Its pretty obvious cp3 will.

I mean... Harden put up something like 29 8 11 running point this year...

I guess a better question posed is, who is gonna keep the ball in their hands more? They are both most effective with ball in hands so they are a tad redundant in that regard. Doesn't mean it won't work though. LeBron and Wade were somewhat redundant too, however, they both played great D.

Just think about DeAndre for a minute. CP3 gone, Blake possibly gone, and he's the only one left after he was minutes away from signing with Dallas a couple years ago. Crazy.

Because it was a trade, Chris Paul picked up the player option and can leave as a unrestricted free agent in 2018, I'm assuming there's an extension in place though.

Main reason why Rockets agreed because they needed the cap space to pick up Chris Paul.

I really don't think the Cap salary structure makes sense in the NBA.

His 3 pt percentage last year was .411, aligning with Houston's philosophy, and he is a creator so the Houston offense is less 1 dimensional going forward. Playing a traditional position role is becoming less important in the NBA. There are other trades that make more sense for Houston sure, but those trades are probably not available. I think this definitely makes them better.

So both teams took themselves out from challenging the Warriors with this trade.

CP3 should've went to the Spurs.

I'm one of the 12 Clippers fans, and I'm not too upset. It seemed clear CP3 (my favorite player probably of all time) was gone. I'm just glad we got some assets out of it. I really like Pat Bev, and I think he's a good fit. Lou Will also fits well, and should allow us to let JJ or Jamal walk, which is good. Don't know much about Dekker, but we're usually weak at SF, so that works out I think.

?

Houston is clearly in a better spot than they were previously. Lou Will was the 7th man on that team, and Paul is clearly an upgrade over PatBev. They prolly won't win but they didn't really "Take themselves out"

This won't make any sort of dent in the playoffs but it will undoubtedly lead the league in "head snaps back" flops. It will be difficult to watch unless the refs follow my advice - if they see a head snap back then there was no foul.

Doesn't know that "You" is used in both the singular and plural
Why do people keep asking this? People act like Harden can't play off the ball. Or CP3 for that matter.

Whenever I've seen both play they have the ball 90% of time they are on the floor.

There's probably a net gain for Houston, but it's not a lot imo. Definitely not enough to beat San An or G State.

Clippers come out of this pretty good too. Hard to say if they'll stay at #4, especially with Deandre/Blake's future up in the air, but I can still see them as a playoff team, even if they're rebuilding.

Putting CP3 and Harden on the same team doesn't make a lotta sense. I wonder what Blake does now.

Yeah, I don't really get this from the Rockets perspective. They were excellent with Harden dominating the ball. Is Harden still putting up near triple doubles off the ball? No way.

I guess it's a good problem to have, two superstars. But they should have tried to get Griffin.

If you have elite players and a progressive offensive coach you hope they can adapt. What's the alternative? Would you rather have Beverly and Dekkar over a top 20 player because you're worried about "fit"? You make that trade every day of the week. I like Morey's attitude. Fucking go for it. So many people act like just because he Warriors are a juggernaut every other team should just sit on their thumbs and do nothing.

Idk. Two great players but idk if it's a great fit.
There's only one ball and both are most valuable being the primary playmaker. Off-ball Harden and Paul are still good but not as scary.

worse comes to worst you just trade CP3 to a team that needs a PG

Exactly. This is also not the last move for Houston this offseason I'm sure. There is already reporting from Stephen A Smith that Houston has talked with Melo about joining them if he gets a buy out.

I don't mind the move. I just don't see it working out or making them any better.

But hey, if it does, you can lose in the Semis as the 3 seed...Oh...

Wrong, I watch Rockets all season but Harden turnsover the ball way too much, He also got really tired doing all the work, Harden wants to play off the ball more.

Also Chris Paul is an elite catch and shoot 3 point man which will work very good with their style of play. Rockets badly need a front court player tho.

So unless a transaction makes you better than one of the best teams of all time it's a bad transaction? This is a dumb way to look at things. Teams should keep trying to make
Themselves better, regardless of Golden State.

There were just more sensible moves to be.

This feels like a, "We're close move" that makes sense on paper, but has some real life logistics issues. Giving peanuts to acquire a top 5(?) PG in this league sounds great, but we gotta see if they'll mesh.

Of course, if they could acquire a Melo, it'll be more interesting to watch.

Not going to compete, but it'll be fun.

What is a more sensible move than trading 2 (at best) role players and a draft pick for one of the best players in the league? Who else are you getting with that package?

Well, I thought they were good with Harden playing that way. 3rd seed is pretty solid success to me.

Anyway, it's a good trade on its face since the Rockets gave up little for a superstar. But Paul is going to eat cap space like I eat pizza, so it's opportunity cost in some respects. I really think they should have gone hard at Blake.
