Looking good action looks very fast paced and cinematic.
Ryse have the "same" level of graphics.
youtubstation will disagree.
WHAT KINDA MAGIC IS THIS
Including you of course.
Tell us how you really feel.
Wow. And that's supposed to be realtime too? Wow.
Alright let's me just clear up this bullshit before it goes to far. I was specifically talking about the multiplayer in the original Gears of War, which I feel had some of the best level design, weapon placements, etc in any multiplayer game in quite a long time.
For me it was the one of the best multiplayer games ever made and that's why I said I was still waiting on a sequel since Gears of War 2 was the biggest piece of shit ever made and everyone that worked on it should be embarrassed at the game they made.
Sorry guys but I think the single player components of third person COVER shooters are so goddamn lame most of the time. I do love me a third person shooter though.
Tell us how you really feel.
Apparently some details from a French gaming magazine translated here:
http://e-mpire.com/showthread.php/127301-The-Order-1886-(PS4)?p=2676169&viewfull=1#post2676169
- The order should be in 1080p with 30fps
- the direction RAD has taken adding a grain effect on screen adds a unique atmosphere and ambiance.
- All weapons are based on models which existed in 1886 but have been modified.
- during cinematics you will be able to interact, like moving this gun.
- " dark " is the game, which could offer horrific sensation like the best from survival horrors.
- during hand to hand fight scenes , time slows down and you have only few seconds to anticipate your next move.
- the " termit " rifle has the capacity to pull out ennemies behind cover.
- lLafayette like the player, discovers the secrets and mystieries behind the order.
- The action phases seam to be pretty classic , but ultra dynamic nontheless.
-even if Galahad is surrounaded by his fellows, the avdenture is mainly solo.
-
details on hand to hand combat
- Hand to hand fights are pretty similar visually to the ones in The Last of Us. and are really brutal. fight scenes are contextual and with multiple choices depending on your surrounding. You have to look around your character with the camera during bullet time and select what you want to do.
The hand to hand fights won't look the same ever. it uses some kind of linking system colbined with player reactivity
[ description of the scene show : After takind down two opponents , galahad goes out from cover running , jumps out and attacks an ennemy from behind , Galahad takes his opponent's head and smashes it into a wall. during this moment time slows down and the player has only few seconds to push Triangle and push back his opponent on the floor , the the camera flies above galahad 's face , time slows down again, while the player keeps his opponent in down on the floor the player has again few seconds to interact. The player sees a dagger , takes it and plunges it into the throat. [ think heavay rain kind of interaction it seems
Probably like uncharted.
I know this game is SUPPOSED to be gloomy, but I'm kind of sick of gloomy environments in games. I hope there's some variety. This is an alternate universe London, right? Give us a little sunshine and some jetskis or something.
Some incredible stuff going on there... people post pics of bricks.
yep.

I'm ultra interested in knowing what this means.- The action phases seam to be pretty classic , but ultra dynamic nontheless.
Yeah, I don't believe. I want to though. This better be real and not PR talk.
Just had to re-post this again since most of you think you're so damn smart.
I can already see the trailer thread tomorrow is gonna be good.Ryse have the "same" level of graphics.
youtubstation will disagree.
That's some janky looking gunplay
Wait, so ... this:

No, don't worry! It's a video game.

Do tellGraphics look great, but I was hoping for more than what seems to be a third person cover shooter

Well, it's... Definitely a third person shooter.
Still don't like how claustrophobic the game is.
I'm not sure about that. It looks very scripted to me, but I wonder if it's not just a little 'tutorial' fight that familiarizes the player with a basic understanding of the elements of melee combat and what to do in any situation. Something along those lines.
I could be wrong though. Maybe it's just a cutscene with a QTE and melee combat looks completely different. Maybe it IS real.

a glimpse into tomorrows reveal thread ladies and gentleman
There is a reason that I have that dude on ignore. But as for this game, looking forward to seeing all the video's and interviews.Man you really want attention don't you? Don't worry I hate my dad too.
That stood out to me as well. The game looks visually impressive and the scripted/realtime events are very smooth and very cinematic. But that gameplay in the 2nd gif (gunplay in corridor) was rough. Watching him move for cover and aim looked clunky and a bit jarring. Hope its not an experience that is throughout the game.

Ryse is about as interesting as a root canal.
Ryse have the "same" level of graphics.

very happy with my xbox one and very sad with my ps4 because of bad bad exclusives...
So QTE's and diving behind sandbags and playing a shooting gallery.
Pretty much everything gaf loves about games!
Does look pretty though.
Including you of course.
Is January 2007 right after Gears of War released? Cause I seriously put a huge amount of the success and momentum Microsoft gained being owed to Gears of War.
Seriously IMO the best game of the generation. Still waiting on a sequel......

No I just don't like people taking a post I made in some other thread and using it out of context in a whole other thread and getting 50 posts of OMG OWNeD!!! Then When I reply with what I was talking about in that post it's of course ignored for 5 pages because god forbid it doesn't fit into the narrative you've made up.
Usual suspects though so whatever.
Oh joy!, another cover based shooter!!
