Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

Mines are invisible, but they blow up if they get painted over by the enemy, so their best use is a bit tricky.

It's Turf War its not ranked why would you disconnect just cause of a win streak that doesn't do anything
People love them stats ;) Can other people see that, or is it only you? If only you can see it, then i dont know why its like this. Maybe they programmed the game to only read win or loss, and no "neutral" (as in getting disconnected, neither winning or losing the round).

Yes, you can replace the online lobby Squid Jump with the other Amiibo retro games if you have them unlocked. I believe you do so at the arcade cabinet in the hub? As for which games are unlocked by which amiibo, that info is all in the OP.

I'm talking about that Wii U game that unlocks moments of retro games like Kirby, TLoZ, Mario etc.

amiibo Tap. (or amiibo Touch & Play in EU)

They work but they're not recognized as who they are. They appear as generic "specific amiibo" with no 3D model available. But they do work.

I'm having some trouble doing these damn amiibo challenges, well, at least the limited ink ones since the Kraken ones were super easy. Are there any videos or something to help? I'm on the level with the invisible platforms and limited ink and I keep running out just before the end. I think it's the first challenge on the third row if anybody can help.

I'm motion off and got sensitivity at +2, and it feels fine. Haven't tried going higher since I'm pretty comfortable with it now.

My one and only complaint so far is that I wish the maps rotated more often. I'm starting to get a little sick of the Mall.
That would mean news bulletins more often and one day in it seems Calie and Marie have already run out of things to say :(

What you want is more maps in a rotation which given the screen has room for one more is not unlikely.

When you disconnect due to an error you loose your win streak.
I was just just owning with a .52 Gal Deco 7 games in a row got an error and now it's showing that I lost some of the "ratings" you get from win streaks. I was HAWT +7 now I'm Smoking' 5.5

They should fix this, you should not get a loss just cause you got an error during a match.
Oh look everyone has a streak of +20 because they pulled the lead when they were about to lose (that is why the penalize people and is standard practice). What is annoying is a lot of communications errors don't seem to be your fault yet you get penalized anyway. It should take into account how you were doing at the time.

It probably isn't the point but I believe Judd will still give you money from the hawt rank. I keep mistiming Judd and missing him completely as the map rotates right when I'm about to chat.

I believe it's midnight system time.
Midnight server time for the country your NNID is set to. My NNID is UK and Wii U is set to GMT when it is BST (GMT+1) right now (not bothered to go into system settings to edit it). At 23:00 GMT (00:00 BST) the shops refreshed.

Server time makes sense as it stops you getting orders from Spike early.

If I had SunhiLegend skills I'd make a Splatoon adaptations from clips of this very colorful movie.

I'm not sure if other people can see the stats for turf war, I though only Ranked Stats

Wow. That final boss. Wow.

I'm not even exaggerating here when I say it has to be one of, if not EAD's best designed boss by far. It almost feels as insane as a regular boss designed by Platinum. What a great way to cap the game off.

Also that credits sequence is fantastic.
Those scribbles are incredibly cool and I love how charming it is in terms of world building. Especially loved how they depicted Inklings and Octolings together.
The music was also one hell of a jam.

Just having that sequence made me really think about how happy I am about Nintendo actually doing this. It turned out to be everything I could ever ask for and more from a Nintendo IP. I'm so goddamn happy this game exists.

I look forward to doing all the Amiibo challenges, sinking my teeth more into multiplayer and experiencing the slew of content that will be made available. This game might easily be the best experience of the year for me so far.

This one took me around three tries to do. When it comes to the invisible walkways, try and minimize your shots, and if you must kill an enemy, they normally explode into ink, which will expose some parts of the walkways. You can pretty much guess your way across them. Apart from those sections, ignoring the enemies tends to help. Think I had a third of a canister left when I completed it

I can't play this game until the ~15th. Region lock means I need to import. Ugh.

How balanced is it? Is it fun to play even if everyone's decked out in great equipment and weapons and you're not?

Really? I saw a video and it looked so dull. Maybe it's different when you're actually playing.

It is funny that lots of people were predicting there would be Mario Kart 8 like deals for this game, and instead they actually charged more for it in U.S. lol

I'm sooo happy this isn't a Mario universe game.

It's very balanced. There's always things you can paint even if you don't have a weapon for kills, and there seems to be no OP weapon set.

Yeah, having full buffs will give you an advantage but you can still be taken out easily. Especially if taken off guard.

Plus the starting loadout is great.

It's definitely something to look forward to experiencing. It's less reliant on some sort of gimmick (like a lot of bosses, let alone final bosses tend to be in games) and more a final exam of everything you've learned up to that point. It's incredibly well designed and really requires you to be quick on your feet.

Hey guys - might have a bit of an obtuse question (haven't followed this game):

Is is possible to play online with 2 local players? Similar to Mario Kart 8?
