Vied for a tag related to cocks, so here it is.
Torn, real torn. Gets better after the first 3/4 but still can't decide. I way preferred his live version/lyrics of 'i' so that was a good change but I'm not sure about the background noise in the track...

Gonna take another solid listen or two to settle me on this one.

This album has grown on me a lot. Although there's not many tracks i'd play standalone. As others said, this album works best when played from beginning to end.

I am loving some parts, but overall I am dissapointed. I love the funky sounds, but some parts come off as meandering and unfocused.

Will be listening to this all all day, give it a chance to grow on me.

Not feeling this album at all. U is good and that's it, but only the beginning of the song is great. Then it changes beats, which I don't like.

GKMC and Section 80>>>>>>>>>>>>>PAB.

I think somebody already said this

but man these walls is just filthy. that last verse man. Kendrick just rubs it in that he's fucking this dude's ex while he lives life behind bars. in a song partially about the inside of her vagina, no less.

On my 2nd listen, trying not to rush through the record. I properly dislike the chorus/hook on 'Hood Politics', everything else on that track is great.

i've been begging for over 5 years.
I'm having trouble getting through it. It's a combination of me being very busy the past couple of days and the record just not grabbing me and holding my attention. I haven't made it past King Kunta on the 3 separate listening sessions I've tried to have.

I'm kinda OCD when it comes to listening to albums from artists I enjoy. I have to listen to them all the way through uninterrupted on the first couple of spins. I'll get to you Kendrick, eventually.

Spinning it since yesterday's evening, and I gotta say the production is just fuckin fantastic. As a funk and jazz lover, I'm in heaven. God the basslines, the interludes, the beat changes...Only "i" is kinda meh.

That's not very far in lol(3 songs). The album really starts to come together and pick up after that.

the album will be there when you've got the time. this is the right mindset to have for this one. this album is dense.

Yea I know. I feel like I'm not giving it a fair shake yet. But like I said I need to listen to albums start to finish for the first couple of times. I'm going to try to section off some time tonight before bed to chill with it.

This is great.

Done about 5 listens throughout the day at work and no one is touching this guy he is operating on a different level lyrically, musically and creatively. I can honestly say I have never been taken back by an album as I have by this one.

This isn't hyperbolic he has done section80 gkmc and now this he is one of the best rappers to have graced the mic and as a musician there isn't anyone out there as thought provoking and as challenging as he is right now. This album for is more than muisc I can honestly say I have been moved by it today

Killer Mike just used "boo boo" on RTJ2 , so I dunno if Kendrick can be said to have brought it back to life himself. further proof Mike should be plat

edit:
vvv OD didn't get as much plays with the children as TPAB is gonna get though. now a generation gets to say boo boo

Every album he comes with a goofy ass term that just works.

TPAB - Boo boo
GKMC - Ya bish
S80 - Woopty woop woopty woop woop
OD - dont wuwwwwwy

he always drops something as he perfects his craft tbh

He's used the term "boo boo before on his song off O.D. "Cut you off":

Ali, you thirsty on Twitter!
You boo-boo, you T'd, you turned down, you thirsty, you boo-boo!

"he always drops something as he perfects his craft" ...ok... lol

Killer Mike can say boo boo. I don't want to hear anyone else saying it more than that one time.

Been listening to hip hop for 20 years, I just don't like kendricks albums :kanyeshrug:

Give a conscious back packer any day.

Honestly, this kind of feels like a vintage Talib/Mos Def album to me.

Anyway, I'm feeling this. Like it better than GKMC and Section 80. It's weird though, I have to take the album in its entirety (except For Free... ugh)--there aren't any tracks that make me want to rewind and listen on repeat. Don't know if that's a product of cohesive work, or no standout song.

Between this, So Help Me God, Cole's album, Lupe's Album, and probably Tha Carter V, the best rap album Grammy race will be a tight one.
