventually turned into a three way brawl with John Cena, from which Edge was able to escape by pushing the two men into each other and giving Van Dam a low blow.

So at Vengeance, will Edge be able to regain the WWE Championship and bring the gold back to RAW, or will Rob Van Dam show the Rated R Superstar that he’s not extreme enough to be the champ? Don’t miss Vengeance on June 25 at 8/7 CT to find out.

It's a rerun, it's from when they were in Mexico in Febuary/March.

ECW House Show Results:

There are no hard cameras but they do have a handheld camera. There are a lot of fans at the show.

They played a pre-paid message regarding WWE's proprietary rights. The fans chanted, "F*** you Vince." Ring announcer Justin Roberts was booed out of the venue when he came out. There are mats around ringside.

The FBI vs. Danny Doring & Roadkill - FBI played babyface. Mamaluke did a flip senton to the floor on Doring. Roadkill dove off the top and hit his partner. Mamaluke scored the pin on Roadkill with a DDT.

CM Punk vs. Stevie Richards - Punk got a huge reaction and came out to his ROH music by AFI. Punk forced Richards to tap out in a really good competitive match. They shook hands after. Punk appeared to be bleeding from the ear.

Francine won an extreme bikini contest over Kelly and Trinity. Kelly got in Francine's face and was shoved down. Francine and Trinity had a catfight. Trinity tried to moonsault off the top to the floor on Francine but missed. Francine went back after Kelly, and tried to take her top off. Mike Knox covered Kelly and laid out Francine. Balls Mahoney hit the ring for the save and a new match started.....

Mike Knox rolled up Balls Mahoney and scored the pin while holding Mahoney's pants after Mahoney missed a chairshot. Crowd didn't give Knox a chance and booed the hell out of the finish.

Sabu defeated CW Anderson by submission with the Camel Clutch. Sabu put Anderson through a table with an Arabian Facebuster before the finish.

We are now at intermission.

Sandman pinned Justin Credible with the White Russian Legsweep in a Dueling Canes match. No Metallica for the entrance. Short.

Paul Heyman came out. Some of the fan chanted "This show sucks." Heyman said that they had to make some compromises but the bottom line was ECW was back and they would beat the compromises in end. He said that he's waited 5 years to be back in the ECW Arena and that no matter what porno rejects and wannabes and losers ran here, ECW is back. He admitted Sandman's music sucked. There were two reactions from the crowd. Those who loved it and those who were trying to shout Heyman down. A fan tried to start a John Cena chant and was ripped by Heyman. Heyman pushed the July 4th taping and then introduced Tommy Dreamer.

Tommy Dreamer gave a speech talking about how his daughter was hurt today after falling but once the got the +" sign, his wife and family told him to go to the Arena because they knew how much the fans meant to him. Dreamer said that everyone who was here today, couldn't make it or was no longer able to be here were part of a family. He said they raised the bar for wrestling and everyone would have to work harder to do it again and show that ECW guys are the best in the world.

Dreamer said the fans in the Arena decide if you will make it in ECW and called out Big Show. They brawled around ringside and even into the bleachers. Show pressed and dropped Dreamer through a table to the floor for a two count. Dreamer came back and tried to hit the Spicoli Driver through a table but couldn't lift Show. Show chokeslammed him for the pin. Crowd hated Big Show including "Don't Come Back" chant. Dreamer got a nice ovation as he left.

The main event is Rob Van Dam vs. Kurt Angle with Dean Malenko as the special referee. Angle didn't get a big pop. Van Dam was greeted like the great Homecoming had taken place. They had a good match, with Van Dam getting the pin with the Five Star Frog Splash. Both worked really hard.

I'll write much more about the show tomorrow. It wasn't terrible by any stretch but there was a vocal segment of fans who didn't want a WWE show, they wanted the old version of ECW and they vocalized that all night, even when Paul Heyman was addressing them.

:lol from the ECW house show:

After Van Dam heads to the back, the crowd begins to file out of the building, with quite a few people knocking over chairs and grumbling about the show. Roughly 2 minutes into filing out the building, all hell breaks loose near the entrance way as a group of about 10 people get into a wild fistfight. And do you know why they got into a fistfight ? Because a few of them had started a small John Cena cheer during Heyman's speech. And to top it off, someone recklessly throws a chair into the scuffle and ends up hitting someone that was just trying to get away from the whole situation. Security eventually breaks it all up and scatters the instigators outside. And what do you know? One of the geniuses picks ANOTHER fight right outside the building with a completely different person because of the same pro-Cena sentiment. As I said before, ECW fans are great because they're passionate about the product, but at the same time - they can also be some of the outright dumbest pieces of garbage around.

