I found a cheese strategy for the second boss. Only works until about 30% hp though, but it's almost guaranteed to not get hit until then.
Put the gravestone between you and him and hit him with the whip version of threaded cane. Your reach is longer than his and he can't hit you with his gun through the tombstone.

Alright gents having some trouble here. Got all the way to the sewers and picked up my hunters garb with 8000+ echoes my threaded cane is at 78 durability and I die further into the sewers. All I want to do is find the second lamp to it can head to the hunters dream and repair my cane without having to repeat the beginning area over again. Where do I go? I was making progress and just want to save that progress. Please help :-(

Tough luck to you, there is only 1 lamb in the first two bosses. Do not mind much about loss echo. It happens to the best of us :)

Quickest is after first boss.

Minions always respawm when you dead or tp back to the hunter's dream.

I don't believe this is like respawning in DSII where they eventually die off, but instead like Demon souls or Dark Souls where they respawning after every death or when you travel back to the hunstmen's dream.

Thanks!

Damn, there are A LOT of minions in that area then. I was constantly afraid, as I was checking some houses, that someone would appear out of nowhere =D

Past the gunner's ladder, in, down, and through the building. At the bottom you'll find a shortcut back up to the gunner area. Proceed past it until you reach a small town where a wolf busts out of a door. Enter that and climb the spiral stairs for yet another shortcut back to the lamp. Proceed past the smashed door, head left up the ramp, down the stairs, and down the hill. For a quick trip back to the boss, proceed right off the cliff from the lamp, a few ledge drops to the spiral staircase.

Must've missed it, I unlocked the door but I'll go back down there to look.

My storage is bugged. Noticed my vials weren't replenishing after death. Went back; no vials left in storage, apparently. Buy one vial. Suddenly, seventeen left in stock. Farm 19 more - come back - suddenly the total in storage is back to 20, but I still can't access it like I can with antidotes, bullets or molotovs.

Feels bad man.

i was in it for 2 hours lol its not worth it the ploy count of the face ingame is like 5% of the creator.... smh.
It can be done, but you need to either tweak, save the template, enter game, look at it, and then load previous template/tweak some more over again [and again] until you get everything right, or get the exact options/tweaks from someone who's already done this.

Personally, I didn't want to spend 2+ hours on something I'll rarely see in-game, especially when the creator image is so much more different than what you see in-game. If it were more accurate I can see it being worthwhile, but the polygon/shading of the in-game face isn't what you see in the creator. :(

Break time. This father is a pain in the ass on that second form. Need to chill and reflect for a bit.

I need to do this fight with a new character just to see that my first try kill wasn't a fluke. I keep reading about how difficult he is, especially in his "second form", and I didn't know he had a second form. I just thought he started
using his axe a lot more and no longer his gun
. I had so much more trouble with the first and third bosses. Like, a lot more.

edit: It makes me wonder if that "second form" is on a timer. Does he turn into
a werewolf or something and run around clawing you? If so, I never saw that.

Ok just came home and started download and put the ps4 I rest mode. At 100mbps how long will this take me?

The initial 5GB game + 3GB patch is pretty quick.

However, afterwards is sluggin' away at turtle speeds. It's incredibly slow. I've had mine downloading for ~21 hours and it's about 24GB/29GB.

Not home to test right now, but ...

I have a question:

Where are the iframes located in our dodges? It feels like it is in the very middle of the dodge, but I could have sworn I dodged late one time ... it still worked?

I'm going to completely annihilate G
ascoigne
when I get home either way (only tried him once before having to set out), but this will help me make his death quicker.

Killed myself after using one vial to see if the stock would replenish. No luck, so I went back to Hunter's Refuge and just stored the rest of what vials I had on me. They all disappeared. God, fuck this.

---

Bought one vial, and now I can see the number I have left in stock again, but I can't access them. Also the number of quicksilver bullets I had in storage shrunk to match the number of vials I had stored. Fuck this.

