New Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae screenshots

Yeah overall the other characters I don't have too much of an opinion on in comparison to their different designs, but Noctis looked way cooler in that shot than he does now. That hair and coat. Too trill

That Jump ability may be for the spear weapon. But we've seen that the spear weapon has the "Spiral Thrust" ability, dunno if this means that weapons can have multiple abilities.

And I like that quests highlight the general area. Of course, this doesn't say anything about the quality of the quests, but we'll see.

Jump is typically a dragoon ability so...

Isn't one of the main draws of the weapon system is that various weapons of the same types have different skills? I totally expected a spear with Jump as a skill, can't wait to see how it looks.

Noctis probably gets a weekly allowance from daddy and used it all up already.

He's gotta pay for all that petrol!

No mechanic would dress like that. It's pandering. She's the female version of something like this.

But it's not unusual to see girls dressed up like Cindy right? Let's be real here, in the summertime her kind of dress is not unusual to see.

Whereas the dude you've posted would not be normal to see lol.

Actually, yeah, you're right. Dunno why I was thinking there won't be more than one spear weapon lol.

Kind of hoping that this party is a fakeout and that they all die within 2-3 hours of the story to be replaced by a much more visually interesting cast of characters.

It says general area, so at least it looks like you still have to search for the objective a bit.
Still, let's hope these quests are more meaty than "kill x/collect y" like DA:I/Xenoblade.

My favorites are Current Noctis and Ignis (without those MJ gloves) and Old Prompto and Gladio.
Ignis' gloves remind me of Roy Mustang's gloves. :D

I like Noctis current design more than his old design.

I also really like the cast of characters we have seen so far. They all have their unique quirks and personalities.

I know it's crazy, but people dress very close to how their friends dress. It isn't abnormal. It's more abnormal to see a group of people dress like their all from different areas/cultures of the world when they're all from the same area.

Diversity for the sake of diversity turns bad real quickly. I don't remember Hamlet's friends dressing radically different from what Hamlet wore.

With that line of thinking how is a person supposed to make snarky comments for internet lulz?

Is it me or has this taken a bit of downgrade since the E3 trailer.

Mabye it's just because the screens are compressed but while the 3D models for the monster and One Direction look good, the environments don't look that great. Specially the first shot

WHAT?

Do you mean that growing up and playing with mages and black knights and ninjas and black guys with machine gun arms and talking dogs you didn't think "this is pretty good, but would be soo much better with a boy band as the main characters???"

Blasphemy!!!!

The different characters actually usually are from different areas of the world and the way they look and dress generally work under their context. I would rather see some variety than this. I also don't dress the same way my friends do. How often do you see groups of people wearing similar clothing? Maybe you do where you're from or maybe you've seen it, but I'm not terribly familiar with groups of people wearing almost the same kind of clothes. I don't need that level of "realism" in a Japanese RPG. This series has always had a nice variety of characters and designs and it's something I do associate with Final Fantasy and most RPG's in general. What makes them memorable for me, at least partially, are the cast of characters and how they're generally unique from one another.

I know you're being sarcastic, but if you weren't, I would say that it's not even anything to do with any of that. I just like seeing a variety of characters, and for the longest time we've just seen these four guys and they all look roughly the same, so it's already very stale to me.

Can't wait to see what summons we get to face in the demo.

I thought we only got to use a summon, not to actually fight one?

Whatever this guy ends up being I guess. Will probably be a fight to obtain.

6uKMjXl.jpg

I was also under the impression that you had to fight the summons to obtain them.

Well Idk about the demo but in the full game

There are other ways to get summons as well, other than fighting them. Not elaborated on what those other ways are though.

You wish for that, then Snow, Hope and Lightning pop up.

These guys seem ok.

They're not my favorite characters ever due to the writing and voice acting, but at least they all looked different and had clashing personalities. So yeah, I guess in some sense I would prefer it. But I'm not an FFXIII hater, so there's that. I'm really just commenting on their appearance. Their personalities could be good and different than what I expect, but it's still a Japanese RPG so I'm honestly not expecting them to be much better in terms of dialogue and voice acting than what we've been getting lately.

I love the FFXV cast's look, but at least the FFXIII cast was more visually diverse like what these people would prefer. We have no idea what the FFXV cast is like, so as far as we know they could be just as terrible. Regardless, that's not relevant to what they were saying.

The SAME??
Blasphemy 2.0.

You clearly are not as much into boy bands as Nomura-San

I will just go ahead and say right now that I haven't played the game and I don't know much about the characters. They could blow me away for all I know. There could even be more characters revealed later on, as I'm sure there will be, that will help out on the visual dynamic of the party. It's just that for right now after seeing these same guys for so long it's already very stale to me. This is just one reason why I'm so eager to play the demo, to see if we get a better handle on this new party, and how my opinion fluctuates, if it fluctuates.

"During quests, the HUD will display your objective and also highlight the general area where the quest can be completed."

MMO-style quests.
Also why the fuck would Noctis and co. need money?
There are a couple of potential reasons but I suspect the actual explanation will be "because reasons."

Plausible explanations:

War happened, value of stuff changed drastically, certain currency not trusted.

They are traveling through different countries? *shrug*

People know who these characters are and won't deal with them? They are criminalized for some reason?

I suspect none of these are actually the reason. And no I haven't read up on the lore, because I'm interested in laughing at whatever implausible scenario the game has to come up with in order to proceed to make even less sense if it had just foregone any explanation.

