XM sees satellite radio built into myriad gadgets

XM Satellite Radio Holdings is investing in ways of building its pay radio service into gadgets ranging from MP3 players to video game consoles in an effort to boost its reach and subscribers, Chairman Gary Parsons said Wednesday.

"We would see the ability for consumer electronics manufacturers to perpetuate the availability of XM's service down to clock radios and DVD players," Parsons said at a Banc of America Securities investors' conference......

Interesting... I recently subscribed to XM, after receiving 3 months of service when I bought my car... I really like it, especially since the "dance" stations in NY don't even play dance music. I was thinking about something like this, I could see it being fairly interesting in a GTA game but I dunno how it would take off. I just hope XM becomes a successful, long-term thing (I really really hate the conventional radio)
 
That would be kinda cool. Imagine if the next Xbox allowed you to tune into an XM station in a driving game for your soundtrack.
 
that would help "personalize" your GTA experience, it would be nice to get your local radio newsfeed while driving around and killing hoes!!!
