Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Far Cry 3 runs a world apart from the original console versions but visually, this thing aged like milk.

I loved FC3 to bits but I think I'll go ahead and reinstall the PC version and do a replay at 4K. I can't go back to IQ and pop-in like this after all this time.

I see it now! Thanks for the heads up, looks like the Xbox One keeps the resolution up high even in demanding scenes, like I predicted, great stuff!
 
Glad I just bought a far cry compilation from amazon of far cry 2, far cry 3, and blood dragon. It was only $20. Only blood dragon was bc when I bought it but I figured maybe far cry 2 and 3 would be eventually. Great news! Now just need far cry 2 to get added.
 
Haven't been paying a whole lot of attention - any news on Nier?

PS - thanks for the heads up on Akai Katana, can't-not grab it at that price.

Any chance it will go backwards compatible?

Why are we still waiting for radiant silvergun? I figured after guardian heroes and ikaruga it was shoe in.
 
I think Civilization revolution will come to BC this week, It is on sale now

I remember Phil mentioning that it is one of his favorites, and he also he dropped subtle hint that a game he is looking forward to will be BC in coming weeks

is the game comparable to civilization games on PC?

Misguided hope that their favourite game out of the hundreds of games left to be made BC will finally get the BC treatment and then complaining about it every week when it inevitably doesn't is just a thing on gaming forums and Twitter. ;)

It's along the side lines, but is a streamlined version for consoles. It's super good.
It's really good on IOS too
 
With the Scorpio tech reveal coming on Thursday there will probably be no announcements for BC - time to look forward, not backwards.

Perhaps a more relevant drop now to start a good momentum?
 
I've never played it before, but Destroy All Humans Path of the Furon is $1.99 on Deals with Golds this week. Hope that ends up becoming BC soon.
 
Nice, I just bought Civ Revolution this morning since you guys were saying it would likely come to BC.

$5 is my sweet spot for impulse buying 360 games that I may or may not play but now that we know it's BC it was worth the extra $3.

Civ Rev is a good game and one I enjoyed despite not liking traditional PC-esque strategy titles. It's worth trying even if you're not a fan of the genre.
 
I utterly love Civ, so much that I still playing III and V and don't feel the need to buy VI.
Eager to see how different is from the mainline titles.
 
Decided to pick up Civ Rev due to the sale, so it was nice to see it is BC now. Still holding out hope we get Assassin's Creed III soon. They are really churning out the BC titles.
 
Have they ever said anything about Radiant silvergun being added to BC? That game was such a huge get for them I would have figured that they would really want it to be added.

it's very simplified and very addictive. i would play that game for hours while listening to comedy bang bang and i'm excited to do it again!
 
How are online multiplayer games like Black Ops when it comes to backwards compatibility?

Any there any side effects from the original or does it pretty much play the same as the original?

I think it took pretty significant effort to get it running correctly on the 360 in the first place, wasn't it on partnernet for forever?

They behave no differently than the original does. No side effects I am aware of.

I guess I was just hoping that since it is up on 360 it wouldnt take to much to get it going on XB1. Every time this thread is bummed I come in hoping for NG2 and RS, but especially RS. I had to sell my Saturn copy a while ago, and I traded in my 360's to get the Xb1's.

I may pick up an Xbox 1 or Scorpio at some point, I want games like Rare Replay etc. So all 360 save games only go to the cloud? Can't save the file locally at all?

The game is saved locally and auto-synchronized with the cloud, just like regular Xbox One games.
