I'm currently playing this on my weaker laptop since I don't have access to my home rig at the moment.

Intel i7 4700MQ
8GB of RAM
Geforce GTX 770M 3GB

I have it at 1080p, FXAA, and 2K shadows and it's running like a dream. The big difference is that I disabled Steam Overlay. I'm using the Steam Beat Client on my desktop. Also, I'm not forcing AF or FXAA through the Nvidia Control Panel. I'm starting to think that Steam Overlay was causing the occasional frame rate drops to 44fps on my desktop rig.
 
I usually leave the Breast Physics on Natural, but I switched it to off to see the difference. I do have to say that it almost seems like a totally different game. The breast jiggle very rarely if not at all basically like wearing a sports bra. I seem to stay more focused on the fighting with it off. LOL!

So huh Tecmo have managed to make the PC version inferior to its console counterparts ? That's no small achievements, hats off to them !

The textures aren't that different from the PS4 version at all so I don't really agree with him on that. However,the PC version seems to be missing subtle Subsurface Scattering on close-ups although that really depends on lighting conditions. I still think that PC version is superior due to the vast improvement in Image Quality. Also, the game is a combination of the PC Based Arcade version and PS3 version. It seems like Total Biscuit didn't do enough research and is just reiterating what he has seen and heard on the internet. In other words, it's not the total abortion that people are making it out to seem.

Its an OK video, but TB hasn't fact checked properly (I'm pretty sure this isn't the 1st time to) and states things that simply aren't true - he states the textures on the PC version are lower than PS4/Xbox One versions for example and that just isn't correct.

I actually agree on the online part, they should have delayed the game until the online was working, it would have given more time to get the extra effects/stages and the game wouldn't have likely lost a load of players over time by that point.

I'm imagining the situation backwards, if the PS4 version had SSAA but no soft engine, and then the PC port had soft engine but no AA support.

People love complaining. I'm not saying we should forgive KoeiTecmo for not going all out, but let's give it a rest. The game is surprisingly well optimized and looks amazing in its own right.

My take is that soft engine was dx11 only and they wanted the game to support more hardware. Or they just had a tight budget and old-gen engine was easier to do on PC, also maybe it runs better too

But anyways, the amount of shit and negativity the PC version has received is laughable. First i was a bit mad as well, but after i played the game, i changed my mind completely. It looks great and in some instances even better than new consoles. Better breast physics wouldn't make this game any better and it's just poor to complain about it

Lacking online mode is only thing the developer deserves to get shit about. It would have been better if they waited till online is ready and in the meantime they could have done the achievements and better steam integration

To the bolded, If the PS4 and XB1 are x86 and the PC Platform is x86, why would it harder to port straight from the same architecture, rather then the PS3 Cell Power PC base.

It would have been much more preferable if we waited the additional 3 months in they delaying the game and getting PS4 soft physics and content, and get online on day 1, instead of a PS3 port and online sometime within three months.

There is very little to justify here. If Tecmo was going to delay online on a FIGHTING GAME no less, they might as well have delayed the entire product to have hopefully something better on day one.

I'll accept what they released, but I definitely don't need to be happy about it.
 
It is a crappy port though even if it runs well (which isn't exactly a huge feat considering it has crap lighting for example) . Everything looks amateurishly cobbled together with a settings screen that is complete amateur hour stuff, resolutions supported are only those they bothered typing in etc.

It may be a decent game but it's the same kind of sloppy porting we saw with Revengeance. While I'm glad the game is out for PC at all, this sort of work should not be rewarded.

That's no excuse since PC gaming is scalable. You can have a DX9 and DX11 layer, not to mention DX11 is mainstream on PC. DX10 cards have been around since 2006.

It's just a wild guess, we can't know for sure. I wish they came out and explained the reasons behind porting the last-gen version.

