Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

Whats your guys favorite loadout so far? I've bounced around a lot of stuff, but the Splattershot Jr. Custom seems far and away the best all-situation setup.

Single player seems pretty fleshed out, though I haven't beaten it yet.

Multiplayer though... it needs more modes and maps. Some maps are clearly done yet not released, so it may be them holding it back intentionally, I'm not sure. It definitely needs more maps and modes online, it that sense it is light on content, yes. But whats here is very polished.
If you look at the screens on the multiplayer tower, you can see some of the multiplayer maps including ones that aren't even released yet. Definitely held back on purpose because one of the maps I saw was clearly level 17 from singleplayer, also saw another one of the early vs octolings level between the multiplayer maps. They were definitely more tricky maps so it makes sense those were the maps they held back for staying casual reasons. It's a sure thing that the first dlc maps will be singleplayer maps.

If you could play #Splatoon with Wiimote + nunchuck then this would be awesome.

lol ok im going to need to take a break. Im at Level 12 and I beat the game and got all the Sunken Scrolls. Tomorrow I'll tackle the amiibo challenges

Been playing solo but would be good to get some games in with you guys! Loving that the games are only 3 minutes, perfect just to pick up and play. Will add myself to the spreadsheet later.

...oh. OH.

I've actually never been up on those platforms yet. I don't think I even for the rig stage that many times while I was playing.

Ink up the containers and just wait for it to swing by. You can get alot of coverage from there, and its perfect for charge shots i'd think. Maybe even inkzooka?

Is there anyway to sell old clothing that you don't need anymore? There is a bunch of stuff in my inventory that is clogging up, and I just don't know what to do with it.

Just got this. Have literally just done the tutorial and am in the hubworld.

What's the Splatoon 101 for starters? What should I do first?

Oh, and I've turned motion controls off.

I have a problem with the inkstrike. When you activate it, it says tap on the gamepad map. You tap on it, then it (slowly, I feel) rotates the map and you have to tap it again. Look man, if I activated the inkstrike, and I can't de-activate it, you don't need this double-confirm process for the location of the strike. All that does is hold things up so I'm more-likely to get killed. Yeah, you wanna be safe to set it off, but that's not always an option, especially in the final seconds of a match.

Dear teamates, PUSH!
I just killed 3 guys!!
I've been in matches where I saw rollers bros just rolling around an already-painted area (top square on the rig) while I was the sole defender of the whole rest of the map. Come on, brehs, wot r u doing.

I'm curious. Now that many of you have had a chance to play it for yourselves, how does the GAF squid opinion line up with the general reviews on the 'lightness' of content in the game and such? Since this was a big contention, I was curious to see how reviewer mindsets lined up with actual player opinions on the matter.

"Does the game feel unfinished/rushed out?"

I noted before the game was released that I had thoroughly enjoyed three hours of the Testfire on only two maps, and felt that I could happily have more hours of just that

The final game has pretty much held true to that. I'm up to over fifteen hours played - a chunk of which would be the SP, of course - and while I recognise that we spend an awful lot of time on the same maps, that fact hasn't actually been bothering me in the slightest.

1) Walls don't count.
2) Paint the floor to build your special meter. Try to use it at the right moment, but before they kill you.
3) Actually, just play single player a while to get a feel for things. It's very useful.

Oh, and I've turned motion controls off.
Turn them back on, but turn the sensitivity down. -2.5 to -3.5 should be good.

Play a bit of single player just for fun and then jump right into the lobby. Hopefully try to get into matches with fellow gaffers if you added them to your friend list.

Play the story mode and beat the first boss, after that. You decide. Do you want to keep going, or head online? Some scrolls in the story unlock weapons to buy, btw.

Special shoutout to this terrible post from the no voice chat thread; it's become a running gag in my household.

I have a feeling Splatoon is going to end up like Garden Warfare, a good game in theory, but every server is filled with uncoordinated children wandering the map at random.

uncoordinated children

I'm wondering what maps from SP will come to multi or if they're all going to be totally new. I think Biodome and that Brickworks River map will probably transfer over, right?

Loosely speaking: If it's a Octostriker map (that's not the tutorial region, that's used for the first Octostriker one) or a map that's entirely Octolings with a path defined by those orange balls, it's one that's going to appear in MP at some point.

Bluefin Depot - which I think is the Brickworks River one you mention? - and Kelp Dome - the biodome you mentioned - have both been named as upcoming multiplayer ones.

I advice you to do the single player, it really helped me to get used to the controls.