Edit: Also yeah, the faux sex-appeal of the mechanic is maybe one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. Big-budget videogames nowadays never fail to be inept.

Noctis can't touch the Trustfund until his 21st birthday?

really bruh? I see that everywhere. My friends and I don't dress too similar because we are "really" into fashion (didn't go to NYFW because work clients) but we probably would if we had the money.

Everyone wearing Undercoverism!

There is no way they could be just as terrible... Right?

Not even Star Ocean 4 got close.

The boy band thing is getting quite old. Also, why shouldn't the game challenge the idea of what a Black Mage, Knights, etc should be?

The different characters actually usually are from different areas of the world and the way they look and dress generally work under their context.

There's a lot to unpack here so I am going to take it a little at a time.

I agree with this. In that context it does make sense. However, Noctis and co are from the same area and most of them were brought up and raised together. Ignis and Gladiolus are from noble families tasked with assisting the Lucis family. The story built around these characters make sense. Asking for a diverse cast of the four would fundamentally change the story they're going for here and it wouldn't be anything like what was originally envisioned.

I would rather see some variety than this.

Understandable, but wouldn't make sense for what the story is trying to do. Once again, it's diversity for the sake of diversity.

It's actually something most people don't realize they do. It's something people subconsciously do in order to "fit in" with the group of people they hang out with. For example, I used to wear button up shirts all the time. After college I started wearing more t-shirts because some of my friends fashion sense wore off on me. It's something we don't readily notice, but it does happen.

This series has always had a nice variety of characters and designs and it's something I do associate with Final Fantasy and most RPG's in general. What makes them memorable for me, at least partially, are the cast of characters and how they're generally unique from one another.

This seems slightly superficial. This is the definition of judging a book by it's cover. All the characters in this game seem very unique from each other. Prompto doesn't act like Ignis who doesn't act like Noctis who doesn't act like Gladiolus. They all have unique personalities that define them. Not the way they dress. I personally would hate for someone to judge me based off my appearance. Hopefully, when you play the demo, you will see that looks don't always tell the tale.

really bruh? I see that everywhere. My friends and I don't dress too similar because we are "really" into fashion (didn't go to NYFW because work clients) but we probably would if we had the money.

I mean, I guess it depends on the context. Are we talking about the types of clothing? Colors? I have several groups of friends but no one dresses alike. I'm sure I've seen circumstances in which groups of people are wearing similar clothing, but I don't really see that as an argument against my personal complaint. It's definitely not unrealistic, but again realism isn't something I need in stuff like this; it's escapism.

Good post overall and I agree with pretty much all of it. I get why they look similar. I think I'm just tired of seeing them already, and I'm hoping that there's more characters to spice it up a bit. Particularly some females. Nah, that's not me being pervy, but another thing I associate Final Fantasy with are its strong female figures, such as Terra, Celes, Aeris, Yuna, etc. I'm just saying that I'm hoping there's more to the party than just these four dudes.

After talking about this matter some more and looking at other screenshots... I do think that my opinion mostly stems from being turned off by the shots of the four guys standing across from each other facing the camera more than how they're dressed or what their personalities are actually like. Some other shots highlight how their wardrobe differs from character to character, even if there are some general similarities.

Depending on how they're individually written and how they contribute to the story, in addition to hopefully some new characters being shown on down the line, I think I can warm up to it.

- The code will be available only in the first print of the physical launch edition of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, and with the digital edition “for a limited time.”
- The code will be valid until March 20th, 2016, exactly one year after the release of the European edition of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. Presumably the North American codes will be valid until March 17th, 2016, even if we have no confirmation of this.
- The demo is yours until you decide to delete it from your console.
- The press release explicitly specifies that Square Enix will not request the demo to be removed from your hard disk.

Just found this in a banned site (dualshockers). Is it true? We can't delete the demo?

The thing is, the game is pulling a lot from reality. The reason it does this though is to ground the world in something that is believable so that it feels more fantastical. It's also a way to quickly relate to things so you can "escape" into the world and it's lore quicker than trying to spend time trying to convince you how technology works within the context of the world.

I am speculating here: they may not be a part of the party, but there will be strong female figures within the game. My thing is, I define strong by a characters personality and what strength they can provide from their own sense of strength and overcoming weaknesses. That is what I perceive to be strength. Strong isn't "me Lightning, me strong and punch hard." :P

It will be engraved in my ps4 until the end of time.

This is the official PR from SE. Of course you can delete the demo.

With both the boxed and digital versions of FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0 HD, the demo will be playable on day of launch (20th March 2015). The demo will be available with all boxed, ‘Day One’ editions of FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0 HD while stocks last, and for a limited time only with digital versions.

Those who have purchased the boxed version (first print, ‘Day One’ edition only) of FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0 HD will receive a demo download voucher included inside the game box. This will be redeemable via the PlayStation Store / Xbox LIVE Marketplace until 20th March 2016. Once downloaded onto your console’s hard disc drive, the demo will be yours to keep until you choose to delete it - and will not be erased from your hard disc drive at the request of Square Enix. An internet connection will be required to download the demo.

That is also how I perceive it. I love characters like that, such as Yuna or Ashe. There's been so many of them in Final Fantasy and it just wouldn't feel right without them IMO. And by extension I like having those types of female characters in my party.

lol true isn't this the formula that one dude would use to create new boy bands?n We just need the shy, quiet guy. The "Lance Bass" of Final Fantasy, if you will.
