WWE 2K17 |OT| It's the same game, yes it is!

The best part is the ref clearly not giving a shit. I don't blame him.

What I would love to see is a "WWE Classic Arcade" compilation with pixel-perfect, online enabled ports and emulations of Wrestling Challenge, Wrestlefest, Wrestlemania Arcade, Royal Rumble Arcade and simulations of the Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania pinballs. I'd buy that in a second.

Simulating the Royal Rumble all participants are CPU controlled.

Cena at #1 be interested to see how this goes and white ends up winning and how it lines up with Vince's narrative.

Beautiful Cena is first one gone, eliminated by DDP.

can you create a lobby and invite your friends and play against random people online ??

wwe2k15 and 16 removed that and it's the only reason i don't play them anymore

This year feels really lackluster, and I'm saying that as someone who has bought every wrestling game since the n64 days. Good lord, these menus are atrocious - it's almost as if the team said "fuck it, just put it out." The lists are functional I guess but it's really strange. I also just got out of a match between Kane and Triple H with Steph accompanying. I accidentally kicked Steph and got immediately disqualified - wish they would've changed that from the last couple of years.

The roster feels good, but I can't shake the feeling that much less effort was put forth. It's wild to compare this gen's game to something like WWE '13 or '14 which I feel like had the most robust roster and the best outfit variety. But getting rid of Showcase stings the most. The Stone Cold showcase was insanely fun last year. I'm enjoying the game but it feels like they just didn't care much.

The design of the promo engine stuff looks like it's still in beta and awaiting final assets to be applied.

Yeah, some places the menus and design stink while in Universe mode I thought they did a great job of upgrading the overall presentation.

Don't know why they don't let me turn off the show intros. I mean, I get it TONIGHT IS TH NIGHT Cole: This is Raw.

Although when the crowd boos the shows opening, it still makes me giggle.

I think the terrible menu design is enough to say that less effort was put in. And, don't know why they decided to use in-game models for the wrestler selection screen. Past games used real portraits.

Psh, enjoy the game... it's nowhere near as bad as the Anti-Yuke's force here claims it is.

Ideally we just need an alternative wrestling game that appeals more to those looking for a more arcadey style. Everyone looks for different things with these games.
I never understood why those people continue to go in every years thread just be negative it's like every weeks Walking Dead thread when that show airs. The same people show up every season and every week complaining like if you hate it so much stop watching and/or go do something else?

Or maybe some people just thrive of being negative.

From seeing TonyPizza's gameplay on Youtube, it's still like last two games where you create a game and it finds a match for you.

Which is terrible. And they still drop you out entirely of the search if someone leaves. Pick your match, wait 5 minutes, then you see someone join and drop and you start all over again.

I do understand your point, and trust me, I really did enjoy 2K15, 2K16, etc. Those games delivered the experience I wanted - however lacking in certain modes which I have mentioned before i.e. triple threat/fatal four way elimination matches.

Then 2K17 comes out, and it's still lacking in match types, and assets still being used from past games. CM Punk is mentioned during Jericho's entrance? Also, the winner of the elimination chamber is the same celebration animation used in prior years. The menu system is a huge step back from prior years. Why just text boxes? I loved seeing the wrestlers portraits in all of the menu settings. WWE superstars draw our attention to the product, and to leave them out of the menus unlike past years is a real head scratcher. And then, no wrestler real life portraits in the wrestler selection screen, just in-game models. Again, prior years had the real life portraits. Why the change? It doesn't make sense.

Last night, I turned to 2K16 on PC and the amazing mod world (that I can't wait to dive more into). Being able to modify a match to turn it into an elimination triple threat/fatal four way is incredible. The ability to load in 2K15 wrestlers like CM Punk into 2K16. Using wrestlers portraits for CAWs. The PC mod community is pretty awesome. Because of that, I will definitely check out 2K17 on PC. But, I'm just not thrilled with 2K17 on consoles so far.

.

They wanted the CAWs and in-game guys to look the same on the selection screen.

Getting rid of the wrestler portraits was a stylistic choice, and a really good one imo. I must prefer seeing the character models, and it allows created stuff to look really naturally integrated into the game. (Frankly it's basically a total recreation of Here Comes The Pain's menu system...I was just playing it a few weeks ago.)

This game is buggy as all hell though. It's by far the most messed up game 2K has released so far and closer to the THQ days... maybe even worse. It makes me wonder if there was a staff exodus or something because something clearly went wrong.

Ok, I can understand that point.

PC though, can do this: http://smacktalks.org/forums/topic/61190-modded-superstars-renders/

I will get off my PC horse though, as 2K17 is a console game right now, but I will admit I think it's really neat the ability to load these mods into 2K16 PC and replace the renders - especially making your own if you have some basic photoshop skills.

Hadn't planned a purchase until close to when it was cheaper. But yup, you can consider me a mark.

Now to recreate Bayley-Sasha III every day now up until April and the real deal (hopefully) at Mania.

I only play in Universe mode and it is highly annoying having to see the damn intro for the show. It was cool to watch the first time but that's it.

Ugh, I hate that you still can't change participants in a MITB match during Universe without it no longer letting you cash in. They allowed you before, why change it?

LOL I think that was an issue with Smackdown vs Raw 2011 too.

Do these games still wipe out your Universe stuff on DLC patches?

Won the tag titles in career and unlocked the Heyman Guy challenges and... It's almost the same as the hall of fame checklist last year.

I didn't realise Curtis Axel had so many accolades before Heyman noticed him....

There's a bug where you don't need to be a multi-time champion for the Heyman guy challenges. Got the 3 time tag one by just defending it 3 times.

Tested this on the CPU, they stay down for 60 seconds.

It was probably supposed to be 6

I do this in tag matches on the CPU in career and they seem to stay down for the match, unless its elimination and they get up after their partner is out.

Tested it in a ladder match against Lesnar, that would seem to be the most useful thing to troll with if you were playing online as it's useless for pinfalls.

Yeah, I've also Tweeted at New Legacy inc to let them know as they were finding shit like that in 2k16 as well. Should make some fun online shit :lol

Had a hell of a match with Warrior and Bret Hart. I was UW and after the momentum swung my way I beat the hell out of Bret, busted him open and everything. Dude took like 4 finishers before I finally pinned him. Was my first 5 star match. When this game clicks just right match wise it can be pretty great.

Is there a thread or website for the best creation stuff for these games. I've seen some pretty cool stuff and would love a better way of finding it.

Is there a way to, after editing someone's attire, to give him the same screen pose in the alt attire as the original attire?

Fun game with the right edits.

I have yet to do a chain wrestling sequence. Thankful that they turned it down. And if you look in the attributes, everyone's chain is about a 70 rated.

Yeah this happened to me. Minutes after I finished setting up universe mode ( which is way more of a pain in the ass than it should be to make completely custom universes, why there is no clean slate option 3 years in is beyond me...) I went to download a sick CM Punk and it wiped everything

He is the new Benoit for the company. Can't create an online Benoit, can't download CM Punk. :P

Quick guide based on what I've found;

My Career:
Fuck up tutorial - go into NXT. You get more experience and VC etc...

Become a heel - Promo is much less random if you pick the heel statements every time. Face statements can sometimes come across cocky

Immediately start a rivalry with your 'tag partner' - he's awful and easily beatable. Racking up them wins to climb the ladder - added tip; NEVER TAG HIM IN.

When you are powerful enough - start pissing off the NXT champ so you start a feud with him. Automatically bypass that No 1. contender ladder.

Added tip;
Just fork out the few quid on all unlocks. Save all VC for your pro. It get's proper expensive.
