Hate to be that guy, but I only recently started watching wrestling and I'm completely lost on some of these terms. Could someone tell me what "Card" and "Heel" refer to? I have some basic contextual understanding, but I just want to be clear on their meaning.

Card refers to the lineup of matches. A majority of these matches don't look interesting so thats why everyone is calling it a shitty card. A heel is basically a bad guy, or someone the crowd is supposed to boo. Its understandable you wouldn't be sure on that because the morality in the WWE is completely fucked.

Just about the worst card in decades, will watch for Best and Beard...but that's it.

Cannot believe in the space year 2013 that Paul Wight is headlining Survivor Series.

They have a huge problem with AJ Lee, they want her to be a super heel...but she will always be cheered by the crowd as long as she's fighting this Total Divas stable bullshit.
Vince just doesn't get that there's a disconnection between Total Divas and a WWE wrestling show. TD's core audience enjoys curling up on the sofa and watching some trashy docu-soap, but they're not going to buy a ticket to a house show or order a PPV.

That and on WWE TV, all the Total Divas are either annoying or completely without character/gimmick. Why would anyone cheer them? Even if AJ is a heel, she's an actual character, and that's going to be cheered over a non-character every time.

Thanks.

And yeah, I really don't have any interest in any of these matches. Like, Big E just fought Curtis Axel on Monday, why do we need to see the same exact thing again?

I was looking forward to the Big Show/Orton match to see what the hell they would do to move the plot past Big Show, but thinking about it I'm not sure why I assumed they would be moving the plot past Big Show. The dude straight up looked worse than Ryback in their match on Raw.

Big Show matches are so boring, he barely even moves in the ring. Ryback at least looks like he could fuck some stuff up, Big Show is just a big lumbering giant who can't play to a crowd.

WWE Morality is very easy to understand.

These are the babyfaces because we say so and everything they do is okay because they are baby faces.

These are the heels because we say so and everything they do is wrong and everything bad that happens to them they deserve because they are heels.

When The Rock calls Vickie a fat, old, ugly, whore completely unprovoked. Clearly he's the babyface and Vickie is the heel. I mean DUH

That's not why. He was complaining publicly about his position in the company, instead of keeping that between him and management.

Chris Hero reportedly got fired for something quite similar. Vince doesn't mind if your eager and hungry, but don't air your dirty laundry in the media or Twitter, because that gets you a one-way ticket to the doghouse.

Ziggler was buried the second Swagger kicked him in the head and had the gall to exercise proper concussion protocol instead of faking his way through the concussion tests like Cena and Miz do every time they get clocked in the head.

She's honestly way more fun to watch than anyone else WWE is trying to push.

She sure is

It's that time of the month again! PREDICTION TIME!
Survivor_series_2013.jpg

This year Survivor Series has a very interesting theme. Instead of the classic Survivor Series elimination tag-team matches or the more recent interesting cards that saw, for instance, THE ROCK returning. WWE has opted for a unique concept, this years SURVIVOR SERIES is all about SURVIVING the show until the end without falling asleep out of boredom. That's right, what a novel concept that surely will rake in the buys.

WWE have done their upmost to accomplish this impressive new concept, by, for instance, not announcing more than 3 matches until less than ONE WEEK before the actual PPV. Thus ensuring you care absolutely nothing about any of the matches that didn't get any build at all. Moreso, they teased a great twelve-man tag-team match that would see The Wyatts and The Shield team up and then COMPLETELY DROPPED IT OUTTA NOWHERE to give us a Raw-level tag-match between Bryan and Punk vs. Harper and Rowan. It should be a fun match, but it's a Raw main-event, not a PPV match. Also, they've given us the real gem of Del Rio (nobody gives a single fuck about this guy) vs. John Cena (has the same match over and over and over and over again), yes, that's right, a match with two boring stale guys that have a stale match with a predictable stale outcome... And to cap this absolutely craptastic PPV off, I will ask you to name the two most boring upper midcarders in WWE right now: If your answers were Big Show and Randy Orton, congratulation, YOU WIN! These two will no doubt have a boring ass match that will undoubtedly end with TRIPLE H AND SHIELD SHENANIGANS, to give us our SIXTH CONSECUTIVE pay-per-view with a bullshit ending. Maybe Vince Russo is consulting their creative team, who the fuck knows.

