Folks, the supposed event that happened in Britain didn't happen.

The trial collapsed. The two men accused were awarded large sums of money for false arrest. There were numerous issues with the case and how evidence was gathered and what was made up.

Am I the only one not shocked at all about this? After I found out that Burger King was selling horse meat and Chinese stores were selling cat (some good fucking cat, btw), I assumed that there were a good chuck of places selling human.

horse meat is awesome, if anything I'd be there every day

"The attendant noticed my reaction and told me it was the small piece of meat I had eaten that made the bill scale that high," he said. "I did not know I had been served with human meat, and that it was that expensive."

Even though the story is in question the expense shouldn't be your concern after you discover what it actually was... *facepalms*

Update 5/15; 11:24 p.m. EST: Though the BBC reported this story locally on Wednesday, 5/13, upon further review, another source suggests the story may be two years old or from a disputed source.

Well you taking the BBC as a credible source is easy to understand why you didn't think to fact check it more carefully.

I expected the logic behind this to serve it as an exclusive and expensive dish, maybe with some added superstition.
So I did a quick google, the priest is lying:

Human flesh was apparently being sold as an expensive treat at the restaurant, with authorities saying that roasted human head was even on the menu.

The difference is that while no one gives a fuck about cats and horses, actually obtaining human meat would be a nightmare since there's usually a funeral when people die. How would one go about finding a reliable source of edible corpses?
