So.... human torch is adopted?
Nvm, got wrong source
So.... human torch is adopted?
Hahaha that was the part that made me laugh the most. A grounded Fantastic Four is EXACTLY what the world wants.
Basically. If it's a huge trainwreck I wonder if Marvel has the legal power to stop it. Don't they still need to approve certain things since they still have their name attached to it, and it's ultimately their property? A fucking shitty FF movie damages the image of the comics as well.
Well, look on the bright side. If the movie ends up being poorly received critically and commercially, like it is shaping up to be, there is a good chance they will sell the rights back to Disney/Marvel. The only bad thing is that it will have to be so bad that it does irreversible damage to the Fantastic Four brand that a new film would not be feasible for many years.
Who cares of them. What we only really need are the side characters (Doom, Galactus, Silver Surfer). Fuck Richards and his crew.
Yep, but I WOULD like to see a proper F4 movie done eventually. But that's definitely the priority here. Not the titular characters themselves but all the characters tied to them.

Well, the guy who directed Chronicle is also directing this... so I have a little bit of hope.
The uneasiness of Kate Mara in that interview is hilarious. It's very grounded.
Lol, Fantastic.
Edit: After having listened to that, holy shit. She hasn't seen the script, hasn't read the comics (she read a few?). I can forgive the no costume thing, that's not a big deal. Very interesting indeed.
If she said "um" one more time I was going to reach through the screen and slap her so her that all of her ridiculous unkempt hair would fall out
Also, everything she said screams, um, train wreck.

You guys, it's not she doesn't have her script, perhaps it's so good it is already into character.

She just trusts Josh Trank's vision though.I still can see her cringing.

Maybe she is just a REALLY good actress who signed a powerfull NDA

.
Then they fucked up Sue's character.
I still can see her cringing.
Said this a long time back: what would be the feasibility for Disney to covertly sabotage or stall this production so that the rights revert? Reclaiming FF would be a huge get for their expanded universe. Not saying this is very likely, but there is a lot of money at stake here.
I wonder how much it would cost just to buy the rights back. If Fox is just going to shit a movie out to hold the rights, maybe Disney should just write a check.

I do hope Marvel can get the rights back...it'd be weird for the MCU to start dealing more and more with these cosmic level threats and the F4 isn't around to help.
I'm looking at this from the other side of the coin. It would be weird for the MCU not to have cosmic level threats like Galactus, Annihilus, Skrulls, Dr. Doom, the Shi'ar etc. They can keep the FF for a I care. Give us the villains.
They've got Annihilus as well ffs. If this shit somehow get's made the dream of an Annihilation movie is dead.
They could just end up skipping straight to Annihilation: Conquest given that they already plan on introducing Ultron anyway. Granted the plot would need major changes for multiple reasons. (No Annihilation War preceding it, several key characters would need introduction, would the Kree even be part of the MCU given that Ronan is an ally of Thanos in GotG?)

and the Thing a middle aged ex-cop?
I am optimistic for this movie as the past ones were pretty shitty, However casting of the main cast seems awful.
My comic knowledge is limited but I know the brother and sister are biological, the stretchy guy is an older graying gentleman and the Thing a middle aged ex-cop?
Or does this take place in one of the what-if/alternate universes I have no knowledge of.
Kree were namedropped on Agents of SHIELD.
Ronan is still a Kree. There are Kree in GotG/the MCU. I am also guessing that Ronan is not going to be an "ally to Thanos" after this first GotG film.
You see what maybe a kree corpse in agent of shieldI only keep up with the MCU films so the events of Agents of SHIELD are something I don't really follow, so this is news to me!
Gotcha, I didn't know Kree were already introduced and I assumed that due to Ronan being a villain working for Thanos, that the Kree weren't going to be a focus in the films.

Fox Has No Plans to Cross X-MEN & FANTASTIC FOUR!?!?
