Xbox |OT| Power Your Dreams

FH4 is just insane looking on XSX. So smooth and beautiful. All this power while nearly completely quiet and cool. Even visually, the console itself kinda fades into the background of your setup. I remember an article stating something to this effect: "It's like it's not even there." It's true.

I've had it downloading through the night. It's in the always-on/standby mode and I've just been adding games from my phone as I think of them. Loading times are ludicrously fast compared to Xbox One gen consoles. I haven't had a chance to try Quick Resume since I'm stacking a bunch of games first.
the 60fps now is nice, felt really weird for me when i played it cause i always played 4k30

Someone asked earlier about Series S/X enhanced games, you can now filter by it as a category

Huge props for the pre install feature. I was undecided with Valhalla but pre installed on my external just in case, and transferred it over when I set up.
Mrs Flintty just got me the physical game and all I need to do is download the XSX patch, which I had already started. Love it.

Heads up for those having synchronization issues with the included controller , my controller wouldn't sync at all until I plugged it with an USB cable and it updated. After that it worked as expected.

I tried Crackdown 3 for fun since I didn't play it when it launched because of the bad reviews.. loading is really fast and gameplay is a lot more fun than I expected. It's almost as good as the first one, but the quality of the environment and the art direction is all over the place. Next game will be Jedi Fallen order since I didn't finish it on my X one X because of the bad framerate, looks like it wont be a problem anymore. For those who tried AC: Valhalla, is it worth it? Since Cyberpunk was delayed I'm looking for a good ''next-gen" game to try in the meantime.

I think I might have spoken too soon. The patch finished downloading but it kept saying I don’t own the game. So I launched from the disc and it’s now downloading another 46GB patch 😫

Edit: Yup it’s a whole new fucking install and I have two versions of the game on my drive. What the fuck MS? 🤦🏻‍♂️

Anyone having HDMI-CEC issues? I got everything to work with the media remote save for the volume control. I’ve tried everything, and it will not work on either setup. Series X and S.

Well, i just loaded up gears tactics to carry on a game, it came up quick resume then it threw me back to dash.

now i try to start gears tactics, i just get a black screen.. I have tried all sorts to start it and nothing is working.
I hope i have not got to reinstall it.

I have a feeling this quick resume might be more trouble than it's worth...

I took an infrared thermometer and pointed it everywhere inside the top of the XSX along with a flashlight immediately after 1 run on Halo Exp. in FH4, then while car just sat in the race on the second run, and the highest temp I could register was 50°C, mostly ranging in the mid-40s. The surface was ~32°C right at the edge of the top vent, then around 20°C on the rest of the unit's surface. The air feels warm and the fan runs at a relaxed speed with very little perceivable noise coming out of the system.

Too bad it's a Swtich port and not the superior PC/PS4 original.
I've got the Steam version, I think this one has some content not on there? Could be wrong.

In any case, DQ on Xbox (Game Pass even) is great to see
The game has a ton of QOL enhancements, additional quests, a 2D side story w/ the ability to play the full game in 2D, and an orchestral soundtrack. It is a huge step up over the original the only downsides are the lower render resolution and low res muddy/soft textures. I would assume the former wouldn't be an issue on Xbox/PC and the latter is somewhat masked by the art style. A shame that there is no true definitive version with the S enhancements and original graphics but don't let that stop you from playing it. Absolutely fantastic JRPG.

Frankly the lower quality graphics on JRPG titles like DQ don't bother me. What JRPGS lack in graphical fidelity they make up for in story and gameplay. Really excited this game is on Xbox now. I've encouraged several friends to try it.

Big interview with Phil Spencer in here confirms more studio acquisitions are on the cards, is curiously wearing Sega blue socks
Fairly sure it's still "wednesday" in parts of the world as i type.
The clues are continuing to stack up.

Likes moldy games
While I'm over the moon with the X I'm a bit pissed off at 3/4 of my games don't show up when i connect my external drives. There's possibly 160 missing but when I connect back up to my One X they are all there working. Any Ideas Or anyone have the same problem? I don't have the fastest internet either.

It took a few minutes for mine to populate.

So I just tested Skyrim loading into various places across the map, and it loads in literal seconds. Framerate also seems far more stable than it was after the initial 4k update, but I don't know if that was fixed before the Series X was released.
No it wasn’t well for me there was lots of slowdown, made me stop playing it this is really great news thanks again.

I still can't believe there was no new consoles in the wild yesterday. My cousin drove all around town and I have online alerts put everywhere. What kind of release day is that! My concept of release day and Microsoft's concepts seem to differ. I'm just salty lol.

Get my Series X tomorrow. So excited. Disappointed I did not snag a PS5.

Question for you all- what is the best 32" or smaller monitor to take advantage of all the Series X capabilities?

No monitors exist with HDMI 2.1 yet, so you'll miss out on 120hz. If that doesn't matter to you, Digital Foundry has a really good list

Make sure it's 4k, has Freesync and HDR and is at least an IPS.
