This absolutely needs to happen.

"HOW YOU FEEL BOUT THAT?!"

Really hope we see the State of Decay MMO. Also would it be possible for one of the streaming sticks to play digital 360 games?
Since I think it's been said that Undead Labs won't be at E3. So I'm either expecting it to be at Gamescom or just a cg trailer announcing it

It's highly unlikely to be an MMO, obviously we won't know until they announce it (which is probably not going to be at E3, they've said they don't have a booth or a demo for E3), but it sounds like they've scaled their plans back to make it more coop/possibly shared world, rather than thousands of people on a server. I think it's for the better, State of Decay as an MMO would lose what made State of Decay special.

That would be kind of odd considering they are an American company.

Maybe if Dead Rising 4 is announced at E3 they will wait till Gamescom for Undead Labs project?

I'm aware SoD sold a lot of copies but for whatever reason it still feels like a niche game in my head. DR4 would be a lot easier to do a big flashy trailer for and have previews leak out slowly, whereas I think SoD might do better with a lot of hands on stuff as soon as it's announced because it's so mechanic based. Not to mention making sure multiplayer is up and running as soon as it's available for people to try. Perhaps that's what it is?

What would a Xbox "year of dreams" E3 even look like?

New Perfect Dark
Project Gotham Racing 5
Knights of the old republic III
Otogi 3
Lost odyssey 2
Crimson Skies 3
Metal Wolf Chaos 2
Halo Worlds
Banjo 3
Phantom Dust reboot
MechAssault?

I know what it will take...

More important than any of those games....

We need Fusion Frenzy 3.

Preferably packaged with the slim, as well as a BC free copy of Bomberman: Act Zero.

They would sell dozens, I tell you.
Dozens...

I would kill for a halo mmo. Just take the movement, abilitied, and gunplay from halo 5 and expand the warzone maps 100 times.

Add Jade Empire too.

That's totally fine..i just want to be able to build shelters and loot to survive with friends.

How long is the MS conference usually?

I work 3pm-11pm until the end of June. I have to leave my house by 2pm to get to work. Are the conferences usually just 1.5 hours or shorter? Are there ever any delays? If I watch it from home and leave at 2pm I'd be annoyed at myself even if I missed 2 minutes of footage.

I'm trying to decide if I should switch shifts at work that day and work 7an-3pm. That way I can get home at 4:30pm and watch the archived conference.

Edit: all times for me are EDT. For me the conference starts 12:30pm EDT. I leave home at 2pm EDT and start work 3pm EDT.

Dude, tell me about it. I've been getting back into SoD again recently, and there is SO much potential for shared world survival. I'd like to start a save file with some friends, and we can dip in and out independently if we want, just play some, and then the next time a friend is on, they'll see what I did when I was playing. If we come online together, then we can tackle some of the more adventurous areas of the game together.

Plus all the improvements you'd expect to the already stellar mechanics in the first game.

I've gotta say I hope a year when MS announces a kickstarter, a massively delayed game, and a remake without a release date wouldn't ever be called a year of dreams, but my main request is to keep making new IPs, ideally from new first party studios. We've had a really good amount of diversity over the past few years, KI, Scalebound, ReCore, Quantum Break, Sea of Thieves, State of Decay, and some good continuations like Crackdown 3, just keep expanding. I'd also like to hear 343 and The Coalition expand a bit more, I doubt they'll ever become a 2 team studio like Naughty Dog, but Halo Wars 2 is a step in the right direction. I don't mind if it's Halo/Gears related, just make it a fresh experience in a new genre.

90 minutes because it is televised.

For it to truly be a year of dreams for Xbox fans, you need to add:

Alan Wake 2
Persona 5 port (and a bunch of Japanew RPGs and fighting games)
Half Life 3
Marvel vs Capcom 4

He said Xbox. I'm pretty sure most Xbox fans wouldnt give a crap about Half life 3 or Personal 5. Unless you're talking about the people watching the conference then yeah sure.

12:30 is when the pre-show starts I believe, the actual press conference will start at 1:00 and go until 2:30. At least that's what happened the past 2 years I believe.

Well I would be ecstatic about Persona 5 + Half Life 3. But I think there's no way there wouldn't be a "year of dreams" narrative if all of that (unrealistic) stuff happened. If MS pulled out Banjo Kazooie 3, Alan Wake 2, Half Life 3, and Persona 5 at their conference, we'd have a new "year of dreams", whether or not Xbox fans in general care about Half Life / Persona. Edit: well maybe not Persona 5 since that would just be a port. But Half Life would contribute to the (unrealistic) narrative.

Well there's no way I'll watch it at home then. I'll figure out a way to go to work early and watch it there or just switch shifts.

Pretty stoked. I hope the Scorpio is announced and they will do some sort of trade up program.

Phil is going to start it off right this time (as in launch of new hardware.) No confusion this time around. Just give the gamers what they want from the beginning.

When has old shit ever been really exciting at E3? The best reveals are the ones you didn't know you wanted.

Since Nier Automata, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Shenmue 3, and Ico3 / SOTC3 (aka Last Guardian) were all announced last year.

New IPs are awesome don't get me wrong. I've loved Quantum Break, and I'm really excited for Recore, Scalebound, Sea of Thieves, Cuphead, etc... But the only way for it to be a "year of dreams" (as it's currently defined on message boards / by fans) is for franchises that are beloved + dormant to get sequels out of nowhere.

Last Guardian aside Sony's "year of dreams" just made me fall asleep.
Normally I don't have anything against old stuff being dragged out again but the quality and innovation is rarely good and this gen is severely lacking in good new games.
