Microsoft: Ashen and Cuphead are "lifetime" console exclusives

TBF, PC was in the dark ages for a while as far as getting a lot of traditionally console exclusive stuff to the platform. PC really was a relative wasteland in that regard before the Steam renaissance and the 360 controller becoming the de facto PC gamepad (as bad as the GFWL initiative was, at least we got the sorely needed controller input standardization)
For once, it seems like their pledges to support PC as a gaming platform are more than just lip service and hamstrung implementations. I still fear though what their plans are in regards to stuff like this and their MS store, availability, modability, ownership, etc.

Cuphead is a wonder to behold, but I don't want to play it. Neither of these games is going to make much of an impact.

Anyway, Cuphead looks amazing (obviously) and this is a good get for MS in the console space. I'll be getting it for PC but still, good on them. Man, PC has been making out like a bandit lately. Fucking dope!

Looks like anyone that owns a bare bone PC will be able to run both anyway, so it's not like it's such a big deal..
Honestly, it's hard to care about Xbox One exclusives when I can usually buy them cheaper when on sale on Steam and they will run with superior graphics on my gaming PC... And it's even harder to care when the games in question are games that can be run on PCs with very low specced systems.

Sucks for me as a PS4 owner (cuphead in particular looks cool as shit) but good for these indie devs to get some secure funding to help them get their games finished and out.

It helps that every single frame is a hand drawn animation cel with an actual watercolor backdrop. You could make an art print of any shot from that trailer and hang it in a portfolio and the casual observer would never know the difference from a traditional animation cel. Chad & Jared Moldenhauer are the brothers behind this who mortgaged their house to work on it and their passion shows, they've poured a shit ton of effort into it.

Cuphead is just hitting all the right notes for me. Quite possibly the most intriguing game of the 8th gen(new IP anyways) for me right now.

I'm sure it'll sell very well on PC- curious to see how it does on the One though. Has the makings of a critical darling but a commercially average game. Hopefully I'm wrong though, it looks absolutely stunning and if it plays as well as it looks, it deserves to be a big hit

Most people are talking about it like it's the game of show. Personally, I find Cuphead far more exciting. I am obviously not that poster, but I still don't personally "get" No Man's Sky or what it's going for. Cuphead I get and I want.

Yeah. I guess if you really want to play Unchartered. Same with Gears or Halo for Xbox. However, most of the big console exclusives for both the XBOX and PS4 are hitting PC. From the indies like Cuphead and No Man Sky to AAA stuff like FFVII and Shenmue III.
Edit: As well as both SF5 and KI.

What is Cuphead, a SHMUP? It really looks wonderful but that gameplay style isn't really for me. Would have loved it to be a platformer but all the footage I can find is just Contra/R-Type with beautiful graphics.

Why not? They're just stating on which platform they're gonna buy it and that they are supporting the game with the purchase. Does it hurt your feelings or something that they won't buy it on the XBO? Game will get bought. Win for the dev. And that's what counts.
And yep, Cuphead's artstyle is fantastic.
