Don't forget to get to Driver Level 25 (you can do so by replaying most races in the Free Race mode) and buy the decal it unlocks. It gives you a trophy!

What level should I be at to take on the
Meteor racer?

It was like racing Takumi without any mods. D: How soon until I can upgrade the chassis and such?

I managed to do it at level 1 lol, although that was pretty challenging (took over a dozen attempts or so). That said, level 9 sounds about right.

Not sure about upgrading the chassis. There are two upgrades in total and the first one is probably at level 8 or the whereabouts.

Finale End of Chapter 1 Spoilers:
Was not expecting for Kage to say that Morinaga is dead. Holy shit!!!!

Yeah, I was curious to see if they intended us to not recognize him or not, but obviously that wasn't the case when the reveal came that they were high-school classmates that he wore it to hide his identity from Shinada. (as well as the people around town, since he had people after him.)

Yeah that was what I figured too

Finally beat the game last night. Man, that was an awesome ride. 66 hours and around %22.60 completion rate.

Last chapter of finale was so crazy.

End game spoilers

Aizawa being the son of Omi's chairman? Okay, now that was a twist that I would never see coming. Again the build up before the fights wasn't so good but the actual fights were great. Really loved fighting Majima as Saejima that one became one of my favorite fights in the game.

Baba Vs Shinada was okay but it really felt unnecessary story wise since Baba already wanted to leave. Kanai fight on the other hand.... yeah, that was quite the opposite. Story wise it made sense and needed to happen but man I really didn't like fighting him AGAIN. The pay off was great tho. Every major Yakuza family in freaking country bowed before my man Akiyama! Now I fully expect Akiyama to have his own legend in Yakuza 6 :)

But the best fight in the game was without a doubt Kyriu Vs Aizawa. That entire fight was so goddamn hype. Aizawa had so many freaking health bars that at one point I was beginning to think that it might be one of those JRPG boss fights that you are actually suppose to lose, lol.

Ending could have been better but I kinda liked what they did with it. Especially the scene after credits when Kiryu is crawling in the snow all bloody and is trying to get back to his loved ones. That had the potential to be a really emotional death scene but then after Haruka shows up the game just ends which would have been a huge bummer/cliff hanger if we didn't already know about 6.

So, all in all, really loved Yakuza 5 and it probably has become my favorite Yakuza and is definitely my GOTY for the year.

I might have done the main story but I am nowhere being done with this game. There are still tons of side stuff that I wanna do/try so I'll be playing this for a long time :)

Before I finish my post just a few heads up for people who still haven't finished the game. If you've played a Yakuza title before then you already know most of these stuff but still I feel like it wouldn't hurt to go over them once more.

1. Make sure you have at least 2 hours of free time before attempting to proceed in the last chapter of finale.

2. Bring tons of healing items for each character. Remember that you have to do this manually for each character so make sure you do before proceeding thorough finale's last chapter.

3. There is a cutscene after the credits. So yeah, don't miss that.

Timing is everything.
I thought that was the comedy event

Event details:
It is the show format where they are asking questions, and you occasionally have to press a button prompt to smile for the fans.

The questions:
Do you ever get picked on by the other contestants on the show?
-No, never
-Sometimes
-I'll leave it up to you to imagine

I bet the audiences are sometimes much smaller when you perform off TV. Does that kind of thing make you lose your incentive to do your best?
-I always try to give it everything I've got
-A big crowd really gets me going
-The fewer the guests, the harder I try

But, as your rivals on the Princess League, what are they like when you meet them backstage? (Referring to T-Set)
-They're just as they appear on TV
-They act pretty aggressively toward me
-We get alone great with each other

Wrap up:
-I am grateful for all the time we had together
-Thank you, everyone!
-Please continue to lend me your support!

The answers I put to win it:

-Grateful

Does the question mark over the taxi station always remain? I've completed all of the taxi missions and races, but it still has the question mark there seemingly indicating that I haven't completed something.

bad gameplay lol

That's a substory marker. Talk to anyone in there with a word balloon over their heads.

