Auxiliary suit power + escape shuttle = boom, alive and well! Luke only took back his helmet, after all.

you guys are acting as if it matters who's in the fucking suit and required some amazing acting skills. dude just stands there.

who cares. the voice is still alive and I'm sure eager to reprise if needed. the 'issue' here is why is Vader in this

one of the new characters is probably gonna be his apprentice, so he'll appear in some flashbacks

Vader didn't have an apprentice. Unless they say he did and it's Max von Sydow.

he hid him/her from the Emperor!

lol MVS would be great, oldest apprentice ever
"Am I a Sith now? I'm 92 years old"
"nope, keep studying, maybe next year"

15 y/o ruxtpin would have been freaking out and knocking over magazine racks. 30 y/o ruxtpin embraces the madness now; everything that comes to pass will still be better than what Lucas delivered to us 14-15 years ago.

HHH to bury Vader Confirmed.

Forget about the timeline and whether it's in some flashback. CAN WE PLEASE JUST GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM VADER AND IMAGERY FOR HIM?

The biggest problem with the prequels in general for me was trying to make Vader Space JEsus. It's like all three movie just existed to get Anakin in that suit. They need to find something else to promote the movie with.

Also just like the prequels, if vader appears just once in the suit then it's an excuse to sell vader merch even if he has nothing to do with the movies.

There are three possibilities here.

1. Vader appears in a flashback or dream.

2. JJ is just fucking with us.

3. The climax of the film is a Vader/Solo space wheelchair race through the trench of the new, third Death Star.

Is anyone surprised? I mean can you imagine how many Vader toys Disney is going to be able to sell? Why would they say no to all that money?

Vader could be getting his own spinoff movie... it could tie in with Star Wars: Rebels. Or maybe he's just voicing Vader in Rebels?

A) this is not confirmed at all, the thread topic is misleading, its all speculation on speculation
B) if it's ACTUALLY Vader, it will be a flashback
C) if it's not a flashback, it's going to be someone imitating Vader
D) whoever is the actor, it won't be their voice. James Earl Jones wasn't the actor for Vader in any of the movies-- only his voice. Maybe they won't use James Earl Jones (he said he's not in the movie), but they've started using other actors for Darth Vader (such as the Chad Vader guy who sounds exactly like the James Earl Jones Vader).

Big dude in a costume is about the only requirement, so possible. But even if it's just a few gestures it does require some acting.

WWE is all acting, but does Sheamus have any movie experience? Even a minor role in a WWE movie? Batista did have movie experience before getting the Guardians gig.

I have a hard time believing that Star Wars casting would hire a complete noob for the role. But having a recognizable face for marketing purposes could make it possible, but there still seems like an endless amount of possibilities from actors with actual movie experience.

I think you're forgetting that part where they burn his body at the end of Jedi.

Hmm. Well, it could be that Vader kept a bunch of clones handy. And it could be that midichlorians retain the "essence" of the original, so the revived clones would have no memory of the face light side turn. The midichlorian stuff would maintain continuity with episodes 1-3, which everyone would appreciate.

Orrrrr it could be that the Vader that showed up at the end of Jedi was a clone all along!

Come on, we're talking billions of dollars of merchandising here, they're not going to let a little thing like good storytelling get in the way.

A) Nope, not confirmed yet but a lot of actors have "confirmed" stuff like this this way before.
B) Maybe, maybe not.
C) This is not confirmed at all.
D) I feel like the major complaint is not the voice but the fact that Darth Vader (and all the old farts from the original movie) is in this movie.

Just because someone is walking around in the suit doesn't mean Anakin is back from the dead. Could be anyone or anything in the suit.

It would actually be an interesting mystery.

I think some of you really need to separate Vader/Anakin from the suit.

This could be interesting. I like everything I've seen of Ep VII so far, so I'm not going to go all negative on this. I suspect it'll be more akin to like a flashback or apparition or something.

I seem to recall there once being a rumor that someone had gotten ahold of the Vader suit or something, though.
