Darksiders 1, 2, and AC: R. Nice!

Update: So I think this means that now every AC game that was on X360 is now on X1 whether it's a port or by way of BC, with the exception of AC3 and AC3: Liberation.

AC, AC2, AC2: Brotherhood, AC2: Revelations, AC4: Black Flag, AC4: Freedom Cry, AC: Rogue, AC: Unity, AC: Chronicles (China, Russia, & India) and AC: Syndicate are all available on X1 now. Not too bad for AC fans looking for all the games on one platform. I think If we ever get AC3 that AC3: Liberation will drop at the same time as well.
 
Wait, what..!?!

Ubisoft released Revelations for backward compatibility even though the Remaster is already out? Good for them.
I thought when Ubi released AC2 early in the BC cycle that it was to test the BC waters, and that they would then shelve BC releases of Brotherhood & Revelations so as to make consumers buy the Remaster.

EDIT: Ah, didn't realize that Revelations was a GWG title in April. LoL. There it is - there's that financial reasoning that was bound to be in there somewhere; there are no free lunches in life.

I had bought Darksiders 1 last year on sale, but I also own part 2 as it was a GWG game I think a couple of years ago before they started adding BC games to the list.
 
Well, today marks the day where I've hit 151 BC games.

Great work BC team, you only have another 140+ games to go for me!;)

Seriously though, they're doing great work.
 
Cool, though AC Rev and Darksiders will already be BC next month regardless, so not a huge boon today. Still nice though since I own DS1 and 2 digitally.

Unfortunately, a large amount of the remaining MS games have quite a lot of potential licensing issues that could be preventing them being BC. Because they're not altering the game in any way, a single car or music track for instance can prevent the entire game from showing up. Remember how Sonic CD on XBLA has no vocals for "You Can Do Anything"? For a game like PGR4 a single case like that with a single song could be why we don't have it.

Crackdown for example, has a ton of licensed music when driving.

Would be nice if devs would use online music streaming to skirt licensing issues, especially like if MS use it for Groove like they do in Forza.

That way they can have their "intended" licensed soundtrack never give them issues.

I don't see why MS let users rip the games themselves. The conversion tool could locally on the XBOX ONEs themselves and that way nothing has been redistributed from their side.

Probably just a case of wanting to keep things simple. You couldn't do this for any digital release (or digital purchase of a physical release), and its probably unappealing to publishers anyway, as no license logically also means no ability to sell anymore.

That's fair to say, but you have things like Grand Theft Auto IV and Saints Row IV both being BC, and that doesn't even cover to odd absence of Halo 3 and 4.

Yea, it's definitely not the case for all games. I don't think all cases should be considered equal either though. If your game already releases on near every platform under the sun, or you've recently remastered it for the current generation, then the BC release probably falls under conditions you've already somewhat accounted for.

I guess it would really depend on how bad the bugs were. There have been at least a couple games that have received patches/updates right before they they went BC (Skate 3 comes to mind immediately, which was for online play between disc & digital owners). I just remember someone saying the game ran like trash (although I never noticed anything the few hours I played of it).

Who knows, hopefully it comes soon though. Would love to finish it, then actually get around to beating Fable 2.

When you say "like that," what exactly do you mean? The sailing? Then play AC: Rogue, which is recently backwards compatible and focuses a lot on the sailing which was in Black Flag.

I will definitely check out rouge. I wonder if it will also end up being GwG at some point since it seems like they are giving away a lot of AC games.
 
Still holding out hope that Deathsmiles 1 & 2 get the BC treatment.

Very cool to see Daytona added. Is it the same version that came out on PS3 some years back, where its just the arcade tracks? Like nothing from the Dreamcast release or anything? I might buy it again anyway just because its freaking Daytona, but it'd be cool if it had more than the PS3 version I have.
