NoA: "there are more great games on Nintendo platforms than anywhere else!"

I'm not attacking.

I saw your post and found it odd that it seemed to go against the majority idea that metacritic user scores were pointless due to young fanboys lowering them. And every attempt I've tried to get you to explain what point you were trying to make with that original post you've tried to dismiss as a "straw man" or "attack."

You're saying Nintendo user scores are high because of young kids. And most everyone else is saying that XB1/PS4 scores are low because of young kids.

Your thoughts?

I don't care what "everyone else is saying" I don't know that XB1/PS4 scores are low because of kids.

I take into consideration the age group of the critic and the target audience of the product when I look at any aggregated score. You don't? That's fine. I don't care about that either. :)

Hard to argue. I got the Wii U and PS4 two weeks apart from one another. I currently have 7 Wii U games and 3 PS4 games. PS4 might take the lead by this time next year, but it will still probably be close.

You don't know that scores are low because of kids but you know scores are high because of kids?

And you don't care if your common sense is common?

Do you have PS+? Because if you do, and you still only have 3 PS4 games, you're counting wrong. Or not getting your money's worth. Or just bought your PS4 today. Or counting wrong (I'm going with counting wrong).

yeah, perhaps if you ignore the platform that has been around for decades...

If we're going by age, then Nintendo can only count games that've come out since PS4 and Xbone launched.

I see nothing factually wrong with this statement. ;-)

...and I rest my case. This whole exercise is about people not excepting that most don't want to play Nintendo and trying to warp reality by telling them what they think they should be playing.

This is such an odd post. You can only compare products in the same category yet you started the post by saying that if you didn't like aspects of the console you couldn't say it had the best games?

So weird.

What?!?

How in the world does saying that people who want to play online games would consider the PS4 and XB1 consoles to have better games over the Wii U because both have better online support, not comparing similar products? Are they not all consoles? Does the Wii U's lack of features somehow make it its own category incapable of comparison with other consoles? Seriously, what point are you trying to make?

-.-

Edit: You and your The Last of Us, I can't hear this anymore ;) Sony releases one good game which is in my opinion overrated, and then Sony is King? Trust me this is not how it works my friend, The Last of Us will be forgotten in 25 years while Nintendo is still releasing successfully Super Mario or Zelda games ;)
First of all, that post was sarcastic. Second, TLOU is only overrated in your opinion. Nintendo games are overrated. You see how that works? Opinions. Besides, it would be something if Nintendo is still releasing the same franchise 25 years later.

Me and my Last of Us? I think I've mentioned the game maybe twice in the last six months (today and the other day when the digital version of the PS4 game was on sale and someone had made a thread about it. I bought it because I didn't have the remaster yet). So I'm not sure what you're getting at.

As far as the rest of your post, I'm not going to attempt to attack your character by casting doubt on whether or not you've even played TLoU, because it really doesn't matter. You have your opinion and I have mine. You think the game is overrated and will be forgotten in 25 years, while Mario and Zelda will still be starring in games (which I agree with the second part). I think Mario and Zelda are boring as fuck, and the fact that Nintendo will still be releasing games starring the same old, unchanging, uninteresting, paper thin characters that far into the future is half the problem.

I'd much rather have Sony (or Microsoft--or Nintendo, if they'd actually do it) and their first party studios release games of the caliber of TLoU (and a couple sequels), and then turn around and wow me with other, completely different games that star completely different characters who have completely different stories to tell. It keeps gaming fresh for me.

Obviously we don't see eye to eye on this, and that's fine. If we all agreed on this shit, there'd be no GAF, and the world would be a worse place for it.

If you really think like that than I am really sad for you because you miss alot of awesome games in your live ;)And if you don't like Mario games than you are not a real gamer in my opinion, everyone loves Mario ;)

Edit: And when you have Kids one day than you will be happy that Mario excists ;)

Not everyone loves mario though.

I've been gaming since the Atari 2600. I have owned an NES, SNES (and was extremely anti-Genesis back during the "Bit Wars"), 3DO (yes, really. It had the best version of Need for Speed--if you forget about the FMV segments), N64, GameCube, Wii, PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbone, GameBoy, GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advanced, DS, 3DS, PSP, Vita, Sega Nomad (long after the Genesis was dead). I game on my phone, iPad, consoles, PC...just about anything that can play games.

