The Clippers just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about NBA culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in MLS where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw a team over in the NBA, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is that the NBA and the NBA players, after hearing this is not going to want to give the Clippers any more good players, nor let them get to the conference finals. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but the Clippers have alienated an entire market with this move.

Clippers, publicly apologize and give Deandre Jordan back to the Mavs, or you can kiss your NBA success goodbye

Wasn't sure whether to go with DJ, Dallas, and LA, or Clippers, NBa, and some other random league. First has issues with what can be done by Dallas public, 2nd has issues with what th asshole league is

I love that the end result of all this is that both teams are fucked for the foreseeable future.

This. In the long run Dallas should be happy they won't be saddled with such a large contract being wasted on a player that won't equal wins in the long run. It'll be nice to see this LA team beat down on by SA, OKC, or GS this next postseason

Its ok, mav fans. At least you guys get to pay chandler parsons $46 million.

Lmao

....as if that contract even looks particularly bad relative to the ones given out this year? Or they actually need that money for anything else right now?

'All I got in this world is my balls and my word.."

But really.. All this for d Jordan?? No comprende.. The game has changed.. Ask golden state

Jordan is going to schedule a meeting with the Mavs. CP3 will be hiding with behind the door when Cuban walks in. After Cuban gets in, CP3 hits him with a steel chair. Cuban is knocked out. Doc and Balmer come into the picture. Jordan signs the Clippers contract and then they spray paint LAC on Cubans chest. *Camera fades out*
Laughed way too hard at this.

As a Mavs fan I am ok with this. DJ's best use offensively is with freaking CP3 and Griffin on the floor with him getting him alley oops and easy baskets. Do we even have a PG besides Devin Harris and JJ? I almost feel bad for Parsons, but then again he's making a fuck ton of money to play a game.

Won't be subjected to almost a hundred games of Hack-A-Jordan, either. But damn the gifs have been so good. That Simpsons one, damn.

Personally I can't imagine anything ever being worse as a Mavs fan than Rondo in the playoffs.

As a Clippers season ticket holder, I don't know how I feel about this weak minded wishy washy defensive anchor anymore.

"Basketball reasons"

Yep. And "basketball reasons" was more mind-blowing. I went from celebrating in my car driving home from work to being #deandrejordanstinkface* and the end of the Lakers in two hours. This DJ drama isn't even close.

This whole thing will be even funnier when the Clippers lose in the 2nd round again.

This is just the Clippers being the Clippers. One of the most unlikeable franchises in American sports. I look forward to them not making the conference finals yet again.

But to be honest, this was bound to happen eventually with the NBA's weird free agency setup (and maybe it already has happened in the past). The fact that there can be negotiations but no actual signings for like a week makes no sense.

Well, with the exception of that punkass Boozer, verbal agreements were as good as gold in the past because adults know that "word is bond."
