Duelingnetwork.com is all I have to say. Get you reintroduced to the game really quick. I dueled a ton my freshman year of college and while I was a kid. Ran a Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon deck. I was pretty unbeatable until the card was limited to one recently. Didn't duel for a year+ until this past weekend.
Good old times. Might check out 5Ds just for the hell of it one day. I also never knew that was a smiley face.
Fuck I never heard of the sequel. Colour me intrigued.
Thanks for the post man, Shaman King was awesome and anyone who watched it and liked it is an instant bro/sis on the spot. Show was good fun. Needs more love.
Huh. I quit the game about the time the first ban list came out. Seems an odd choice for banning, since it wasn't ever really that powerful.
I still say the heart of the cards thing while playing other card games.
Oh man, just read up a basic description of that Pendulum Summon thing, and it looks confusing. It's weird how they went from fusions being unusable to trying to buff fusions in GX to making a usable form of fusion via synchro and then what appeared to be a broken form of fusion in XYZ stuff, and now there's whatever this is. Man, I've been out of this game for FOREVER. They really need to hurry up and make a 3DS game for me to buy.
Also, as to people mentioning people getting hurt by duel stuff... didn't Kaiba build that into his machines or something? I recall SOMETHING like that. I dunno.
But yeah, it's always nice when something in Yugioh happens that doesn't require a card so specific that you have to wonder why someone would ever bother putting it in their deck. Then again, I'm only familiar with 5DS and Zexal through the manga (got copies for review) and I barely touched GX, so I'm super out of the loop. IIRC in 5DS there were people just straight up cheating massively with psychic powers? Also, in Zexal I liked that they at least justified the Numbers cards as coming into existence as a specific counter as a spur of the moment thing when they're needed. As opposed to the cards that just pop up out of nowhere and do that anyway in the other series.
And did they ever actually make a ritual card that anybody would ever bother using? IIRC those things were always awful by default just because of how terribly unwieldy they were to use.
Yu-Gi-Oh Wikia said:Once per turn, by using the number on the Pendulum Scale of the 2 Pendulum Monsters in the Pendulum Zones as a reference, you can Pendulum Summon any number of monsters from your hand and/or Pendulum Monsters from your Extra Deck with a Level between the blue Pendulum Scale of the Pendulum Monster in the left Pendulum Zone and the red Pendulum Scale of the Pendulum Monster in the right Pendulum Zone.[4] When a Pendulum Summon is negated, such as by Horn of Heaven, the Special Summons of all monsters that would be Summoned are negated at once.
Since you can only Pendulum Summon monsters whose Levels are between the Pendulum Scales of the 2 Pendulum Monsters in your Pendulum Zones, if they have Pendulum Scales that are either the same or have a difference of 1, you cannot perform a Pendulum Summon, because there is no Level number that exists between them. (Even if you cannot perform a Pendulum Summon, you still gain the Pendulum Effects of the Pendulum Monsters in the Pendulum Zones.)
And I also like how this is supposed to be holograms but they act hurt when their life points are attacked directly.
That's Kaiba's "Solid Vision" system, which he developed for his duel disk tech. People are hurt if they're attacked directly. Don't remember when this was explained though. It might never have been in the english dub knowing 4kids.
is THIS why Yugi's Grandpa gets hurt in the first episode after being kidnapped by Kaiba?
Yu-Gi-Oh Wikia said:Duel Monsters cards contain microchips. When the cards are played in a Battle Box, Dueling Arena, Duel Disk or Duel Runner, the microchip is activated. The data it contains is used to created the Solid Vision holograms. Although not shown in the Battle Box/Dueling Arena, from Duel Disks onward, Solid Vision has the ability to inflict physical damage to the opponent in order to make it more realistic.

Just came in to agree that Yami before the TCG was the best. PENALTY GAME!!
He trapped Kaiba in a "Hell" where monsters were killing and devouring him over and over, presumably for weeks or months.
His little brother left thinking he was stuck in a tiny prison, after cheating at a collectible game with monsters in capsules:

I guess I'm moving into oldGAF... Because when this show came out, we all knew it was garbage. And I'm talking anime fans here.. Thought it was garbage.
God do I love early 2000 and all the butchered anime we got. Shaman King, One Piece, Ultimate Muscle, Digimon. I can't even remember all the shit I used to watch before realizing it was radically different from the original.
Remember in Shaman King where whenever a character would die they'd say they were "Destroyed."? "Oh man! Faust destroyed all of his opponents up until now, you don't stand a chance Yoh!" Good times.
I vaguely remember an episode where Kaiba and Yugi were fighting and after Yugi claws back from certain defeat Kaiba steps up on a ledge and says that the resulting shockwave from his creature being destroyed will send him plummeting to his death.
I really hope I just dreamt that up.
There was a GBA game of it if you really want to.
All the talk of Shaman King, was it actually good? It used to be my favorite manga but I never finished it since I stopped buying Shonen Jump.
I kinda wanna go back and finish it but I fear it's gonna be total shit.

The art is still fucking awesome, though. Just look at that cool motherfucker.
I would love to live in a world where you could renegotiate your mortgage, win a court case, or get a job by dueling.
The Abridged Season 0 is probably my favorite thing LK's done. Nice Guy Kaiba is legitimately funnier.
The game was terrible especially when you summoned a monster with high attack points and loses to a weaker monster because elemental weakness.Yugioh Dark Duel Stories for GBC is the shit. Best damn card game ever. Ive played it on and off for years and still haven't beaten it. But it always grabs my attention again when I go to it. So much content in a small game.
What's the best online dueling system atm? Yugioh online is done. I remember there were a few fan made ones a few years ago. Which are still alive?

Put soooo many hours into this.

Don Zaloog and Jinzo. So good.
I still remember spending like $10 at Walmart to get some shitty 20 page "edition" of Shonen Jump that came with Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon.
Obviously 10 bucks ain't like those people who spend hundreds on one card, but still first time I spent more than like a few cents on a card.
And I never took that card out of the packaging to this day.