So, lets get to it.

Pre-show: The Miz. vs. Kofi Kingston.
IC Title: Big E Langston (c) vs. Curtis Axel
Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match: Natalya, The Bellas, The Funkadactyls, JoJo & Eva Marie vs. Divas Champion AJ Lee, Tamina Snuka, Kaitlyn, Rosa Mendes, Summer Rae, Aksana & Alicia Fox (Natalya, Bellas, Naomi survive after hitting all of their finishers on sole surviving AJ on other team. Must bury the champion in a non-title match after all. Five minutes of this match will involve any combination of Eva Marie, JoJo, Aksana and Rosa Mendes)
Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match: Cody Rhodes & Goldust, The Usos & Rey Mysterio vs. The Shield & The Real Americans (Rey Mysterio and Cody Rhodes survive)
CM Punk & Daniel Bryan vs. Erick Rowan & Luke Harper
World Heavyweight Title: John Cena (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio
WWE Title: Randy Orton (c) vs. Big Show (This match will all be about Triple H)

If you buy this PPV you are an idiot.

I'm not too hopeful about most of the card but the two tag matches should be great. It's just a shame the two main events are a combination of 4 of the most boring people possible.

Picks!

Pre-show: The Miz. vs. Kofi Kingston.
Kofi wins because the Kofi Clock demands satisfaction. Or something.

IC Title: Big E Langston (c) vs. Curtis Axel
FIVE COUNT FIVE COUNT FIVE COUNT

Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match: Total Divas vs. Divas
Zzz...extended bathroom break...*mumbles*
But just for laughs, let's just say there's gonna be a swerve.

Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match: Cody Rhodes & Goldust, The Usos & Rey Mysterio vs. The Shield & The Real Americans
Rey and Co. win because reasons. Though I pray to hell that Cesaro does a Giant Swing on Rey and he goes flying like 20ft after Cesaro's done with him.

CM Punk & Daniel Bryan vs. Erick Rowan & Luke Harper
Should be fairly interesting at least!

World Heavyweight Title: John Cena (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio
LOL CENA WINS (C'mon, you can't expect less!)

WWE Title: Randy Orton (c) vs. Big Show
Orton wins due to HHH wankery. The end.

Pre-show: The Miz. vs. Kofi Kingston.
Ultratech has the right idea in a sense, the fate of this encounter rests on the Kofi Clock but the hands wont turn until the fight begins, no one truly knows what direction this directionless encounter will travel in until it happens, jobbin' like a fool? now with new attire? I don't dare try to predict the unpredictable.

IC Title: Big E Langston (c) vs. Curtis Axel
The Big E experiment is over lads, In his one week as champion he's not been able to live up the fantastic legacy of Curtis McGenesis who according to King on Raw had indeed been a great champion with his 2 or 3 title defences. Expect Axel to win the belt back and renew the prestige it lost over the last week.

Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match: AJ and the rest vs. Total Divas
WWE have come to greatly respect AJ for her role as a fighting champion who's here to actually wrestle and look to send a message to the reality tv obsessed team of botchers by having AJ solo the entire match eliminating every opponent. Total Divas will use this as their series finale knowing that they lost because they spent too much time making up HIGH DRAMA instead of training.

Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match: Cody Rhodes & Goldust, The Usos & Rey Mysterio vs. The Shield & The Real Americans
Oh hang on this match looks kind of fun...hah, just kidding, no one wants to see these losers wrestle so I predict WWE will give the fans what they really paid money for, a 20 minute Triple H promo on PPV! just to satiate the kids Rey will come out during backstage segments to hobble around the ring and butt heads with the brats in the front row seats.

CM Punk & Daniel Bryan vs. Erick Rowan & Luke Harper
A double count out will put this match to rest, WWE higher ups will take advantage of the disappointment from this outcome as evidence that those two vanilla midgets aren't worthy of the main event scene and that the Wyatts are too corny for this era of sports entertainment. Buy rates will also fall on this match, it's like killing a whole flock of birds with a stone thrown by one cerebral assassin.