I agree that they should have delayed it and worked harder on it, but even as it is, all around it's a great game. They should know better in the future when they decide to release on PC i guess, IF they don't mind getting shit on and getting shit sales
 
Cant believe people are defending the PC release, the PS4 vs PC comparison shots above easily show crap PC particles and overuse of bloom. If others are fine with that then who am i to argue but i think its shoddy to say the least.

I can get PS3 version with online for 10euro pre owned or PC version for 36euro on steam Hmmmm

This is perhaps my biggest issue with the game (even bigger than the missing online - mainly as i don't pay much online), the price. On PS4/Xbox One the game released at £29.99 (most places its a few pound cheaper) and you can get the 360/PS3 versions for easily a third of that brand new (I've seen it for £10) - and yet the PC version which isn't as feature complete as the PS4/Xbox One versions (missing effects, no soft engine, missing stages and currently no online) costs pretty much the same as them.

I really do think the PC version is £10/$10 to high in price, it should have released at £19.99, at that price I'd have likely bought it today - at its current price I'm waiting for a sale.

thats pretty much it though, you get a game thats over 2 and a half years old, with less functionality( for fighters online would be half the game for me, ok coming later but not guaranteed to be good - MK9 anyone? ) and a few parameters increased for x3.5 times the price. I dont understand the logic whatsoever.

no, it's just people using tweaks/inspector/gedosato to make it look better. but as it is without more changes and using the game launcher the port Tecmo gave us is inferior and lacking options.
 
I'm enjoying the PC version even through I have the PS4 version. I prefer PS4 for online, SSS (Subsurface Scattering), better particles and more stages but I prefer PC version for far superior image quality (AA and AF). I'm playing this on a 80 inch projection screen with Epson HomeCinema 2030 1080p native projector. The lack of AF and AA causes me to side with PC version despite the flaws.

This is a shit port because it is lacking rounder breasts, particles and 2 stages ?

Online play is coming, it has basic graphic options, support arcade sticks and doesnt have any problems such as crashes, freezes.

At the very least, its a serviceable port. I would say decent. Not good of course, but for a first, its not terrible.

We seen WORST ports in the past. Broken ones, 720p ones...
This one is none of that.

Soft engine is useless though. It's just some tweaks in the "tits" collisions.
I dont know why all the fuss about this. Its still look fake as fuck too. Would trade better AA to soft engine on PS4.

That being said, It's still no excuse for the lack of effort on the port.

Yeah, this is a shit port for a fighting game. Sorry bro. This shit is missing stages, effects, and online. Doesn't even have proper graphical configurations and lacks resolution options (no 1440p).

Anyways, I really hope that someone mods the 30fps intros and character select screens out. It's very jarring to the eye.

Threads poppin up about mis labeling of the DLC, apparently doesn't include all the ones it says.

People should probably should hold off on buying these packs for now.

I hope they release the theme packs individually, the packs are so expensive at the moment cause you're buying costumes for EVERYONE, no one would realistically do that unless they have some ocd collector personality. Where are the individual packs so people can just buy costumes for their mains?

As it is, without any tweaks, the game looks better, thanks to nice IQ (which was terrible on PS4) and texture filtering which prevents textures to become a blurry mess.

You don't need to tweak anything to make it look better than the PS4 version.

Those screenshots are with no modification whatsoever. PS4 without any AA just can't keep up at all.
 
Today I noticed the shadowplay folder name for Last Round is Tian Long Ba Bu which means "the Eight Races of non-human entities in Buddhist cosmology, who are collectively known in Chinese as the 'Tian Long Ba Bu' or 'Long Shen Ba Bu"
 
Is anyone else having an issue with DSR on Windows 8 where the desktop is invisible when exiting after playing the game for a while? Restarting explorer.exe fixes it but I'm wondering whether it's a game bug or a driver bug.

No offense intended (I know you really are trying) but even at 8k it looks conspicuously ugly. How can anyone defend this trash of a port is beyond me. I hope it does reasonably well on PC to warrant further support but honestly I don't think this deserves a single $/€.
What were Tecmo thinking ?
