Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

At what level or coin balance should I start to look at the shop? I'm level 6 with 16000 coins or so, and I haven't bothered to look yet. Is there a level where good things start to unlock?

I think once they take away the two maps per four hours thing, I'll buy the game. Dumbest thing ever. I NEVER play games for longer than four hours at a time, usually closer to 1-2 hours. My opportunities for play time are limited to a couple of hours late at night, so I would get frustrated by the lack of variety.

Play 1 hour of 2 maps, then 1 hour of the new 2 maps? :P

Used the Splat Charger today. Terrible weapon IMO. It probably was fine in the Testfire but in the full game it gets outclassed too easily. The long range weapons like Squelcher or 0.xx Gal both destroy it. The other Charger seems a lot better with a much more useful special. The bomb special is awful.

I had to use the roller after to finally get the chance to ink something.

Like, right away? 1 star gear costs next to nothing and still makes a significant difference when adapted for your playstile. Why wouldn't you at least have a look at it lol

I get why people are pissed about the amiibo stuff but it's only because they don;t have it. The content is ok, an easy diversion to get a minor in-game money boost and some cosmetic items you won't use. The mini game is gash. But that's good. It's a funzie extra that doesn't really do anything. Hell the big thing about the squid amiibo is it gives you a youtube soundtest.

The figure is nice and a cool bit of memorabilia but in no way losing shit over in a false scarcity sense. And this is coming from an ex Games Workshop addict.
People are pissed about the amiibo stuff because it is almost impossible to find the amiibos in most places. Even in NA/Europe I heard they are hard to find, now imagine in various other countries. But as long as you have, why should you care about others not having the content, right?

(personally I would only be REALLY bothered if there were weapons locked behind amiibos).

Git gud. It is not the best charger, but it is far from being terrible.

That Miiverse integration is giving me all the 'yeahs'. But then again, I am kinda proud of myself for coming up with this, lol.

Dat final boss though.... it sort of upsets me the rest of the games bosses didn't have that level of creativity, longevity, and overall pazaz to them.

I would gladly buy SP DLC for this game if it got that level of awesome like the final boss again.

Those end credits have a sick theme too.

Got level 10 today, tons of equipment to level now. Only missing a few scrolls, then I need to wrap up my Amiibo levels.

All in all this game is packed with content in various ways, but I still want MOAR.

I fucking OD'd in that Blackbelly shootout. :lol :lol :lol

Just went all the way back to base like "yeah I'm going to paint this real quick"

suddenly 75% win

Anybody got tips for how to use mines effectively? I can't seem to get the hang of them, and they seem far less useful when it comes to the primary objective of painting new territory.

I want to try the Charger you were using! It has so much range.

Coming back in! Azure watch your ass

That is fine, chargers usually don't get 1000~ points. Just make sure to kill the opponents over and over again :P
Ah that may be. I'm still not that good with it. Don't have that precision I guess practice makes perfect

I pretty much just got this and the one game was a massive 80-10 blowout, lmao.

Walls painted can lead to kills which leads to wins, so not all walls being painted it bad. Now if you have a whole room of painted walls then your team is stupid.

They're not optimal for painting. Use them to cover your tracks and setup some decent choke point traps. Usually the best way I find using them is in areas where we have turf claimed since it means a quick recharge is possible.

Don't place mines in when someone is aiming down at you since most people will notice you making a placement. If you're being chased, lure them around a corner.

Splatoon |OT2| Another Splat on the Wall

Another good one

In other news, I finally beat stage 25 of Squid Jumper. Good lord, that stage is a pain. Both 23 and 25 are tough, which is annoying because dying at 22-25 sets you back at 21.
Turns out it's the final stage too! Too bad, I'd like to see more hazards and changing backgrounds.

Is there an ability that kills you if you manage to ink someone else before? Because I'm still trying to wrap me head around what happened in a match yesterday. I wasn't hit by another weapon because there were no indications on my screen of decreasing health. It just happened. Splat.