But because I grew tired of "It's-a me, Italian Stereotype!" and his friends, I'm not a "real gamer"? How myopic.

Interesting approach by NoA. It's a shame the console is still selling at very low numbers even with all those great games.

Actually most kids I know prefer Sony/MS.

Didn't you get the memo? It's not about what they want. It's about what Nintendo fans say they want. I mean we just can't let people make up their own minds and buy the products that interest them the most. No. We need a culture police to ensure that they like what the elite deem worthy.

Quite possibly superior on Vita, and holds a game breaking glitch on the 3DS version. The fact is, it's multi-plat. Something like this shouldn't sway someone from buying a Vita instead.

It's on 6 different platforms.

Already on Gamecube, and even better at that. The lighting was atrocious in the HD remake.

Why would they market these games with this ad? It doesn't make sense to use multi-plats, or shitty rehashes.

You should ask Sony and MS the same question.

False advertising is legal now?

Also another question, but add EA, Ubisoft, Activision, Square, and Capcom to that.

Well, I suppose. Including 3DS seems slightly misleading - since you really never consider a handheld to be a part of the same "generation" as a console. I've always viewed those as separate cycles.

Since the arguement always seems to be that timeframe = generation (no mater how subjective that is.), that includes 3DS and Vita into the eighth generation of gaming.

Hear's a very simple reality check to that statement: If that is true then why isn't the Wii U the best selling console?

All the proclamations that Nintendo is the best have to deal with that simple question.

Why do bloggers keep begging for Nintendo's demise or turn a blind eye when good things happen to them? Why do AAA 3rd parties keep insisting it's too hard or infeasable to port a game in full to Wii U? Why is it okay to port beg for Nintendo exclusive games to go multi-plat? There's more questions to this riddle than one...

The first half was yes, I gave up at chapter 7. Worst gimmick I've ever seen to extend a game, it's a good game stretched out 2x too much for a stupid story twist.

Nothing forced you to choose
the full ending. You could've easily taken the easy route and gotten a temporary victory with the bad ending and left on your merry way.

It's still sad when a gamer does not like Mario games in my opinion because all Nintendo wants is to make Kids and even older gamers happy with their Mario games :) Besides all that Fanboy talk, I mean it's okay with me that there are some gamers in this world that don't like Nintendo, but really, Nintendo did not hurt anyone, there always put alot of effort in their games and they really try to create something unique with every new Mario game that they deserve it that everyone loves their Mario games in my opinion ;)

Just caught the edit.

I am a father. Here's my little girl a couple weeks ago when she turned 7 months old.

And if she wants a Nintendo when she gets older, I'll get her a Nintendo. I bought my nieces and nephew a WiiU. I'm not anti-Nintendo. I just no longer have a personal affinity for their games. That may change some day. Just not today.

Side note: Please, for the love of God, don't insult my daughter. I get that this is the Internet and people like to say cruel shit because you can and nobody can do much to stop you. But she's the only decent thing in my life most days, and is an absolute angel of a little girl. She doesn't deserve any insults, no matter how hollow. Trash me if you must, but please spare her. Thank you.

she's adorable

*yet another straw man

*sigh*

No. That's why I didn't say that.

Nope not another straw man. I don't think you know what that term means.

If you have a younger audience you are going to have a higher user score.

I don't know that XB1/PS4 scores are low because of kids.

Those are your words. It's not a straw man. It's exactly what you've said. You know scores are higher because of kids, but you don't if they're low because of kids.

Believe me, I respect the effort and care that Nintendo puts into most of their games. I wish others did the same (*cough* Ubisoft *cough*). But that doesn't mean that their games also appeal to me. They just don't. I can't explain it. It just is what it is.

Thats awesome :) I wish you that she stays healthy and happy all her live :) And if she prefer a PlayStation 6 one day than it's okay with me too ;)

It would take a POS to say anything. She's awesome dude! Grats!

Using your child as a weapon in this atrocious console war sir have you no shame!

Lol, so much saltiness. This guy does realize he's comparing a bunch of other systems to just 1, right?

He is actually a big Nintendo fan.

And yes, he is comparing a bunch of systems to 1 which actually emphasis his point more because these are about games that are available everywhere but not on the Wii U. So by increasing the amount of systems, the numbers should be lowered.

Not going to disagree here.
Did my 10 for the year and was surprised how much nintendo stuff was there for someone like me. Who has usually just owned the system and a few exclusives.