Part 3 Questions:

I have 13/15 subquests completed on Haruka and Akiyama and I already reached the end..will I find more in later chapters or am I screwed?

You're fine with Akiyama, and Haruka has one more right at the very end of Part 3, in the Dyna Chair office (you have to talk to Yamaura to start it, the question mark icon should be right outside Dyna Chair, though it's kinda covered up by the pink objective marker so you may have missed it).

I got that one, the one where you have to get the signature? I swear I searched high and low at every place and I still didn't find anything :/

I'm not sure how you could have missed any others then, since they're always marked on the map, and that last one in Sotenbori is the only one that's really easy to miss. You do get one chance to go back to Sotenbori later in the game, so you might be able to do whichever one you missed then, and if not you can do it in Premium Adventure once you finish the game. Haruka's last substory comes in the final chapter, though. So don't worry about that, you only missed one.

Ah, that's a relief. I was worried that I missed a chance to fight Amon.

Shinada's a pretty great guy! His fighting style is ass for days but he's a great protag.

Finale Final Chapter here we go, I assume it's going to be like 4 and I do a boss fight with each character, so 20 recovery items each!.

I'm actually really digging Shinadas fighting style so far, it is slow and cumbersome in comparison to the others but still pretty damn effective.

Do note that completing all substories doesn't unlock Haruka's Amon battle. You have to complete her work schedule for that.

I'm starting to get used to his more desperate fighting style and it's actually pretty neat. Situational, but neat.

Ah, makes sense!

Also holy shit this gas station is playing Jet Set Radio songs

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Part 3 side quest question:
so I said fuck it to the comedy club side mission, even WITH a youtube video playing on my laptop i cannot get the timing down on the japanese sentences .. they should have made some kind of triggers to tell you when it's the right time ...

i moved onto chapter 4, am i fucked and can't complete quests now ? will i be able to revisit it later ?

Wow.. end game spoiler d
id they really leave it on that cliffhanger for 3 years?
Yeah.

I would have been so annoyed if I had play this 3 years ago, but now it's not a problem cause we already know about Yakuza 6 and Kiryu is in it so he survives :)

Yes.

well i reached shinada....
don't think i dig his baseball theme so far. all that extensive sidequest text and tutorial stuff isn't very inviting at the beginning. i dig his fighting style. oh yea, that masked guy is too obvious.

what's that song mitsuyoshi sings at m store?

Finally started putting a bit more time into the game.
The sequence legit taxi minigame => racing taxi => garbage picking side => RAMEN KING => taxi customer that needs to poop but wants
to clock in at work first
=> office
malware
had me dying.

kinda silly that you apparently can't reverse with the cab, tho. Also silly that you need to use turn signals even in that one little bend in the lower left corner of the map that has two stops, what with the section after the first stop being strictly one way. Also god damn those pedestrians are suicidal.

I was hoping to actually do all the side stuff in this game but the hunting missions are starting to test me. Very tempted to just continue with the story.

You can always return to it later. Almost nothing in this game is able to be missed.

I would recommend just playing the story at your own pace and make a separate save in the last part for side-stories/objectives. If you beat the game then load up a save in free mode (called Premium Adventure), any of that progress henceforth will not count for an NG+.

That's probably a good idea. However, I initially wanted to get everything done as I went because I always get really wrapped up in the story and can't motivate myself to go back and do any of the extra stuff once I finish lol. Yakuza 2 was the only game I managed to 100% and, go figure, it was before trophies haha.

Ahh thanks. I kept thinking it was something related to the taxi and never even investigated the actual office. It ended up being for
the event where the guys got a virus on the computer that causes some woman to keep moaning because they were surfing internet porn at work. :p

Doing Riku's Hostess stuff nearly left me broke. I had nearly 700k yen when I started going to her and by the time I got her to S rank and a date I had around 79k. :/ Although it's interesting that hte Hostess stuff seems more in depth than a lot of relationships in other games. You actually have to get to know them to really boost their affection rather than just doing side missions for them.

Yes and
honestly I kind of loved it. I was thinking that this could possibly be the *end* for Kiryu and a pretty emotional send off. Glad to know I was proven wrong though! :D