So in the hunstmen's dream, when get there go up the path behind the messengers in the fountain. Where the door is when you would enter the building instead turn left and there's an overgrown path. Down in that area is another fountain that will let you customize your messengers.

ah, thank you.

Game is exactly what I wanted DS2 to be. Loving it so far.

I've got about 50 blood vials and I've capped out bullets lol, I think I should definitely use my pistol to parry more. I barely touch it for some reason.

I'm up to the second boss so far, he's causing me some issues at the moment.

Not being able to travel directly between lanterns without going through the hunter's dream, not being able to dodge roll out of a gesture animation, the long and empty load screen and the uneven framerate are the only negatives I can think so far.

Dark Souls 2 had you travelling between locations from the get go, allowed you to dodge roll out of a gesture animation and all Souls titles had intersting info or some artwork in their load screens.

And I won't lie, having enemies drop a random weapon/armor piece/shield, comparing it with my current loadout and reading up on the lore behind it was a lot of fun and a nice break from all the combat in the previous games.

Of course, combat so far seems to be more fun in Bloodborne than in the Souls games and the detailed envronments and architecture are amazing. I know it's not a Souls title, but I hope the game has at least a couple of areas that look and feel a bit different than the rest of the game.

Vials only replenish after death if you already have some in your storage box [to a maximum of 20]. They also replenish when you return to the Hunter's Dream, from what I've noticed.

Unless you're saying that they completely disappeared from both your current inventory as well as not showing up in the storage box when you deposited them. If so, that's a pretty awful bug.

Edit - Never mind, I read your edit. Sorry, I wish I could help. Not sure what's going on with your inventory. >_<

This is epic , so i am in this area that as posted before is my Everest now , it's nothing to do with game progress or chalice dungeon btw, but enemies here , WOW, like i can not grasp how to fight them. One at a time i can fight but it seems to be harder then the Cleric Beast , but when mobs of 4 of em attack me... Amazing...

Try playing in offline mode? Seeing if it fixes itself?

Tweet Miyazaki? Somebody needs to know about that.

Anyone buy the Kirkhammer weapon the merchant sells?

Is it worth it?

My Str is at 16.

The best thing about it is the short form, or transformation combos. It does more damage than the Axe as long as you are able to be in range with the short form to start it. The Axe is a decent starting weapon, but honestly the Saw Cleaver is probably the best overall until you're about midway through the game. Above average speed in its long form, easy as hell R1 mash combos that do a ton of damage, great moveset aside from its jumping attack (which is okay) and really great range.

For whatever reason the Kirkhammer's hammer form has a comparatively small range on top of being super slow. It also doesn't really do more damage by itself compared to other STR weapons. At least not up to +3 and around 25 STR. The only thing that the hammer excels at that I can think of is its charge (hold R2) attack. Once you are able to use
Ludwig's Holy blade
I'm not sure what the point of the Kirkhammer is, since they share the same short form and its long form seems to have more range and is faster with a similar moveset.

Maybe the hammer will turn into A or S scaling with STR at higher upgrade levels and the others wont. Even then, what's the point instead of just branching out into SKL as well if it means using a weapon with more advantages?

Question for those playing...

Do you think From have made the difficulty on Bloodborne higher than normal to encourage the regain system? Is it too difficult for new players?

Nah, still fucked offline. Took out a few bullets and sure enough, the number of vials in storage shrinks to match it. But I still can't access them in any way.

Loaded up my first character's save and he has the same bug, too. The number of vials and bullets always match, but only one is accessible and actually there.

This is probably a dumb question but how do you remove items from storage? My molotov's don't replenish if I go back and forth from the Dream or die. My vials and bullets do, but molotov's don't for some reason. Are they not supposed to? I have some in storage but I see no option when I go there to take stuff out.

What about the fedora one?

I brought the game digitally on PSN. So..no fedora. (Bandages look totes cuter tho)

That sucks. I'm gonna guess you tried restarting your game and console as well. Hrm.
