So, here are some preliminary impressions of the Iron Banner:

-Using my BLUE auto rifle it will take a split second longer to take down 26+ level players. Actually, it almost feels balanced.
-The games aren't filled with 27 and up players exclusively. As of right now, they're probably a third of what I've seen. Point is, it's just like any other crucible match.
-Don't worry about the really high level guys. It's not like if their grenade touches your pinky toe you will die, you won't be one shotted through the hand, they're not walking around with mytho cast whatever bullshit. Take it easy.

I have a blue auto rifle(and invective, if I ever remember to switch to it. I average like 2 shots fired a match) and my defense rating is 1152(I just snuck over the bar for level 27, all legendary, not a single ass shard spent). So don't cower in a corner, last match a level 6 guy that was on my team mistakenly kept shot gunning me in the face, it was fine.

I'm a level 29 and half Hunter.. Fully upgraded everything.
I guess, I'll give it a shot..

It usually takes a while to take people down in normal Pvp with the Suros.
I'll get them down to 10% health, and they usually die or find a way to duck into a corner.
I suspect that won't be the case in Iron Banner :)

Not if you headshot, which is what the Regime is king at with the slow rate, lmg style clip and the sticky auto aim.

Stupid, stupid gun. I love using my hand cannon but I'm so glad I bought it for when I'm not feeling particularly accurate.

I beat the one on Earth with my level 22 alt Titan solo.

-Stay close to the entrance
-Have a Arc rocket launcher for the shanks
-The shanks only show up at the beginning of the fight, and are the only shielded enemy.
-Once the shanks are down, deal with the other ads by using the wall as cover.
-The boss is a pushover, but will summon at least three waves of ads

Shanks are Solar.

Ok thanks, I didn't know there were different missions for it. I got one on Venus. Guess I'll try again later.

Is there an XP Chart at all? I was doing the Get 9000 XP without dying bounty and was wondering if there was anything in particular that gives you a lot.

I just cheesed it and went to Earth to do it so only checked a few enemies.

Shank/Dreg = 20 xp
Vandal = 35 xp
Captain/Reaver Vandal = 55 xp

Easiest nightfall ever.

Tips.

1. Snipe everything down until the boss. (You have to snipe or you will got one shot by hopgoblin.
2. Snipe/rpg everything then the boss will appear.
3. Stay at the entrance area and the boss will stuck at the opposite side of the cliff. You have to go out of cover a bit to shoot him.
4. Kill everything that come to kill you quickly because most of them do elemental damage and can kill you in no time.
5. Fire the boss whenever you can.
6. Enjoy your reward.

So, is Iron Wrath the 10 kill streak or am I reading something wrong? Cause I just got and only finished with like a 4.0 k/d...

Second highest score twice in a row in a crucible match.
With blue auto rifle and shotgun at lv 27.
Doesn't feel much different compared to normal matches.

Okay, will try that. Arc snipers worked really well for us most of the nightfall. One shot on everything except the minotaurs.
While your under the ledge stick to machine guns. I learned that the hard way when I tried to shoot a rocket while under there lol.

Question: is it possible to get to level 29 without raid gear? (i.e. fully upgrade 3 standard legendaries and one exotic)

Anyone have any good resources to figure out how Bungie is doing the level balancing for PvP? I went a long time without managing to kill anyone else in the matches. I was level 14 and playing with a lot of level 27s.

In particular, I see guys that seem to have shields, and of course they have their high level class powers, right? How is Bungie trying to make that balance out?

In the end, I finally figured out that the auto rifles are close to useless in Crucible. I switched to a shotgun and put my Void Walker skill bonuses all on armor. Don't know what I'd have done without being able to do that, e.g., if my Warlock was at a lower level.

?

Feels the same to me to, just running around 1 shotting players with my fusion rifle.

One shot weapons won't feel any different. What will are sutained fire weapons like ARs.

A level 30 with a fully upgraded Regime vs a level 15 with a Shingen will probably be a done deal if head on, for example.

Right?

I don't want to work today, I just want to play Destiny.

Such a drug, I just can't get over the fact I failed the raid yesterday.

I just want to go back and kick Atheons ass. :\

Seeing it be 3 manned makes me feel worse.

Hey mate let me know if you want to take on the Raid again. I'll be on pretty much all evening when I get home as I want to try the Iron Banner too.

best cheese spot is the entrace to the boss area. you have high ground, lots of cover, nothing behind you, and you're close to revive. somebody can sit up top with a sniper while the others poke their heads out to do damage.

just watch out for the ships.

I don't want to be at work. I wanna play nightfall. :(

If anyone is up for raid at random times, just hit me up with a PM. Nothing planned right now, but can be good to have some PSN friends that want to play. Sometimes we're only 5 and need an extra player or so. We're in CET.

I only have Super Pox VLO and Atheon's as primary. I gues they suck in IB so i'm not even trying. I'll buy shadow price today though, but it won't be specced yet.

Will a fully upgraded Light/Beware with Armor Piercing buff work?

Absolutely hate normal PvP, loving Iron Banner.
Might be because I'm a lv29 titan with Suros lol
Why can't this be a permanent mode? It actually feels more balanced because there is no illusion of parity.

A couple more Iron Banner impressions:

-Legendary/Exotic shotguns are now even more unbalanced. too bad my invective has base damage.
-Top score bounty is going to be the hardest to get for me. I'm just not aggressive enough and there aren't so many noobs to take advantage of.

The problem with PVP isn't the guns as much but the lag. I just had trouble killing level 15's with a fully upgraded Legendary scout rifle and auto.

I wouldn't call that cheesing, but the best tactical spot. Cheesing is standing somewhere you can't get damaged while you whittle down the boss.

Nothing wrong with playing it smart!
