Dragon Age: Inquisition Review Thread

For the more minor sidequests they don't switch to a conversation camera but leave you in the regular one you play the game in. Which lets them save work on animations. Though on the plus side it also means you can just walk away if you're bored of listening to sidequest guy.

I don't know how common these are

Hopefully common.

I played more last night and this is probably my personal GOTY so far. It's that good.

Like I said yesterday, I wasn't wild about DA:O, either.

Welcome to the quest for the Red Lyrium Reapers! As with any quest, there's bound to be treasure at the end of the journey, and this adventure is no exception. By watching specially created Dragon Age: Inquisition videos and discovering hidden elements in them, you can unlock a bonus weapons pack to use in the game!

Edit: Apparently site is still busted / WIP and I guess someone put it live too early. Here is where "stuff" is done, http://quest.dragonage.com/en-us/

I want to go back and replay Dragon Age: Origins.

Does anyone know how the import data stuff works? Can I import directly from Origins, or do I need to filter it through and play 2 again as well? Can I import it from the 360 edition if I plan on going PS4 for Inquisition?

Don't bother, your choices won't be imported only your character name and maybe it's appearance/face.
Because it's clearly writted on the Keep that choices aren't imported.

Well, that's new. Does not seems to be working correctly though. It did not recognize that I saw the video, and pressing SKIP lead me to nowhere.

This game is a rare case where reviews have swayed my decision on whether to purchase a game. DA:I wasn't even on my radar a few weeks ago. Now I'm excited to pick it up.

Thanks! Had no idea about this. Don't really like stuff like this but free loot is free loot. Worked well and was less time consuming then I thought it would be.

It won't let me log in.
I was already logged in, probably through the Keep. Try logging in there and then open the link?

Vivienne - Bust of Empress Celene - on the right as the diplomat chases Vivienne in the beginning
Vivienne - Mask of Orlais - middle of page on diplomat dude
Vivienne - Masterwork Archon Staff - highlight her staff when the window explodes

Iron Bull - Bull's Chargers - Bottom left as he charges in and you see his back
Iron Bull - The Venatori - Middle screen as he lifts someone up by the neck
Iron Bull - Giant - bottom of screen as camera fades out from fallen giant.

Varric - these were already unlocked for me? They were Cassandra, Solas and Bianca. Nothing to click showed up in the video.

Now the inquisitor is unlocked but nothing happens when I click it.

The final link is http://quest.dragonage.com/prize-redemption but it asks for my username and password (as in website password - not Origin) when I click it.

Yeah, just now got to try myself and apparently site is busted / WIP still. I guess someone put it live way too early.

Will keep eye on it tho.

Didn't work for me as work around.

Edit: on BioWare forum someone said he got it done and received; "Sweet, thanks for this. Got the items, unique item level 7 dagger, staff and sword with bonus damage to living, barrier and +% heal on kill."

12 Hrs into @dragonage during an epic inspiring moment, the music swells & there's this reveal. Where most games end, DA just gets started!

And that was the end to Act I for a lack of a better term, and holy ****. Bioware is back baby! So looking forward to whats coming next!

Joe loved Origins and was lukewarm about DA2, so it looks like yet another reviewer is confirming a return to Origins' form.

Aww. I must have gotten in at a good time then :P
And yeah that's what you get for it. Free loot!

This makes me so happy!

That's great to hear, one of the few reviewers that I actually like. Looking forward his review.

Take them with a pinch of salt. Reviews also likened DA II to Jesus getting cut up into video game shapes and sold to us, the lucky consumer.

Can't remember anyone who played the demo of DA2 saying that, though. Whereas plenty of people playing EA Access appear to be having a great time.

I'm almost at six hours in and from what I've seen the reviews are more or less spot on.

I'm not discounting your opinion. I loved the first Dragon Age. It would be nice to see the series return to form but I am going to hold judgement until I can get my hands on a copy.

I don't know you.

There are some incredibly easy-going, devoted fans to Bioware here. They are forgiving of missteps. You might be one of those folk.

I am not easy-going and depending on the misstep and how many there are...it can make me think poorly of a game.

But I DO hope it is excellent.

If someone who despised everything about DA2 told you it was good would you believe them? :D

Interesting. In VideoGamer.com's video preview, one of the guys also mentioned "an important moment" 15 hours into the game that made him like DAI even more.

So hyped!

Weapons that steal health back makes me happy.

A lot of people that loved DA:O but hated DA2 are saying DA:I is better than DA:O. That's enough for me to buy it without question.

It depends man...

With all that said. I have gone from, "Hey are you buying Dragon Age Inquisition?" with my answer being, "Ha! FUCK no."

To...

"Yeah...maybe?"

Hey I don't blame you for being responsible. You'll be the one ponying up the cash, after all. I hope that if you end up buying it, it exceeds your expectations.

It's almost funny how much in disbelief people are in regard to DA:I praises. Almost to the point of seeming like they don't want it to be good. DA2's graphics and recycle maps, and Mass Effect 3's ending did a number on people.

Mass Effect 3's ending

Dragon Age Inquisition is going to have the most definitive, least interpretable or ambiguous ending of all time.

So much of this game seems like a "make fun of us NOW, ya bastards!" reaction to DA2; I can't see it ending any other way than as a rebuttal to ME3.

The game wasn't even on my radar because of EA + DA2 + ME3. I saw one video that showed tactical combat, was intrigued. Waited for my previews, the art style and vibrant colours; intrigue + 1. Open world, 80+ hours, no shit mountain, constant live streams, no review embargoes. I had a feeling the game would be good purely because of the no embargo and then the reviews dropped and I couldn't believe it.

Still shocked im buying an EA game.

Im in the same boat. At least the games not in the same boat as AC:U :D

See...and I don't hate Unity.

It has it's problems but overall (and only in my eyes) Ubisoft has done a better job of hiding their contempt for the consumer than Bioware did with DA II and ME 3.

With all that said, everyone here has been super-nice. I hope Inquisition ends up being great. Next tuesday is launch yes?

Unless you're UK in which case it's Friday.

I'm not talking about most people that just don't want to risk buying a bad game, but some seem to want it to be bad. "No there has to be something wrong with it. I'll find it!" kinda of thinking. I actually understand people not liking EA since they killed a lot of studios, screw with a ton of them (poor Overstrike), and are pretty evil in gaming.

I can't get the red lyrium quest to work on any of my browsers. No video shows up.