Say this aloud to yourself, "There was fistfight because one guy said he liked John Cena."

ECW fans are both great and terrible at the same time.

so they somehow managed to BLOW a house show? WTF?

Paul Heyman came out. Some of the fan chanted "This show sucks." Heyman said that they had to make some compromises but the bottom line was ECW was back and they would beat the compromises in end. Those ECW 'fans' just seem stupid. Starting a fight becuase of a pro-Cena chant? Nothing great about that. Just reeks of stupidity.

I had a rant before about wishing injury on a worker before. I won't repeat it, but that is pretty low. To wish injury on someone in a worked 'sport' is about as mature as those guys fighting because someone had the nerve to say something positive about Cena.

As far as those DX shirts with Chyna, I am sure that they just started pressing the old shirts again just like with the DVDs. I would be shocked to see her back in the WWE. But stranger things have happened.

I was at the ECW House show tonight, and I wasn't dissapointed - and that's because I came in expecting it to be a WWE house show. It wasn't very extreme at all, but there was some good action and the crowd was insane all night.

Highlights of the show-

Big Show vs Dreamer - if tonight was any indication, then these guys are going to have a great fued. The action was all over the place and Show is truly the monster he should be. I'm suprised I didn't wind up fighting someone, because I was the only one cheering for Big Show! Crowd hated Show, but I think part of it was them just trying to rebel against WWE in any way they could.

CM Punk - Hell of a debut. Hell of a debut! Punk was in top form tonight, and he is going to be something special in the new ECW. He played a face tonight, but hopefully he'll debut on TV as a heel. He used his ROH them, the song by AFI "Miseria Cantare", so hoppfully this means that WWE liscensed it for use on TV! I was suprised to he came out to it, and me and and my girlfriend proceeeded to MARK OUT.

RVD vs. Angle - Contrary to other reports, Angle did get a huge pop when he came out, but when he was on offense early on a huge "F*CK YOU ANGLE" chant broke out, followed by the other half of the crowd chanting "LETS GO ANGLE!" (I think I actually started the pro-angle chants, but too drunk to remember). The dueling chants went on for a long ass time, and it was a blast. RVD was undoubtedly completely over. Anyhow, Angle spent most of the match putting over RVD's moves...I was suprised with the somewhat lack of offense from Angle. He did hit a top rope belly to belly though. Great match, slightly below PPV quality.

Lowlights -

The booking- Matches were just thrown together. Made it harder to care about the matches. Besides the above matches, everything else was just kinda...there. The opening tag match was decent though.

Mike Knox- This guy just blows, well at least he did last night. Last night, he only proved two things: that he looks a hell of a lot like Charlie Hass, and that he has the mobility of the Great Khali.

Sandman- It was cool that I got to touch him, but man he really needs to reinvent his character. Update his moveset, or something...he just can't be the old sandman with his generic ass music.

Overall it wasn't a waste of money and I had a good time, but most people went in expecting classic ECW for some reason. Dumbasses. It was surreal seeing Angle and Big Show in the Arena after only seeing them in big stadiums over the years. Very cool.

I actually think WWE had the right idea when they decided not to run all ECW shows in small venues with hardcore ECW fans. It will be interesting to see if the July 4th Wachovia Center taping will draw casuals along with the hardcore ECW fans. Last night, during his promo, Heyman was trying to rally fans to attend the tapings, but they booed the hell out of that notion. I think this show will judge whether ECW can survive or whether it'll be cancelled after the 12 week season.

Here's to hoping Sabu botches something tonight(a real stretch, I know) and sidelines Cena for 6 months!

Just so we'll have to sit through 6 months of weekly John Cena rehab updates about how he's fighting the odds every day in order to get back in the ring and regain the WWE Championship?

No thanks...

I'm glad the ECW fans rejected the new shit, even going as far as to boo ECW vets and Paul.

I can't say I agree with them, as reliving history just is not possible, but it's true that this new ECW just doesn't have anything special about it. At least not yet.

Personally, between ONS I and II, the WWE vs ECW show, as well as the 2nd ECW on Sci-Fi show, i'm optimistic about the new ECW. Its already been better than most of the stuff the WWE has put out lately, and atleast its focused on wrestling. Vince is putting a lot of money into the brand and to it's wrestlers, so OBVIOUSLY we aren't going to see the 30-45 minute+ matches or huge spots occuring like headlocks like we used to with the original ECW.
