I've just noticed in Universe mode that during promos, only a face meter is shown. I can't see a heel Meyer which is really annoying.

Ok a few things.
Submissions- damn near impossible to submit the AI - by contrast you are likely to get tapped out if they use a submission on you.
For someone used to no mercy controls I got confused greatly by the strong/grapple submission from front Facebook system. Only just figured out the difference.
Would be nice to be available to search user created content by name so I can download indie/puro wrestlers by searching for them by name.
Also a WTF moment I downloaded Goldberg using the code but I cannot find him in the roster at all. Also if the download failed how do find it in my PS4 download/purchase list so I can try again.
Edit: turns out I didn't download the Goldberg pack, downloading now.

After playing this for a bit last night, after the 11GB patch failed at 4 mins to go and made me redownload it.....
I enjoy the game but I am god awful at it. Seriously one scoop slam and pin me. Gone are the days of ps2 when you just had to mash it up like 'test your might' to kick out.
Can't see the point in the pinfall system personally but I'm sure it's been in here a while so I won't bitch too much.

I haven't bought a WWE game since 4 or 5 years ago, they never were good games but we had fun with it playing in 3 or 4 players. A thing i hated was that we often had a bug that made the wrestlers freeze and there was nothing we could do to unfreeze them, we could only restart the match and they never patched it.

My mates played it last night without me while I had to download the damn patch twice.
They had the exact same problem in 2 games out of 5.
It's clearly something that needs patching.
Do they release more patches now? I had the exact same problem with an older wwe game on xbox 360 and they never patched it.
I'm scared to think what this game is without the 11gb day one patch LOL

Funny you should say that. I did start career mode with my CAW while I waited for the patch to download the second time.
I had to face Samoa Joe in NXT and it was literally my second game playing. He stomped my head INTO the mat..... When I eventually emerged outside the ring I had red head damage.

Waiting for the patch to download, pre-patch impressions are... it's a Yukes WWE game.
Had a couple of amazing glitches, as Sasha Banks I hit Bayley with a slap so hard it hit her out of the ring and into the crowd. That and a bald Chris Jericho.
Whether they've addressed this in the patch or not I don't know yet, I just want the option to turn the commentary off and not the other associated voice audio eg I don't want to listen to the King letch over the 'divas' (seriously they didn't remove this after all the changes to the tone in the women's division IRL), but I would like to be able to hear the ref count when i'm outside of the ring.

Had a great glitch last night. Shawn Michaels turned into a noodle. I was share playing with buddy last night and he climbed the ladder on the outside of the ring top barrier side. With Kevin Owens I ran and flipped over the top rope and hit him. He flew off the ladder and into the crowd. Suddenly he had no bones and it took him a good minute to get back over the barrier and have bones again. Really wish the PS4 could record while share playing because we were dying
Question, is it still using the background matchmaking system like from 2K15 and 2K16? The old THQ/Yukes online setup was perfectly fine. You can host or join the match, edit the options (turn off DQ or submission; 2K removed these...), choose your wrestlers on the go, set entrances on or off (in the past two 2K games, you could not do entrance(!).
So if you and two buddies wanted to do a 3v3, it is private only so you have to invite your friends (only). Unless this changed.

To be honest I can't answer until I play it online tonight. My mates and I were in chat and they played a couple games while I installed the patch twice.
They seemed to suggest it was a lobby type deal but I can't confirm until later.

In reality, the responses you pick from are so generic the whole thing is a random crapshoot.

So I watched some videos on this thing and what the hell is up with the menu design? Holy Jesus. Those menus are so bare bones.

Still only 1 fucking standard powerbomb and it's the Jackknife. They had so many in past games. Now there is no difference between Vaders or Diesels. It's such a mainstay move that there needs to be variety like the ddt, suplex,body slam etc

I downloaded a mod called Match Edit, and I can now have the singles elimination matches that I want in these games. I just played a triple threat elimination match on 2K16 PC, and it went without a hitch.
If these mods come to 2K17 PC as well, which I assume they will, I will try 2K17 some more. Just disappointed its another year, and singles elimination are still not in the game. Such a huge oversight.

Soooo my buddy just sent me video of what is supposed to be a fatal four way match, but an elimination chamber is randomly present. Everyone just walks through it during their entrance, and no one is in the pods. Also Roman Reigns is the referee for some reason lmao. Once the match starts it just freezes the game. He has to sim through it now lol

I can't defend Yukes this year. They took a step back, and made an inferior product to prior years. I would hope a patch fixes at least some of the bugs, adds more elimination matches and... new menus, lol.
It's the fastest way I know. IIRC I get about 10-18K VC per match. Even more per week when my T-shirt was flying off the shelves.

I think menus are a HUGE step up because you have entire wrestler entrances in background along with music. This is what I read in Forbes review. If this is true, then it's pretty neat.

Psh, enjoy the game... it's nowhere near as bad as the Anti-Yuke's force here claims it is.
Ideally we just need an alternative wrestling game that appeals more to those looking for a more arcadey style. Everyone looks for different things with these games.

I havent bought it yet, but Im going to and i know I will have fun with it. I know the game has its problems and ita certainly not worth $60 with the jank movement, glitches and bugs but its all we get. At least until there is a Lucha Underground game where I can play as Sexy Star or Johnny Mundo amd fuck shit up!

It seems odd that they would acknowledge the problems with the system by providing an alternative but still keeping the original in there. It seemed to be pretty universally hated
This year feels really lackluster, and I'm saying that as someone who has bought every wrestling game since the n64 days. Good lord, these menus are atrocious - it's almost as if the team said "fuck it, just put it out." The lists are functional I guess but it's really strange. I also just got out of a match between Kane and Triple H with Steph accompanying. I accidentally kicked Steph and got immediately disqualified - wish they would've changed that from the last couple of years.
The roster feels good, but I can't shake the feeling that much less effort was put forth. It's wild to compare this gen's game to something like WWE '13 or '14 which I feel like had the most robust roster and the best outfit variety. But getting rid of Showcase stings the most. The Stone Cold showcase was insanely fun last year. I'm enjoying the game but it feels like they just didn't care much.
