Wonder what the limitation is. I remember Rock Band 3 having a 3000 song limit, but I can't remember the exact reasoning.
That character does not look like an 18 year-old. The design is clearly made to have that "loli" look. I used to teach English to junior high school kids in Japan, ages 12-15. Marie Rose looks like a typical 15 year-old.

My point at least is that if you show me a picture of a girl that looks like Marie Rose and told me "guess her age" I would guess 15 , but if you told me "you are wrong, she is 22" I would believe you since I know people that look young but are old. I wouldn't insist that you are lying to me and that she is underage no matter what you say.

What we should be complaning about is that there aren't any old womans or a grandma (I like my fighting games to be as diverse as possible). Even the new Senran Kagura game will have a playable grandma so why are there none in DOA?
Because DoA's audience doesn't want to ogle old ladies...fighting game audiences in general, really.

I know girls who are 20 who looks like 16, 15. It's common. There is even a friend of mine who was 25 and she had to present her identification to buy drinks because the barman didn't believe she wasn't underage.

Yeah from the screens DoA5 looks better in that sense.
I didn't play it though, as my last DoA was 4.
However it's their general art style and direction, so even in DoA5 it's still there (and i don't see why it shouldn't be either) i personally don't like it at all, but to each their own.

So what is the solution? Never have younger looking people in games? Only do the opposite like what Ayane and Kasumi used to be?
I guess you are sayin it because DOA sexualizes the girls and I understand that point but I think people would hate Marie Rose the same even if she was a Street Fighter or a Tekken character (just look at Lucky Chloe).

Didn't understand the hate Lucky Chloe got. Also, tons of people love Sakura and Karin, and that would fall under this archetype.
My issue is precisely the sexualization DoA poors on its characters. So, for this series, there is no solution that would be palatable for me.
Even if I don't like the character, I'd rather they spend time on people who will be back for DoA6 over characters from another fighting game. Better to bolster your own roster with your own characters than keep borrowing from a new series.

Well, Team Ninja has been recycling the same body type/shape/models for years; now that they have a new one to use of course they're going to run it into the ground. D:
Lazy route would be to simply reuse an existing character, like importing Kage from VF, instead of creating a new one from scratch.
