My hype levels are through the roof. I really hope apple goes a totally different direction with wearable because they aren't revolutionizing anything right now. If anyone can do it, it's apple though, as they've proven in the past.
But there will be something, or several somethings, that will cause it to be misunderstood by those who are only able to frame new creations in the context of what came before them. Apples watch wont fit in an existing mold. It wont be a phone on your wrist. It wont be a watch as we know it. We already have excellent phones (and two new ones tomorrow). We already have excellent watches. For the Apple watch to be worth creating, it must be excellent at something else.
How would that niche market be a game changer when it never caught on with phones, the thing everyone has?I bet the watch has NFC. Book it. Paying with your watch would be a game changer.
Maybe the watch is a siri true AI personal assistant.A snippet from the longer Gruber write up that just went up a bit ago:
Very much agree with that.

It has caught on in Canada and Europe. Tap to pay is huge. America, not so much. How would that niche market be a game changer when it never caught on with phones, the thing everyone has?
Yeah, I have some hope, but I think I will be waiting until November. I will 100% buying the next iPad though - unless they seriously fuck the product line up in some way.

If you’re thinking The Tablet is just a big iPhone, or just Apple’s take on the e-reader, or just a media player, or just anything, I say you’re thinking too small — the equivalent of thinking that the iPhone was going to be just a click wheel iPod that made phone calls. I think The Tablet is nothing short of Apple’s reconception of personal computing.
I don't think he was wrong? Unless you're not saying he is. Not sure lol. But the people who were saying just a big iphone sure do look a bit silly considering the decline of the PC market and explosion of ipad market. I mean yes LITERALLY it does seem like that at first glance. But it really was much more than that in the end.

Yawwwwn either way I hate speculating the night before. I'm not one of those people that's expecting some crazy piece of tech with hot specs and sick features. I'm mostly curious to see if it will be really well designed as a fashionable accessory and have a feature or two that will give me a reason to genuinely want to wear it.
The smart watches now are just....bleh.

I know. I said although it may be true in literal sense, I feel like scoffing it off as nothing but a mere bigger iphone was selling short the experience they were trying to create with it. And obviously they did it successfully. The iPad is just a big iPhone though (without the phone). It literally runs the same apps.
Guessing.
iPhone - 45min
iWatch - 45min
iOS 8 - 30min
Developer showcase - 30min
That was the consensus for a while now. But the latest rumor is that the 5.5 will launch on the 19th with the 4.7 (just with half the units that the 4.7 will ship with). Unless another update came out that refuted that.

I guess we'll know for sure tomorrow!
There was a report earlier today saying that both phones will be released the same day. Don't know how credible that information is so take it with a grain of salt.
A lot of reports are saying they will release at the same time.
It just makes sense. Apple would rather have an extremely low stock/out of stock of a new product rather than waiting a long time to ship it out.
It builds hype and they can cry 'supply & demand' to the media.
So iWatch lol.
Hmm gotta see prices, but I might jump in on an Apple phone for the first time if price isn't obnoxious. What's the resale value like if I don't like the phone after a month or two?

No need to worry. The price will be obnoxious. Regardless of what the price is, someone will be bitching about it within seconds of being announced.Hmm gotta see prices, but I might jump in on an Apple phone for the first time if price isn't obnoxious. In how many hours, guys?
I just noticed the invite image is actually a sun dial! Nice.
Edit:
Partial heart shape indicating biometrics? Shadow of the stem/leaf is suppose to indicate close range communication (NFC)?
Edit 2:
I wonder if Apple will make the wearable solar powered? Somewhat alluded by sundial?
Edit 3:
Still wondering if Apple will finally use auto stereoscopic displays for the iPads.
I would personally love it. Never charge it. Just go outside! Like my Citizen EcoDrive!for edit 2, it probably means this is the biggest change since the sundial or something weird like that :x

Would be kind of neat if Citizen was a partner for the development of the wearable!
Tim Cook killed Dumbledore. Will there be a spoiler free thread tonight, I get home from work around 6:50 and was hoping to watch it from the beginning somewhere.
First in line in local bestbuy! Everyone was just waiting in the car so I parked quickly and lined up first! Got there an hour before midnight too, that cold weather is real...
Does Best Buy do pre orders the day of the announcement?