World Heavyweight Title: John Cena (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio
John Cena simply cannot overcome his injured arm against such a dangerous opponent, a wily Del Rio will make short work of Cena through tactical arm crippling, Cena taps out like a chump after 3 minutes of beat down cementing Del Rio as a man to be feared and passing the torch to the next generation, tears will be shed and people will finally give a damn about ADR.

WWE Title: Randy Orton (c) vs. Big Show
The time has come at last, WWE have been building up Show as the new face of the company for the past few months and now they'll pull the trigger, the Big Show era will begin to a chorus of his now famous "YES!" chants. HHH will stop using other wrestlers as proxies and soon enough we'll get the legendary Show/HHH match we've been dying for.

Truly this will be a SS event to remember.

Oh let's play a game!

Based on the current WWE's roster and most people's position in the company, try to put together an even less appealing Survivor Series card!

Who the fuck are any of these women wrestlers? I use to watch and be excited for Trish jazz lita and Victoria matches noe their literally wwe saying pee break

Both championship main events are going to be really, really hard to sit through. Might just have to cut the show off at whichever one is on last.

I am sorry, but AJ Lee is better or equal than any of those women. And even if some people are going to bitch about this statement, we can at least all agree AJ is at the very least as popular as any of them.

AJ is at the very least as popular as any of them.

Nope. They haven't had anyone at the level of Trish and Lita...since Trish and Lita. Let me know when AJ actually gets a main event RAW match and you can post the above statement.

AJ has main evented Raw twice actually. Just counting matches, not segments or guest ref spots.

Yea it's a sad state of affairs. The Divas SS match has to have a spot in it where most of them get counted out/disqualified. I can't imagine sitting through 10+ pinfalls in that match.

This is today?

Also, is Big Show vs. Randy Orton really the main event for one of the 4 big PPVs? Is this real life? I hope the buy rate reaches record lows. They deserve to get bent over for burying Daniel Bryan and making him the scapegoat. Remember when everyone was mocking people who said dbry was getting buried? In a sarcastic way they'd say... "look at daniel bryan, so buried" (in response to him ending Raw, for example).

Well, guess what? he got fucking legit buried

Don't equate popularity with talent. I'll give you Trish, but Lita was never that great.

Perharps disappointed in how WWE is not promoting his and Big E Langston's match for the Intercontinental belt, Curtis Axel is now trying to promote that match himself over Twitter, even sending "WWE.com a video and demanding it be posted". The guy tries so hard sometimes.

Doesn't help that the traditional build for a minor title match is "title holder randomly loses to person on Raw or Smackdown before the PPV -> they have a match on the PPV and the title holder wins" and this time Curtis Axel actually lost the belt in the first match. Whoops!

This isn't bad, at first, then you realize he's probably just looking away because he's reading a script right in front of him. the billion random pauses give it away.

Axel's probably a nice guy, and he's fine to have around for random Raw matches and house shows, but what they thought they were doing putting him with Paul Heyman, best manager in the world, is beyond me. It's not as though he explodes with charisma in the ring to make up for his shoddy mic work. He's solid, but he's also boring. Big E is an infinitely better choice for IC Champion than Axel.

they'll still get through all 10 pinfalls in the normal allotted time for a divas match.

Nope. The Main Event is going to be John Cena vs Alberto Del Rio for the European Championship.

The European Championship had much more prestige than the WHT does right now

Curtis Axel is no Mike McGillibuddy.

Also, the WWE did a fine job of hyping its divas division on Monday night Raw when the women weren't able to grasp musical chairs' complex jumble of rules. Thank god JBL was there to mock each and every one of them.

Here are the favorites according to the betting odds:

1. Cena
2. Orton
3. Punk and Bryan
4. Shield and Real Americans
5. Total Divas
6. Big E
7. Miz

Those Cena odds as a favorite are amazing.

Judas Devlin (NXT) apparently could be joining the Wyatt family, potentially could show up tonight at SS. Don't need a 4th man imo, fine the way they are.
